  1. Well Salim only has 1 turnover the last two games and 5 the last four, he's seems to be getting better.
  2. Everything is not Al fault. Guards score a lot on us is because of bad guard defense. And because when they drive by Lue or Salim, they have an uncontesed lay-up; Al doesn't even try to stop them when they come his way. I'm not saying they score all of there points on Al but they do run lay-up drills on him, along with the powerforwards or centers he may be guarding.
  3. West >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Al PJ >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Zaza Marvin >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Al Paul, Claxton >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lue, Ivey, Salim
  4. Defense of David West & PJ Brown >>>>>>>>> Al & Zaza
  5. Quote: That way 7 pts, 4 rebs can be the order of the day... Then, we'd lose to Detroit.. 107 to 68... instead of 118 to 89. If Al did not play that game, it does not mean that those points would have never been scored, Smoove or Marvin could have gotten off.
  6. Yeah, I was referring to Zaza. I know Zaza is not that bad, at least he tries but he can't cover up Al's lack of D. He's a good back-up but not the shot-blocking presence we need. Zaza is terrible at finishing at the rim(reason for low %) but he is a good rebounder and good at getting to the line.
  7. Combine his D with Al and what do you get... ...you guessed it, worst interior defense in the League
  8. When was the last time anyone has watch a Hawks game and said to themselves, "Good D Al", or "Way to take a charge Al," or "Look at that rejection dy Al." It comes few and far between if ever at all. He justs move out of the way or fouls. I like his offense and aggressiveness but I truly that if Marvin plays with Al aggresiveness he'll surpass Al in no time. I say trade him, but not for chump change.
  9. Last year Bull's won with a very young team, if Deng and Curry played they might have gone farther.
  10. ^^^So true, Al also gives you the "the thought being held/getting grabbed" threat or the threat "of swatting at the ball."
  11. If JJ had the hops of Kobe, Tmac, Wade, he would be a superstar in this league. That is what make the superstars so famous, their ability to finish at the rim in traffic with acrobatic layups and thunderous dunks. Yeah, he can dunk but probably not on anybody.
  12. He seems to have that "feel" for the game that all really good point guards have. He knows where everybody is at all times and when to give them the ball for a easy score. He's looking better than Rondo so far, I wonder if Rondo was on UCONN would he look this good also.
  13. This team has some athletes on it, much like the Hawks. Marcus Williams has 10 ast with about 15 min left and Armstrong contests every shot, has about seven blocks already.
  14. Josh Smith could be a really good player if he would drive to the hole more often because no body can stop him. If he played more aggressive on offense then he could be a mixture of all of those players I think. Smooth lefty like Bosh, power like Amare, dunker like Kemp, defense and rebounding like Big Ben. I believe Marvin can be a more explosive, better range and rebounding Carmello Anthony without all the turnovers. Josh reminds me of Prince, they have about the same build and do alot of the little things. Salim reminds me of Gordon.
  15. "Portland recently scouted the Hawks' Al Harrington, who is seen as one of the top free agents this summer. The Blazers are the latest team to come away thinking that they probably wouldn't want to give him max money, which would start at around $10 million...." http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketba...9p-324941c.html This is why I started this thread and this one also http://www.oregonlive.com/sports/oregonian...6040.xml&coll=7
  16. We can easily get bigs in this draft. This is a weak pg draft so it makes more sense to me to address that need through a trade. I'm just saying that Portland has three good point guards and they cannot keep them all.
  17. Al with his no D and choking in the clutch play does more harm than good. When was the last time Al contested anything in the lane (Grabbing the opponent and reaching for the ball does not count). Just about everybody else on team averages more blocks a game than he does. I know it is not equal value but do you really think keeping Al is better for the long haul than trading him for a good point guard that will help keep us from committing dumb turnovers. Suns and the Nets do not have good big man but they still win games. Put Paul, Kidd, or Nash on the Hawks and we're a playoff team. How many good big men are out there, not many, but there are a lot of point guards. Just because BK is not shopping Al doesn't mean that he won't or Al doesn't need to go.
  18. I'd be a happy man if he could somehow get either one of Poartland's pg's and Pryzbilla for Al and filler or 2nd. I know getting a pg and Pryz may not be possible. I'm so desperate right now I'm willing to trade Al for one of their guards straight up. A point guard would help with keeping us from almost leading the league in turnovers.
  19. There is one thing I like about Tyrus Thomas, he has a motor and plays very agressive; that is why players like Amare and KG are so good and why others like Kadiman and Kwame aren't. That is what you like to see from a big man. He's a rich man's Stromile Swift because his basketball IQ is higher, better rebounder, shotblocker and scorer. I wish he was an inch or two taller though cause I'm tired of 6-9 guys.
  20. Quote: Quote: He definitely said he was sure Marvin would be a starting SF in the NBA. Wow, what a relief. **sarcasm** There are 30 starting SF's in the NBA right now, some of them good- some not so good. As the second player taken in the draft, Marvin Williams had damn sure better be something more than just another 'starting SF'. The #2 pick, you need to get a star- not just a starting player. I would think that Billy Knight's expectations for Marvin would lie much higher than that. If not, then something is very wrong and Knight needs to be held accountable for that. We as fans deserve way better than this. It's like a freaking Mickey Mouse show, or that movie Groundhog Day where the same things keep happening day after day after day in this endless loop. Our endless loop consists of stupidity, poor management, poor coaching, poor choices in personnel, the incompetence and futility just go on and on and on. It's terribly disheartening as a fan, and makes me feel there's a possibility that at some point I'll just say the hell with it and give up on the Hawks for good- because this is about as enjoyable and fulfilling as banging your head repeatedly against a brick wall. It's sickening what these fools have done and seem to still be doing to this franchise. Anyways, that was interesting Lascar. Thanks for posting it. Aint that the truth...
