  1. Usually when you fix something you do it for better things. If it was ratings in this case, they don't go to try to set up one of the least watched finals ever intentionally. Radmanovic's travel was ridiculous though but it didn't change the outcome thankfully
  2. Loved it. Typo at about 2:50 "threw out the playoffs" but otherwise it's awesome!

    JJ's ride

Quote: Hey man thats his money he earned it. We shouldn't be trying to tell him how to live his life. His money, earned it, can spend it how he wants. It's just I wouldn't buy the same thing in his situation, and if it was, it'd be for show and not for regular usage (which I assume/hope is the same for his car)
  4. I'd use it more as a blanket term to include ability to make decisions, ability to plan, run a set offense, etc.
  5. NEW YORK, May 13, 2008 – Kevin Durant of the Seattle SuperSonics and Al Horford of the Atlanta Hawks headline a talented group of rookies named to the 2007-08 T-Mobile NBA All-Rookie Team, the NBA announced today. Horford, the only player unanimously voted to the 2007-08 T-Mobile NBA All-Rookie Team, finished with 58. Durant, winner of the 2007-08 T-Mobile Rookie of the Year award, received a total of 57 votes. Rest of the team was Scola, Thornton and Green http://www.nba.com/news/all_rookie_080513.html
  6. Quote: Quote: He can take over games at will, JJ can't. I agree that McGrady is better, but who was the one who couldn't buy a field goal in the 4th quarters all postseason and who was the one who dropped 20 and "took over" the game? McGrady still scored 40pts on the Jazz. I'd put T-Mac NOW similar to Johnson now, T-Mac old would definitely get it. Also if Arenas wasn't injured, would people put him higher up on the list?
  7. Quote: To me he is the closing thing to a True(talented) PG that is available for the Hawks. We have the pieces to get him and he is like a young Steve Nash. We need a true PG for the betterment of Horford and Joe which is our core. I like Acie but I quickly learned once Al became the future that we need to make changes and fast because we have our cornerstone. He is not Paul or Deron but he is a future stud, without doubt. Memphis is willing to trade him if they draft Rose or we offer J. Smith. Not the Smith is a even swap, but we can get two future 1st rounders for Smith as well like the Knicks recieved for E. Curry. Just a thought... Nah, the only way I'd do a deal with Memphis involving Smith is Smith + Bibby for Conley + Gay + picks which wouldn't happen. I like the deal in the other thread after reading more into it about Marvin to Minnesota for McCants and Brewer.
  8. To be honest, I'd take Horford. It's harder to find someone that dominant at that age, who has as much experience as he has from 2 college champs. Obviously Paul and Roy are good players but sucking in those drafts allowed us to get Horford. If we had Paul we'd be good, but nothing really inside. Roy we'd still be out of the playoffs but he'd still probably score 20 a night. With Horford you can have a talented PG who won't be an All Star but still do very well, just like Howard/Jameer Nelson
  9. Just because I haven't really heard about it, what is up with the Hawks owners? I've heard things around about lawsuits etc, but I've never been able to find anything to read up on the situation.
  10. I say we wait for him. He may not develop to be a Chris Paul-esque PG but he should still be a quality one that can support our team. Also, it'd take some miracle + Horford to get Arenas away from Washington
  11. I'd fire Knight for the bad bad bad bad bad bad bad drafts. Actually only one was horrible (Shelden), Marvin wasn't the best we could've gotten out of it but in reality it wasn't a total waste. I'd keep Woodson for a season but on a short leash - with a few goals for him to fulfill if he wanted to keep his job - say a .500+ record and giving the bench players some more minutes.
  12. For the Bucks, it was clearing Redds contract, moving Williams and Redd out (from what I've read, they're disliked, so assume that) and Bibby is only there for the expiring contract. He'd be let go, they'd have more room. They won't win a championship with Redd, Bogut, Yi and whoever. They'd basically be constantly grasping at a playoff spot but never being able to get there without somehow trading Redd for Kobe Bryant and Gasol (which obviously won't happen), or getting rid of them and building for another few years from scratch.
  13. Yeah unless you can find an irrefutable quote from pre-2005 there's a big chance it's made up. Besides, if we took Paul we wouldn't suck enough to get the high pick for Roy. I still can't believe how well Portland have done in the draft the past 2 seasons.
