  1. indeed, nasty ugly stuff. Doesn't look legit though, colors a tad off and I did read that they want the jerseys to be more orange like for instance the syracuse orangemen jerseys.
  2. moneywise, Dallas and Portland look like the best trading partners for LA, however I guess if they trade Shaq they'd rather send him to the eastern conference.
  3. Been curious about Big Al's size for a while now
  4. Man Jay, those reports will be sorely missed, best damn draft reports I've read this year. Justin Young was pretty good too (former nbadraft.net, now in rivalshoop which is paid site content). Couldn't we get some kind of petition going? Either to get Jay back, or to get a public apology or just for the heck of it because if Jay is banned so should all the other reporters? You know it's even worse that workout #5 was with Joshua Smith who has been pegged as the Hawks 6th pick, would have loved to read the inside scoop on him. Keep up the good work though Jay, go Hawks.
  5. Yeah I read something funny about Oden, apparently he's so good he's expected to turn pro after HS, but he says he wants to go to college but but isn't offered any scholarships by colleges because he's deemed to go straight to the NBA. Rivalshoops has him as the top prospect, Derrick Caracter is in the same year btw, another center HS prospect.
  6. Well my view on this is that the size is just one aspect, the players athleticism, wingspan, standing reach and vertical leap all come into play. Brand for instance may be "just" 6'8" but he has a whopping 7'6" wingspan which results in him playing alot bigger.
  7. Well whoever is doing it, count me in
  8. Well I can't wait for the official measurements of Big Al, read that he's 6'8" in shoes, 6'8" bare feet, 6'9" bare feet and of course 6'9" in shoes. I'm also interested in what wingspan he has, standing reach and his vertical leap. Personally I think he'll be a great player in the Elton Brand mold. If Billy wants a 6'10 -7' PF though, perhaps he'll look at Andris Biedrins with the lottery pick or at Johan Petro with the 17th pick (all assuming we don't win the lottery of course, if we do it's Dwight city).
  9. Damn, now suppose nothing special happens in the lottery and we remain at 6, choose Josh Smith while with the 17th pick we choose Al Jefferson (who I think is good enough to actually be in the top 10 but sofar no draft sites have him that high). With the 2nd rounders the first one is for the best talent available who dropped to the 2nd round. Second and third 2nd round picks for say Donta Smith, Tony Allen, Romain Sato, Tim Pickett, Rickey Paulding, Darius Rice, Herve Lamizana, Trevor Ariza, Viktor Krhyapa or Chris Garnett. Sign RFA's Jamal Crawford, Quentin Richardson and Dampier. Resign Stephen Jackson. Opening Night PG/SG JT, JC, Q, SJax, Diaw SF Smith, 2ndrounder, Diaw, Q and Sjax PF Al Jefferson, 2nd rounder, CCrawford, AHenderson C Dampier, 2nd rounder, AHenderson Not perfect, but a big leap toward one exciting run 'n gun team if you ask me. Chris Crawford and Alan Henderson are also ending contracts which should finally give them a good trade value and in the above scenario there's probably not alot if at all caproom left.
  10. I won't lie, this is the best part for me Quote: It might be a testament to Knight’s desire to look into the future to uncover an overlooked gem. Especially since we have several 2nd round picks
  11. He's at 4 here http://www.draftcity.com/mocks/2004.htm I like nbadraft.net, but what you just mentioned is what they do. When things aren't happening (as there aren't any all-star games, regular competition ended and no workouts at the moment) they still shift players stock up and down to keep you interested in the new mock.
  12. Well I'd like to be counted in, but living in europe will make it a handful to get organized on my part. Once the schedule is out and you guys have set a date only then can I determine whether I can get the time off to come to the states.
  13. Avery Johnson has been getting alot of press about becoming a future NBA coach, might be worth a looksy. Looking at the great job Terry Porter has done this is an avenue worth exploring. But yes, I sincerely hope a new coach was decided on before the firing and now they're hammering down the details. Something like that anyway.
  14. They better have a replacement ready, instead of just now searching for the new coach.
  15. Bavetta, well I'm not his biggest fan but Steve Javie is really really bad. Not that he's a bad official but he has on numerous occasions made it about him, while a good ref is just a mediator not a focal point.
  16. I don't know if Blount should have gotten it, but I do think Zach shouldn't have gotten it purely becuase he's still on his rookie salary. A player just a few yrs in the league is supposed to improve.
  17. Actually, wasn't Kemp the "Reign Man" ? At least that's what it said on one of his posters I had back in the day.
  18. Heck I like Stotts too, just thought a "big" name coach would help getting marquee FA's.
  19. Only reason for me to consider that the lottery might be rigged is because of the winners of the lottery. Orlando, Houston, NJ, Washington and Cleveland who were all bottom dwellers in attendance, won the first pick. They all had the worst attendance records, and promptly got a big boost to sustain the health of the franchise. On the contrary, hawks had the worst attendance record last season, but with the team being in progress of sale it's hard to reward it with the 1st pick.
  20. enjoy your break see you when you get back
  21. well Wade and Odom are fun to watch. I'm rooting for the wolves this yr, at least for them to get past the 1st round
  22. sac dallas should be good though, I'm hoping on a 124 - 128 final score (don't care who wins, not my teams, as long as it's a high scoring entertaining game I'll be happy)
  23. Well Ray has an opt out next season, and has had some talks about an extension, if needed even for below the max IF the money saved would go towards getting more talent on the team and not cutting costs. So yeah, things are brewing in Seattle.
  24. You know what I mean Ray is one of the premier shooters in this league. Seattle's problem is that they don't have a good PF or C to have a balanced offense. I would love to add black jesus, but if we don't add a good inside player, preferable through the lottery pick, we can only become a good team instead of a great one.
