  1. FYI...It helps in the NBA if you can get the ball in the hoop on your own from time to time. It lessens your total dependence on your teammates and helps you bring more to the table. I don't care if you shoot it between your legs...its nice to be able to create your own shot.
  2. Chill can knock down a wide open shot. He shoots a high percentage. But he can't create a shot which is a severe liability in the league. His upside is limited because of it. How a GM could look at this kid and take him over Iggy or Deng is a stretch. He is a hustle kid and a guy who can finish. But his shot is so flawed that it requires too much time to get off in traffic. And his speed is problem for a guard. He is not a 2 guard and no amount of hoping is going to make it true. Lets trade him for another #1 and get a do over.
  3. The biggest problem with Chill's shot is not that its ugly...its that he can't ctreate it off the dribble or get his own. That is why he can't play the 2...he is a garbage man...fine, but as the #6 pick it was too high. But, Billy was in love....and when Billy is in love you just back away and watch. Cause its done. He was in love with Shelden this year...back in January Billy knew it was Shelden like childhood sweethearts. Ain't Billy something?
  4. You do think a lot like Billy...he may just make that deal with Foyle. But I doubt Mullin likes it much.
  5. Listen up: You aren't getting an unprotected 1st AND Ellis for AL Harrington. It ain't happening. Even if you take Foyle. We will be LUCKY to get EITHER a 1st or Ellis. Your trying to build this stupid case for Foyle by saying that he is the way to get both Ellis and a 1st. You pulled this crap out of your left butt cheek. Its a fantasy. Chris Mullin is in deep s**t already. He isn't including a 1st AND Ellis. He has a lot of lousy contracts not just Foyle. Get over it.
  6. Since you didn't get it the first time I'll give it to you again. If your going to take back a bad contract...get a guy that can play at least a little. Like Murphy. Do I want Murphy? NO. But he can play some. Foyle sucks. Bad. He doesn't bring squat to the table. If you HAVE to take back big money...get some kind of VALUE...maybe even a guy you can trade down the line if you have to...Foyle can't be traded. That joke would be on us.
  7. Marvin was a very young HS senior...he turned 18 a month after he graduated from HS. Many good HS players in all sports get left back at some point so they are an older senior. Marvin went to college even though he was a top 10 pick because he was a YOUNG senior. The way I see it he could have been in HS the year he was at UNC...that is typical. Marvin just turned 20. He is going to be unbelievable within a couple of years as he gets some experience and physically matures. I would be very careful to avoid criticizing MW at this point because it will look very foolish later. Picking a different player to rag would be a good idea if one is concerned with personal credibility. Marvin will show enough this year that ignorant fans will jump off his back in a hurry. I find it highly humorous that some people want Adonal Foyle and think poorly of Marvin Williams. Makes sense to me.
  8. I can't believe somebody is still pushing Foyle. It is more about being right at this point than logical. Foyle would be assinine. BK is generally pretty crappy. That may mean we end up eating a scrub like Foyles contract. If you have to eat somebody's bad deal...make surre they can play some. Like Murphy. I don't want him but he can play some. Foyle just sucks. It's like trying to get someone to go out with a hideous 400 lb woman. If you throw in a good personality and a great car...it still ain't worth it.
  9. Since when do we have enough guards? We have Claxton and Lue at PG...that ain't what I call a playoff looking pair of PG's. We have JJ at 2...who else? Salim is a situational shooter who will play 2 but doesn't defend worth crap and is undersized for a SG. We need guards. I know BK gets a Woody everytime he sees a forward but I'm ready for some backcourt depth. And Ellis is what I'm looking for.
  10. The reason why they don't want to lose him is because he is better than Salim. He has a huge upside and can really handle the ball. Salim is a stretch to ever play PG. Monta can play either PG or SG. He can get to the hole and has a good stroke. Salim is a shooter. PERIOD. He does that very well but he doesn't play great defense and is one dimensional. Monta could make us all forget about Foye and Roy in another year. The kid can play. The #1 reason why he wasn't a first round pick has to do with his knee which is now 100%. He would be a huge get for the Hawks and could back up JJ and/or the PG. With one more year under his belt this kid would be good to go. And he is 3 years younger than Salim. Huge difference.
  11. I know it doesn't work under the cap but I was too lazy to work out a long deal. I put that deal as an example of what a big deal might be based on. I expect BK wants either Ellis or a #1. Ellis is behind Baron Davis and Jason Richardson so GS may reluctantly part with him. Pietrus makes sense for the same reason. I think Childress needs to be moved and why not put him into a deal where we can get good value back...and alleviate this frankestein small forward logjam a little. I'll be surprised if we move just AL...although Billy is stubborn enough to believe that he can work Childress in. GS does have some talent...not sure why they suck so bad. Good point about Mike Montgomery and Chill. I get the sense that GS wants to do a decent makeover and we have some pieces that they like...
  12. I get the feeling that we get Pietrus in the deal because AL says that GS wants him at SF. Richardson is penciled in at the #2 and that leaves Pietrus out...I wonder if this trade might include Childress as well...and maybe a 3-way. We have a jam at the SF position and CHILL is not a great option at the #2 spot...despite what some here want to think. BK is real good at getting talent but not getting together a real team. It could look like this...I know salaries don't mesh but this deal could be bigger than we all believe to help both teams out of tight spots. Pietrus Ellis #1 for AL CHill Chill doesn't mind being the 6th man but he doesn't want to be stuck behind two guys and being forced to play the 2 just because we need to squeeze him onto the court. Pietrus is more suited to playing the two because of his skills than Chill.
