  1. I can see the press clippings now! Detroit is a sham! Even the Hawks beat them.
  2. Absolutely, great as always. The stuff is so much better than the crap the ESPN guys do...
  3. I was a little scepticle with the Koonin hire, but he is 100% what the organization needed. He's made me very much appreciate what he's doing. I loved the 'boss's' free ticket idea as I was up that night thinking about how hard it was to get up the next morning.
  4. Yeah, you have to give it up to Korver. He is so much more than I thought he was when he played against him in the past. I always thought he was a JJ Reddick type player. Jus a jumper shooter with no real athletic ability or ability to do grunt work. This dude plays good defense, not just solid defense. He's a great helping defender and gets a lot of blocks for his position. He's also pretty physical on the boards. He's scrappy as evidence by the number of jump balls he's been in lately as well.
  5. You are 100% correct. Every time a team makes a run in the 4th, one of the guys steps up. In years past, a time out would have been called, but I've noticed that Bud trusts them to play through it and as usual, he's right.
  6. It's starting!!!! I remember when Fulton Co Stadium was empty until that 91 Braves season. I also remember stories of people leaving Falcons tickets under their whippers giving them away while in the store only to come and find four more sets under those same whippers when they got back to the car.
  7. That MARTA crap is from some racist $%*&^ from back in the 80s! It actually makes me feel disgusted by members of my own race! There is nothing wrong with MARTA at all or Phillips Area for that matter. I don't care who I sit with as long as they are into the game. That's what makes going to the games special and better than TV.
  8. This was great read and very educational (esp Jimmy Carter). I believe that I am the 'white unicorn', only I'm in Gwinnett. I live and breath Hawks and always have since the early 80's. There are many more that fall into this criteria I'm sure. Speaking as a White Unicorn, I may be able to shed some light on why I don't go to more games. I have been to less than 10 Hawks games in my life time. There are a few reasons why, but the racial makeup of the crowd doesn't affect me one way or the other. I've taken MARTA plenty of times for Falcons games and other events so MARTA isn't an issue for me. For me, it's more convenient to watch the game on TV. I most likely will have a better view and I can rewind plays if I miss them. On a weekday, its hard to muster up the energy to go to a game after a long mentally taxing day at work. Then get up and go back to work the next day. I do miss the atmosphere of the game though., but I get to relax and unwind. That doesn't excuse me not going to weekend games though. This is surely making myself reevaluate myself. I owe the Hawks for all that they are doing/done for me by giving them some of my hard earned money. I vow to go to at least five games this season.
  9. I can't stand Tirico. He is the most biased announcer that I know of that is supposed to be neutral. I remember when he was giving it to the Falcons during the Katrina Bowl game on national TV.
  10. Yes they were. I'm all for Dennis having that edge.....

    Amazing!

I can't wait for the Pistons game. I'm hoping we come out with a chip on our shoulders and show everyone what's up!
  12. It looked intentional to me. It looked like Dennis threw his head back exaggerating the whiplash effect. The reply was from behind the backboard type of view, but from the side it looked like Dennis threw his head back on purpose. Only one person knows for sure though....
  13. Every good team needs someone that plays over the line a little bit and ours just happens to be the smallest guy on our team. There is no way that was unintentional and VC knew it. Pero is a little dirty too. I see him grabbing shorts and jersey's a lot down low to get an advantage, but nothing intentionally physical like Dennis. Dennis has played in some tough leagues growing up because he seems to know the short cuts an is willing to use them.
  14. He doesn't really scare me at all. He's usually good about not turning the ball over and only shoots when he's in rhythm unless the clock is running down. I rather him have the ball than anyone going right now.
  15. It was Holyfield. I've seen him at a few games over the years.
  16. Bring back the Stinger! Or Ferrell wasnt bad at all when he subbed for D21 last year.
  17. I saw the will to win vanish from the Clips in the middle of the fourth quarter. I know I'm a big puss, but every time I watch this team I get a little choked up as the minutes are ticking off the clock with everything this organization has been through. I loved the pregame interview with Teague. Andre asked Teague about Bazemore's OD college team being ranked an Teague just dropped the Mike and left laughing. These guys love each other and play for each other. You just don't see see this in professional sports now days. In the words of Norman Dale, 'I love you guys'!
  18. Loved te article. I wonder when teams will start to model themselves after us. I'm not sure how easy it would be. It takes special people and special players to make this work.
  19. I love the boss letter. I had already given up hope working out in the morning. Now l can be late for work too!
  20. Stu was the best at what he did. RIP Stuart
  21. I think Bud is thinking ahead. He knows we are playing tomorrow night too. He put the starters back in at the end of the game to preserve the win. I hope I wake up in the morning and we are in first place in the East
  22. I think it means that he's never seen us play....