  14. I don't want Martin either. Never really liked the player to be honest, but mostly because of his contract. Nene has been injured 156% of the time, and just came back from cancer surgery/rehab/not sure, but he had cancer and now he's working back into things. In Milwaukee he'd have a shot at recouperating (sp) slower, instead of being rushed into championship mode. Another thing I didn't honestly think of about this trade is defence - Redd apparently sucks and Camby is only good for blocks and rebounds
  15. Bogut+Redd = Marvin+Bibby, but there's no reason Milwaukee would do it, which is why I offered Nene via Denver.
  16. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trad...p;te=&cash= Apologies for the Redd obsession lately, but he's basically stuck on a Milwaukee squad going nowhere and from a bit of reading from fans, they don't want him or his contract or defence. Getting Camby would give us a proven center, shotblocker, and someone who can help mold Smith and Solo into good shotblockers and better tall guys. Redd would be Redd. Milwaukee would get Bibbys expiring to keep or dump, Marvin as Marvin or to better complement a rebuilding mode, that Green person just to make it work and Pachulia to try and replace Bogut. They'd also get rid of Redd's huge contract Denver would get rid of Camby's contract since they're WAY over the cap. We could get 2 years out of him or so and make a run at the title in the east, he is getting on a bit in years but he's still a good veteran who could help teach. Plus his contract would be gone too (and basically negligible after a season or 2). They'd get Bogut who could easily replace Camby, and Mo Williams who (from what I've read) Bucks fans don't like (they basically wanted Redd and Mo gone). He could play point for Denver which according to this is one position they're looking for (as well as cap relief). (Assuming he can play point - never heard/read much about him anyway) Milwaukee would enter rebuilding phase, Denver would be about the same + cap relief to sign JR smith perhaps, and we'd make a run at the East title + championship. Sign Andersen to get a good backup big or rely on Solo. Our lineup: C - Camby, Andersen PF - Horford/Smith SF - Redd/Smith SG - Johnson (or other way around)/Childress PG - Law Denver: C - Bogut PF - Carmelo/Martin SF - Dunno, Iverson? SG - Kleiza or someone PG - Williams Milwaukee: Wouldn't have a clue what their lineup would be tbh EDIT; This too Denver would dump even MORE off their cap, and Milwaukee gets a still young but injury prone big man who could replace Bogut when healthy. Eh, borderline because of injuries, but who knows.
  17. 1. Dunno, maybe, I haven't seen much of him to be honest except for a little USA basketball where he got crapola minutes. 2/3. Don't know 4. I don't see Portland trading Oden/Roy/Aldridge (how well did they do in that 06 draft, damn) 5. Good-ish, only for 3pointers basically, but I don't think we should give up even Marvin for him. Maybe Kapono and picks for Marvin I'd love to somehow get Rudy Gay from Memphis, but I don't see them trading him since he'll be their future/current star.
  18. Quote: Getting Redd by himself would hurt us becuase there will be too many shots with one ball. JJ, Redd, will get there's, Josh Smith will get his. Marvin and Horford will be screwed and it will mess up the chemistry. This won't work, only if we get a Center it will work becuase them were complete for all of our positions. Horford will still get his. And Bogut can get boards and play defense which he is good at. That works out for the Hawks. Plus money issues of giving Redd, JJ, and Smith big money will hurt not only our bench but our stamina as well because of the season. I think Marvin would be more suited for the bench and Horford would still get 10 and 10 a night, and hopefully learn to clean up on rebounds. Redd and Joe would get 35mins a night and 20 points each, Smith about 30mins and maybe 20points if we're lucky. We'd have Marvin and Childress on the bench which obviously for a #2 pick in Marvin isn't the greatest result, but it's still better than some draft picks. If he can get 15 off the bench a night I'd consider him a success (which gets diminished every time Paul and Deron get better). If Bogut came too we'd have him at C and Horf at PF, Andersen/Zaza backing up Horford. Which would probably push Smith to the bench (not sure if he'd be happy with that when he was demanding a huge contract, he seems to want to be a starter). Having a starting lineup of Law, Redd, Johnson, Smith and Horford and/or Andersen, with Childress and Marv on the bench would be good enough to get at least the second round next season. Offtopic; I have the ESPN draft machine, it gets my hopes up for trades I know won't happen. Edit; Also looking more into it I'd only take Redd with a contract restructure, he's taking home 15 then 17 then 18 next three seasons.
