My point is that if Shelden is taken then either he, Smoove, or Marvin starts on the bench. Shelden is not a 5 so he takes minutes from MW or Smoove. Why take another forward? He is not a center and trying to put him there is stupid. He is 6'8 and will not block shots like the ACC...he isn't that athletic. That KB put up some "facts" to prove his athleticism and frankly the "facts" weren't all that impressive. His weight is the ONLY thing that is a center's size. Thats it. So lets take another forward. Why not? We already have Chill who needs minutes...he is taking some from already this year...now you want Smoove to move to SF? That is called a logjam and the Hawks aren't good enough for a logjam. They have huge NEEDS. Shelden is redundant in a huge way.

I would love to take Foye...I hope that he looked so good that Knight is just sitting back and waiting to take him. I can only dream because another forward is just waiting to hear his name called by the Hawks.

When we draft Shelden at #5 it will re-inforce that a promise was made to him. We don't even work him out and we are sold. We are the only team in the top 5 that doesn't work out a top 5 player! That is professional negligence. I have been reading this KB guy's posts and I have never seen a guy defend someone to the extent that he defends Billy KNight. If Knight selects Darius Washington at 5 he will come on here and start building a case on why Knight is a genius and that Darius was the only man for the Hawks. He must be either a relative...or the man himself. You would think that someone couldn't agree with another person 100% of the time. The manner that we have conducted this draft is a joke. How can you not take a look at the top 6 players? Not even ONE? BK is full of a false bravado that is delaying our ascent back to respectability. We keep drafting forwards, neglect the PG position, draft high lottery players that end up off the bench...and draft players suited for an up tempo style and then keep a coach who likes to slow it down and slug it out in the half court. This organization makes no sense and Belkin may be lousy but he couldn't possibly be worse than what is in place now. These guys don't even look remotely professional...how about just working some guys out to make it look like we are interested?

If we need Shelden so bad then just where does he play? Who does he put on the bench...Marvin? So, we take our supposed great future player in Marvin and make sure he plays behind this new guy who is pretty much tapped out in potential? Either Shelden plays center or we don't NEED him. We took a player at #6 two years ago (another BK Special) that is now coming off the bench for a team that has won 39 games in two years. If Shelden starts at PF then Marvin was a wasted pick at #2...period. You don't draft a guy at #2 and then watch him come off the bench. Or, if Marvin has improved it will be Shelden coming off the bench. You don't take a top 5 player and hope he comes off your bench if your the Hawks. For all the smart guys that want Shelden you need to think a little more. We need a 5 (POST/CENTER) and we need a 1 (PG). Shelden is a 4...get it? Billy Knight doesn't and when Belkin takes over on July 13 he has made his last lousy, 6'8, forward drafting move. He sucks and the Hawks will suck as long as he remains with his lousy drafting and lousy head coach. The Landlord will get his ass evicted in the NBA.

9p 7r He will have trouble scoring and will get his points on garbage. Its a mistake taking Williams. Everybody now knows he is coming so optimism reigns...its a bad pick made worse by taking him so high. I would rather have Roy...or even Foye. This is another 6'8 Billy Knight special. Why is nobody else interested in the top 5? Bk thinks he knows more than everybody else...he doesn't know jack.

Shelden Williams is a hideous choice at #5. BK is conducting his last draft. What would we do if these fools didn't draft a 6'8 forward? Is Billy aware that nobody else wants Shelden nearly that high? Why haven't we worked out anybody in the top 6? BK really thinks he is something...I wish he was right.
