  1. No, he was chosing between Warriors and Hawks, he simply choose the better contract and that is why GS matched Clippers offer for Azubuike. GS prefered Evans to Azubuike and Pietrus I suppose as they did not try to resign him.
  2. I don't see much difference between both of them. Pietrus makes 5M$ if I remember well, he is more a SF than a SG, I think Evans is better defender and you will not get from him twice the production Evans will give you. I also liked to sign Pietrus even ahead of Childress and that was because he was a cheaper better fit option but the signing of Evans is also great. For the money we offered to Chill we could have Evans and Pietrus or Evans, Hermann and Kwame, sure we will miss Chill but the production of those players combined can give you is better by far than the production Chill gave. The problem with all this is that I have the feeling that ASG will not make anymore than signing Evans and save the rest of the money and that is the main reason why we will miss a lot Chill this season. And about GS they prefered to sign Evans to a cheaper deal than to sign either Pietrus or Azubuike, there should be a reason for that, eventhough I don't understand the issue with Azubuike, for me he would have been the perfect fit in Atlanta.
  3. Remember we dont´want either Evans or Pietrus to start. Agree that Pietrus could be better player but why GS did not resign him? The truth here is that we needed a SG not a SF as both JJ and Marvin can play SF and that a bench player should be a cheap player. If you assess production/price Evans is better option than both Pietrus and Childress, that is a fact and nobody can argue about that. Not looking to not spend money just to have as much money as possible to sign your starters.
  4. No way they give us Thornton also and take Speedy´s contract. A deal Smith for Kaman is the fair trade eventhough I still doubt they do it.
  5. No way LAC do that deal, they send their starting C for a old role player and a young prospect that still has do nothing.

    Hamed Ehadadi

Just for the record I just checked Rocky Mountain summer league stats: Ehadadi 14 ppg 11,5 rpg 2,5 bpg shooting 0,647%FG and 0,600%FT, the bad thing 4,5 TOpg. Sounds about right for a center.
  7. Agree Childress is the better player but I think Evans is the best fit: - Provides so much needed 3pt shooting, outside of JJ and Bibby who else can shot the 3. Will open the defense and create space to score inside. - Play perimeter defense, we don't have perimeter stoppers. - Will not steal as much minutes from Marvin as JC did, simply as one stole the minutes from the other none of them could achieve his full potential. - Marvin and Childress were similar players wing players with no outside game. You need different options to win games. We cannot afford to have 50% of our wing players not capable of shooting behind the arc, that is ridicolous. - 2,5 M$ for a bench guy is the right thing, you just cannot pay 8M$ to a bench guy that is impacting the development of one of your up and coming young players. I think the right way for this team should be more FA signings like Evans, cheap proven bench players that strength your team while keeping your salary low and present an attractive core for FA to sign with this team. Try to think this way, for 2010 summer when all the star FA will come out you could have had a team with a young core of Law, JJ, Marvin and Horford and bench players like Duhon, Evans, Hermann, Fazekas and Kwame Brown all of them signed for 2M$ maximum that gives you a cap space of around 25M$, would not be a place you will consider if you are for example Chris Bosh?
  8. That´s not bad but Noah and Hinrich are a risk although they fill a need. Noah is skinny young center that has shown some promise but has character issues and does not have the physical tools to dominate. Hinrich is a good player, last year he was just terrible, not worth a 5m$ contract and he makes10M$, you should wait a lot more from a 10M$ PG, I hope he fixes it. Could we also add Shefolosha?. Hinrich/Law/Speedy JJ/Evans Marvin/? Horford/Thomas Noah/Zaza/Morris

    Atl-lac

That´s horrible but what about a S&T Josh Smith for Kaman, I think it works both ways. LAC got a up and coming young PF to replace Brand, a guy that can do all and would complement well with Carmby and Thornton. A combination of Carmby and Josh Smith gives you a nasty shot-blocking frontcourt. It´s a better combination than Kaman and Carmby as both are Centers. ATL gets his much needed Center and can move Al to the PF position where seems he is more suited for. Kaman's contract is 10M$ and he fills a need. We rebuild around JJ, Horford and Kaman, Marvin can become the 2nd offensive option, if he does not progress we don´t resign him and have cap space to sign a big FA on 2009 or a superstar on 2010 when Speedy's contract is out.

    2008 Bench

Hi guys! I'm new posting though I've been following the forum long time ago. Just wanted to know your opinion about some guys I think could provide some help. Sund has said he wanted to add two bigs. We already have Morris, what about Harrison? He is a legit 7footer center that has great upside and could become a good role player and I think he could be signed cheap 1,5M$?. On limited minutes he provided decent stats, now we lost Kwame I think he could provide more help than Zaza. Other bigs I would consider are Fazekas a PF with great size and good shot that provides something different to the frontcourt and Magloire that could be a defensive presence although I doubt we can sign Magloire cheap. I would also like to give a opportunity to Gelabale, a athletic G/F that can provide scoring from the bench, defense and can shot the 3pt. He could also be signed cheap and on limited minutes he proved his worth on Seattle Thoughts?