  19. Johnson - 25ppg Acie - 10/8 Horford - 15/10-12
  20. Quote: We freaking send the best team in the league to the brink of elimination with a SICK young team and youre calling for wholesale changes?????????? Adding veterans like Bogut, Redd and Maggette that haven't won in their careers and also WON't win us a championship next year. If you think a team featuring Redd or any used free agent out there will win us a title then you don't watch much basketball. the best thing is continuation. Grow gradually and learn from your mistakes. You guys say trade Bibby, but helloooo without Bibby we don't even make the playoffs. The GM and coach are learning from their mistakes so they deserve to stay. We need to resolve ownership, keep the staff for continuation and continue to develop our young players to learn how to play at a championship level with what we have. Its highly probable that one of the Josh's won't be back so we need to get a shooter and a big man, then solidify our bench. If you notice the NBA is a business of making the playoffs every year and gradually building a championship team. With what we have we can make the playoffs every year we just need to add a little bit and let them grow to get to championship level. We smell sucess for the first time in 9yrs and now everyone wants to be greedy and win a championship next year by trading everybody and bringing in the whole Milwaukee Bucks or LA Clipper team to win a championship next year. Pathetic. Oh by the way like the Atlanta Spirit would say. BIBBY WAS GOOD FOR BUSINESS Eh, Redd/JJ would be up in the league as the best 2-man scoring threat. Bibby is only good because of who he took over, I have confidence that Acie could've filled that role well, except he didn't get much playing time, so now we have Bibby's contract as collateral to teams looking to dump fat ones. I don't agree with exploding the whole team though which is why it was a small Bibby/Redd trade, but I can wholly understand why Milwaukee would tell us to stfu. I think it would be workable but I have no idea what Milwaukee would want aside from less contracts. Getting Redd wouldn't win a championship still, but I think the threat of an outside scorer + everyones playoff experience + Horford not being a rookie + Law getting more time + Andersen coming over + more rotation and experience would help us fly up the league to well over 45 wins
  21. No max but defo resign. Maybe I'm weird but I look at another thing - while Smith isn't the greatest player in the game today, he isn't a total bust. Work on his inconsistency and BBIQ and he'd be a lot better. The thing about Smith is he'll SELL. There's a reason the Nets/Spurs final a few years ago was watched by so few - they're both boring. Smith would sell the [censored] out of tickets for doing backflips down the lane and huge dunks, and also with merchandise. It's another thing to consider. You don't want fans walking out because they're boring as hell
  22. Quote: For the ones who don't know, Michael Redd had a terrible year and was a locker room cancer, not the shooting stud from NBA 2k8. I would only do a deal that had him + Bogut for Marvin and Bibby. That's the only the deal would work. With Bibby being a FA, we have money to attract different talent, no way the Hawks will screw it up getting a 15+ mil shooter only to make to stat boys happy like the Bibby deal. I would like to trade Smith for a true PG like Conley if Memphis lands Rose. Cool, Marv/Bibb for Redd/Bogut works perfectly. Mil gets rid of a huge contract next season, we get a center, they get younger, we get better.
  23. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trad...7~1~1&te=&cash= Heh, I know that won't happen unless Carmelo is almost hated in Denver, plus I assume him and AI are basically best friends and obviously one of the best combos in the league, they just can't get it done in the west. Nene would give us an inside presence when he isn't injured.
  24. Quote: Mike Bibby for MIchael Redd? They would laugh in our face. That would be almost as suicidal as Gasol for Kwame and Critt. Why the hell would they do that? Guess you don't think we'd get that lucky ;D Redd isn't going anywhere in Mil, he deserves to be on a winning team but at this rate he'll be 35 by the time Mil is built up. This gives him a chance to go to a (now) legit playoff contender and launch 3s all he wants. Milwaukee get out of Redd's huge contract because Bibby's would expire next year. Also, that trade was just one that worked, I'd assume we'd have to add in a few other players because as it is it's GROSSLY one-sided for us (hence the luck we'd need)
