  1. His weight was a weakness. I didn't see anything about his durability. I question why it would be a concern as he wasn't injured in college or high school I will let Andy Katz answer this:
  2. Durant: You know what Dolf, we agree to disagree, because you won't concede and I'm right!
  3. Dude this was your response to me....... I think the pre-draft stuff I posted showed he was a can't miss guy......
  4. Again that never said he was questionable talent lol. They are pointing out the weaknesses. But, the final verdict is he is a good safe pick at #1 that could be a superstar and he has the NCAA chops to back it up. Kareem was the only player who had succeeded as much as Davis had before the draft.
  5. Every player has weaknesses. The stuff I've posted say this. But, nobody was saying the Pelicans would trade the pick for anybody. It was a non-starter they wanted him and only Lebron or Durant would have gotten them to trade. The questions were more about fit than they were about his ability. http://www.nba.com/draft/2012/prospects/anthony-davis/
  6. I'm not talking about this board lol. I rarely agree with this board. I'm talking scouts. The scouts were sold on Davis. http://www.mynbadraft.com/NBA-Draft-Profiles-2012/Anthony-Davis
  7. He also said this: You hit and you miss. I never saw Davis mentioned as anything, but the guy to take and the Pelicans were never discussing not taking him. Same with Griffin etc. These guys dominated in college. I don't see than in any of these guys.
  8. Scout.com Just found this on ESPN: Draft Analysis Davis has the chance to be a superstar. He has the potential to be a Tim Duncan/Kevin Garnett hybrid and win multiple Defensive Player of the Year awards. He also will be better offensively than people think. Davis is the perfect piece to build around for the Hornets. -- Chad Ford Draft Results Player Evaluations By Chad Ford Overall Rank 1 Position Rank 1 Hollinger PER 35.71 Projection No. 1 Pick New Orleans Hornets Positives Long, athletic wing Excellent rebounder and shot blocker Good ball handler for his size Excels at taking people off the dribble Can defend multiple positions Tough Terrific motor Negatives Needs to add strength/muscle Still figuring out how to play in the post
  9. Interesting. I saw more stuff like this: Clearly Davis is one of the premier players in the class. He seems to fit best at power forward, but with his rebounding and shot blocking skill he could play center, and then he is athletic and skilled enough to be a small forward as well. Once he gets stronger, which he will, his potential is nearly limitless. Davis has the look of a big time NBA player down the road. Strengths Multi-Positional Rebounding Shot-Blocker To Improve Strength
  10. Anthony Davis was a can't miss type guy. Horf for Davis would of been a no brainer, hence the reason that pick was never on the block. If any of these guys were can't miss picks teams wouldn't even discuss a trade. Hell, even the year Al came out nobody was looking to move out of the top 3.
  11. WTH is that team doing? This years team without Horf is better than that team lol
  12. If Horf was in this draft coming out of Florida where do y'all think he would go?
  13. Stephenson in his rookie season? No. The product he is today? Yeah. But, that will take time. Come on stop with the Olajuwon and Dwight stuff man. Embid will be lucky to be Horford or Brooke Lopez. Their is always a big man that comes along and seems like a can't miss. Remember this guy from 1998?
  14. I'm not trading Horf for these guys. We might just end up with a D. Stephenson type @ 15. I think trading Horf because of injury concerns for Embid(umm? back?) is insanity. The only way I can even consider it is if we are just torching the whole thing and going for the complete rebuild. Just be bad if that is the route you want to go and I'll just put the games in picture in picture mode for the next 2-3 years until this thing gets back on track: PG: Schröder SG: Youngster or Pick SF: youngster or Pick PF: Bebe or pick C: Bebe, Pero or Pick
  15. How I feel every time I wonder into one of these bash Ferry/Tank threads......
  16. People throw out Pierce as the Celtics Superstar to build towards those championships. Melo is just as good as Pierce. Melo is as good as Ray Allen. Don't forget he was Bucks then Seattle and not very accomplished team wise. If we bring him here we can then flip Milsap or Teague for or both to get the 3rd guy. I think Al and Melo plus the likes of Kyrie Irving(not saying Kyrie. He has to stay healthy) gives a great chance. Or maybe Melo raises Al, Milsap, and Teagues game? Who knows. I just think people are too hard on Melo.
  17. My point. lol People act like having PP got the Celtics KG and Shuttlesworth.
  18. Y'all kill Melo, but think Paul PIerce is so great. Paul Pierce was Melo before KG and Shuttlesworth arrived.
  19. Exactly my point. @AHF is only cherry picking the successes for All-NBA. Yes, they compose the most the majority of the team, but what percentage of their peers from lottery to lottery never even make the playoffs with their respective teems. Annnnnnnnd how many are on the same team? All NBA is a subjective vote the highly rates winning. A team with multiple stars and deep playoff runs have multiple All-NBA guys Yes. Well said. And on this Paul Pierce thing. Al Horford is comparable to early Paul Pierce. Not in game style, but stature. People keep saying he can't attract free agents. If PP can he can.
  20. But, that narrative is not correct. Just look at the names. You have to get that guy. Not one of the guys, that particular guy. Lebron, Kobe, Shaq, Duncan, Jordan, Hakeem(but, with Jordan out the league). Its not like getting a great player does it through the draft. You have to hit on that one. This is much harder than in FA knowing that one and making your best swing at them. To put it more bluntly, had we have had the luck of choosing Clyde Drexler, Barkley, Kevin Durant, any other none Heat or Spurs player, we would most likely still be a 2nd round team. Look at the Clippers.
  21. why guess? http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-much-is-winning-the-nba-draft-lottery-really-worth/
  22. Where are you getting this 40% from? That is way to high. I would guess you have a 15% chance of getting an All-NBA guy in the top 10 of any draft.
  23. I remain questioning if tanking will get you a Superstar as well. Look if you get Lebron or Durant the year you tank. Great. The great ones only come every 3/4 years. It is not quite the slam dunk you argue it to be.
  24. Assuming that the lottery is fixed, why would you want to gamble on that? That is some ass backwards thinking. That is like going to the Fair and putting your mortgage payment on hitting shots on that rim that is smaller than the ball lol
  25. I want another look at Peanuts. Just seeing the difference in Scott after a Summer with this staff, I think we owe it to the team to see what they can do with him. He has all the attributes of an excellent player physically, but he is just really young. Derrick Williams is a tweener and very much Mike Scott.