  13. Some people want Adonal Foyle? I didn't know that Isaiah Thomas posted on this board. We will have some players to re-sign in a couple of years and we want a big stiff who has one of the worst contracts in the league? Actually, even Isaiah wouldn't do that...I want Ellis in the deal OR a 1st. We don't get both and were lucky if we get one of them. Foyle sucks mule nuts.
  14. Esteban is probably the worst basketball player that I have ever seen. Why people assume that this stiff will ever play a significant role is beyond me. He can barely make a layup. He is just as likely to hurt one of our key guys in practice as he is a player on another team. Edwards sucks but he can make a layup and he can knock down an open 15 footer. Batista is a hack with no skills. I can't believe we extended him. I also can't believe some people here put him into some kind of viable rotation. If Batista plays a lot...we suck. That dude couldn't play for my mens team. He is going to hurt somebody...
  15. dumb trade...ain't happening anyway. It got pulled from someone's left butt cheek.
  16. Marvin will be fine. Diesel will be embarrassed by his blatant lack of being able to project a player. Didn't he just say he would take Adonal Foyle? Nuff said.
  17. We will regret not taking Randy Foye. Bank it.
  18. Diaw? You mean the same guy he thought so much of that he GAVE away? That Diaw? Your points have been argued to death as well...the BK apologists defending the garbage...the glut of forwards and the lack of coaching. As it turned out we could have turned this around quicker than we have...this lineup looks better to me...just ONE change. JJ Foye Marvin Josh Smith ZaZa Foye would have played given us better perimeter D and the man can score. Instead we get a 6'8 PF with little upside. Shelden was a mistake and that will be proven in short order. When you get a look a Foye by December you will understand we made a HUGE mistake.
  19. Stern has watched idly as other owners have committed atrocities on their cities and teams for years. He is an overrated jerkoff. He really doesn't care about this crap and won't touch this situation unless something happens that has a bearing on other franchises. Until then don't expect this excrement to get involved. He is basically gutless and just loves the publicity of being the commissioner. He is the most overrated commissioner in sports history.
  20. Billy now has 3 good small forwards on the roster. He has drafted a forward with 5 of his last 6 picks. We don't have a good team but we have some good players. Foye would have been much better than Shelden...time will prove that committing to Shelden a month before the draft was stupid at best... Chill over Iggy was bad...Chill over Deng was bad... I like Marvin but CP3 is the real deal and we would have an awesome backcourt now... BK's and his eye for talent is just a little overrated don't you think? I hear this crap about his "eye" for talent. Please. When you pick EVERY YEAR where the Hawks pick you are going to get a decent player. The question is...did you get THE best player available when they called your name? BK typically does OK...not hardly the best. He has a better chance of getting fired this year than extended. He is going down with his best bud Woody...barring a miracle. The best thing going for him is that the SPIRIT are a bunch of nincampoops.

    Grundy?

Grundy can't play. He is too small to defend in the NBA. That's just the way it is.
  22. The funny thing is that I have heard that the ATL Spirit don't see eye to eye on a number of issues. That is indisputable and they have had to make sure their little squabbles stay in private. I know that there are teams with multiple owners...but their has to be ONE CHIEF. That is where this partnership fell apart. A bunch of egocentric businessmen all who are used to getting their way. That is the absolute problem with our type of ownership. Stern should never allow an equal distribution of power among multiple owners again. Its just bad for all parties...fans, owners, players, and the NBA in general.
  23. DR. Reality, That is a great thought and I agree with you 100%. If the Spirit were smart (we know they are not) they would put Belkin on the spot in a big way with a potential trade. If Belkin shoots it down they go public and they score a huge win in the PR game. If he approves then they get their SNT with Harrington completed. My guess is that the Spirit just sit paralyzed like the incompetant owners that they are...but they do have have options. They need to be a little bit more saavy. You would think with 4 guys somebody would come up with something...
  24. My biggest complaint with Knight is his so called "plan". He falls in love with players and that is unproductive from a team building standpoint. Think about this...we may have our future star coming off the bench next year in Marvin. He was the #2 player in the draft for crying out loud. We have 3 SF's...MW, Chill, and Smith. That is NOT operating with a plan. We are accumulating talent but not a team. We hear that Smith may play some 4, Chill some 2, Shelden some 5...but that is not what those guys play. Billy drafts talent and then tries to SQUEEZE it out onto the court. In the end guys will not be comfortable playing away from their strengths. We have talent...utilizing it effectively will be a huge challenge. And his commitment to Shelden Williams one month before the draft without bringing in the top 5 players, at least for a look, is hard to imagine. Here's the deal...I go to every game so its in my best interest to see us win...finally. But BK's team better be a lot better this year. The jury is out...we have some great young talent but the question is...Do we have a team?
  25. I think that Indy is going to suck next year...a #1 from them may hit the jackpot. Look at how many brittle guys they have...and not that much depth. The Hawks were 4-0 against them last year. Harrington is fools gold and he doesn't do a lot of the little things that make players effective...like play defense. They just lost Peja...the East is getting better and they are getting worse. I'd love a #1 from Indy. I'd like Foster as well...a blue collar rebounder who plays defense. He would be excellent off the bench.
