Twolves have a lot in the C position. KAT is playing out of position at PF. I would love to have him here.

If they move him it will be for a kings ransom. What we gave up for DJM wouldn't be enough.

Let me add he could the go to guy in the post and help this team tremendously now if he's in shape,  wouldn't cost a arm and a leg.

We need another center, whether it's claxton or Drummond.

    These players are worth keeping:

    Trae, JJ, DJM, Bogi

These players need to be flipped to better defensive players:

AJ, OO, Capela, Bey, Hunter.. package them up and find better defensive blue bloods to surround the core..

    Like JJJ, Caruso, Marcus Smart

Im giving Quin a pass until we get better defensive players.

I think you need to move one of DJ or Trae.... unless you know 5th seed is the ambition. For me it's obvious which of the two you move.

He is what we dreamed Hunter would be in his best case scenario.  (Which was never a true superstar).  So I'm agreeing with you but I think he makes for a very good second option on the right team and beast of a 3rd option on a stacked one.

His role in Phoenix was perfect. He (and Cam *Johnson) were such key pieces for them.

Jalen is Josh Smith 2.0.  He's not the elite shot blocker but he has the passing, the moves and the freak athletic ability. The biggest improvement in Smoove 2.0 is that he actually takes good shots and isn't addicted to long two's.

I really feel that what you see in Jalen is if Josh just listened to coaches  a little bit more.

Jalen is smoother (ironically), there was always some Jank to J-Smoove, with his loose handles and while he had the highlight passes he was also the type of passer that would occasionally throw the worst pass you've ever seen. I think Jalen is much more refined offensively overall, it took several years to get Josh to look like he knew what he was doing on that end. Josh's brunt of his value always was defense, he was a legit force from the first day he stepped on the court on that end. It's why when his athletic ability (and shotblocking) started declining, he found himself out of the league. Jalen's shooting splits all over the court already put peak Josh to absolute shame.

Went to the game and the Hawks made it tougher than needed. Jalen has shown sooo much growth compared to last year watching him live. Glad I could be there for his career game.

Some tidbits. I saw Trae and Dj get in a really heated exchange on the bench after one of Traes turnovers. They seemed to be cool at the end of the game. No way they can let Bogi go he seems to connect all the guys.

    Glad we got the win

     We are officially streaking!

A streak to me starts at three and we need to get one of the longer ones going.

You been missing games this year bro? You think I have to cherry pick film to show DJ getting burned on the perimeter? He's an absolute sieve who over-gambles and loses focus, especially off-ball. Even on-ball though, his point of attack defense has been atrocious. Both PGs and SGs walk right past him to the rim.

His advanced metrics in SA were nothing special. I can see why now.

How did we end the tank too soon, when it was obvious that the guy we acquired was ready to go to the next level?

If we wanted to keep tanking, we should've kept LP as the coach.

Nate took over at the same time we get Bogi back.   Both of our young wings were hurt.

So now our All-Star PG is playing with mostly vet players who know how to play.

Had our wings not gotten hurt, we never make that run.  Reddish and 12 were not impact players.

Where we messed up at is not flipping our talent for better players or better fitting players.

We sold low on all of our players and will end up doing the same with Hunter.

Getting the right team around Trae is pretty difficult. Trae has not proven that he can lead a team to being above average for any real length of time. I'm not convinced he can despite his stats.

Bogdonavic is the second best player on this team.

Were you singing his praises last season .....oh wait. Nope.

Still Goberated at $40 mil and what we'dneed to give up in trade......and IIRC, OO would be the young C Ainge coveted, so he wouldn't be playing PF here.

You seemed quite thrilled with the roster though based on your W/L predictions below. What's changed.

We have traded players with some level of NBA talent for nothing to save money and we are still sitting on it. That's the issue more so than anything.

Additionally, the Hawks went into the season relying on the trio of youngsters (OO, JJ, AJ) to improve and really contribute. OO hasn't quite taken the leap wether at PF or C, JJ is injured and AJ is MIA.

We are having to start Bey and Garrison. :blanky:

Worth noting we are having to start Bey at PF, when he had mainly been a SG in Detroit.

Those are the number of games played by Bogi the past five years.

He’s playing above his contract level now, but he won’t be later. If we don’t trade him now at his peak, people will be bitching about him and calling to trade him later when his value is low (like they have with JC, Hunter, and every other player when underperforming).

I love what he is giving us now, but it won’t last forever. Sell high, buy low.

(Caveat: I admit it’s much more difficult to think of trading him without AJ playing or playing well.)

The knee surgery he had was supposed to help him avoid missing games? He really hasn't missed more than just a few games since then. I appreciate the sentiment of selling high, and I'm not opposed to moving Bogi if we can get something better in return, but it's gonna be tough we can do that because he's extremely valueable to th eteam atm. Without him we have zero bench scoring.

  12. Trae is looking closest to his second half 2021 form, it's a huge relief to see him play at this level again after a down year last year and an extremely rough start to his year. He is playing as a bonafide All Nba star and that's the hardest thing to find in this league. Defensive pieces, spot up shooters etc. We should be able to find those to plug alongside him, our failure up to this point notwithstanding.

Jerami is a better shooting/scoring/defending version of Hunter agreed. Jerami is an elite 3 pt shooter (one of the best in the league) and he can he create his own shot better than anyone not named Trae on this roster. He can also defend 4 positions well. Of course i'm not for overpaying for him like we would with Pascal, but if Portland wants to give us a good deal i'm all for it. Pascal would force JJ to convert to SF and is currently shooting 26% from 3 point range. Better player? Agreed. But not a better fit given his value for this roster.

You are really overselling Grant my dude. He's a lateral move from Hunter overall. Better offense worse defense. He's not averaging 20ppg for the Hawks, might not average more than 17
