  1. Quote: I'm starting to get sick to my stomache about all this. PLEASE NO WRIGHT!!!!!! No Yi either!!! Proably not Conely (but not devestating). Pau? Maybe. Horford. Yes. I could not agree with you more.
  2. Every person that asks about the draft party (myself included) asks if there's alcohol involved, which can only mean one thing (which sportswriters have been suggesting for years): You'd have to be drunk to watch a Hawks game. If you take the next step up the ladder from getting drunk to getting high, you can be the GM!
  3. Just a topic I'll throw out for discussion. With some combination of our 2 picks and trades, we're presumably adding a PG and a C (or someone who can play a little center). Question: Would you rather have a rookie C and a PG with a couple years in the league or an experienced C and rookie PG? And why? Assume it's an either-or situation...in the event we can't add vets at both positions.
  4. I'm so confused....680 the fan said Acie Law with #3. Not sure which media outlet is more worthless.
  5. I'm not sure about Conley at 3, but would be very pleased if we could manage a trade to get the picks for Williams and Jordan, and perhaps a vet as well.
  6. I have to believe you're right. I do think Smoove might have been the subject of some trade talks early on, but it would be a colossally bad marketing move to make him the face of the new uniforms and then trade him a week later.
  7. I don't think Howard can sign it until July, which leaves a draft day trade still a possibility, albeit a remote one.
  8. If BK had his way...
  9. I'd trade Josh Smith over Marvin in a heartbeat. Marvin is coachable, and Josh Smith is about to turn into an $80 million dollar headache if he keeps barking at coaches and airballing jump shots and the end of the game. At that point, Smoove really does become untradeable, just for the wrong reasons.
  10. There's a post on this at http://www.hawksquawk.net/forums/showflat....vc=1#Post231545
  11. Quote: Don't rule out the Kings (10th pick) having made the guarantee either. They're looking for a PG to replace Bibby (presumably gone), and the chances of Conley dropping that far have fallen to nil the past week or so. I'm just saying its a possibility. Also, don't rule out Philly at 12. Saying the Hawks made a guarantee is mere speculation. Although I wouldn't mind Law if we end up keeping the 11th pick.

  13. I agree there will probably be a trade that involves a young up-and-coming vet. Having said that, BK did trade away our second rounder for AJ, so I could be way off on the "young up-and-coming" part. If we do keep the picks, we need to take the most NBA-ready guys in Horford and Law. I definitely like Crit, but he's not ready to start for a couple years.
  14. We don't. Giving up any of our young talent for someone KG's age just doesn't make sense. KG won't do it cause we won't be competing for a championship in the next couple years. We won't do it because we won't be competing for a championship in the next couple years. Stay the course with the young talent and, if we make a trade, it'll be for a young vet.
  15. OK, I'll likely get slaughtered for this, but I'm going to advocate that Josh Smith (not Josh Childress) should be the centerpiece of any draft day deal. Let's get some value for this guy before we have to deal out max money to a cry-baby ball-hog. Before I go any further, let me say that I agree Josh is a great athlete who can dunk, rebound, block shots, and defend very well. If he stuck to those things and kept his mouth shut, I'd be all for keeping him. Probably is, he has an attitude. He thinks he needs to be the go to guy, even after he airballs a couple 3s in a row. This guy shouldn't be allowed to take a shot outside of 12 feet, and he wants to bark at Woody about not feeding him the ball at the end of the game. Unless this guy can accept his role on the team, play the team game, and for the love of anything good in this world stop taking 3's and forcing shots, he needs to go while we can get something for him. Just wanted to get that out there, because reading a lot of these posts, I feel like I'm the only person that has seen JS shoot the ball.
