  1. First of all JJ and whoever they choose between Smith and Horford for Dwight straight do not work, Orlando should include another player to match salaries. If JJ goes to Orlando one of J Richardson and JJ Reddick should go. For me either Smith and JJ for Dwight and Redick or Smith, JJ and Hinrich for Dwight, Richardson and Duhon would be good. My preferences for the first one. Teague/Hinrich Redick/Green Marvin/TMac Horford/RadMan Dwight/Zaza/Collins For me this is an upgrade over what we have, Redick is a good shooter, Hinrich should have to backup SG and PG positions and Marvin should have to step up as he is doing on the wing to provide scoring BUT you have the best frontcourt on the NBA with Horford and Howars, both have at least 4-5 more years at full strength and we still mantain enough outside shooting and remember that SG and SF are the easiest positions to fill on the NBA. For me it's a no-brainer for Atlanta but I don't think Dwight would like to come here.
  2. Perhaps but TMac was playing PG and SG successfully for Pistons last year and do not have the strength to play SF and Rad has not the strength and the size to play PF. I would prefer Manny Harris over Green and Stackhouse, cut Sloan and sign two bigs, DJ Mbenga, Fresenko, Dampier or whoever at Center and a PF.
  3. Sorry from that list only Zaza, Hinrich and perhaps Green and T Mac are usable players. I don't like what I have seen from TMac
  4. So finally we have Teague/Pargo/Sloan/Kirk Hinrich JJ/TMac/Green/Stackhouse Marvin/Radmanovic Josh Smith/ Ivan Johnson Horford/Zaza/Collins Am I the only one who sees too many guards locking a spot on the roster and not bringing anything to the team like Stackhouse or Sloan? There are 8 GUARDS!!!! Has anyone seen anything on Sloan??? We are really thin at the frontcourt, why not keep Benson??? why not send him to the D-League? Come on 6'11" and a blocking machine and you waive him? I would cut 2 guards to sign 2 bigs, One center and one PF. For the record Manny Harris has been cut and so Greg Smith. Harris would be better than Green and Greg Smith perhaps could do something for us, I just don't get it.
  5. I think right now it should be: 1. Miami 2. Chicago 3. NY 4. Boston 5. Indiana 6. Atlanta 7. Orlando 8. Milwaukee/Washington I cannot think why anyone on this board would think we are better than NY, Douglas, Fields, Carmelo, Amare and Chandler, no way we can compete with that starting 5, however they lack depth, that could be one advantage for us, anyway I think at the end they will have a better record. Boston is still better than us, Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Garnett, O'Neal, Green, Bass, Wilcox... I don't think we go ahead of them, they keep the same core and we are worse this year without Crawford. Indiana has improved a lot, I think the addition of Mayo and West put them ahead of us, plus they have more depth, they clearly improved while we are the worse, Indy will pass us. Collison > Teague Granger = Johnson Mayo > Marvin West = Smith Hibbert = Horford, anyway for a Center perhaps is even better Hibbert The clear advantage for them is on the bench Hill Paul George Brandon Rush Tyler Hansbrough Jeff Foster is way better than Hinrich, McGrady, Radmanovic, Pachulia and Collins, not talking about upside where they have a clear advantage over us, many of their players are growing and have not touch their limit, Collison, Mayo, Hibbert, Paul George, Hill, Tyler Hansbrough... they will be better than us for years to come. The only thing that can put us again on the mix is - Players know each other - Defense, if they are able to play consistently the same defense they played on the playoffs. - Teague factor, if he is able to reproduce on a regular season the same stats he put on the playoffs, he can be the real difference to be better than we are. If that is the case perhaps he could be better than Collison, right now until he proves he can do it we cannot say that. - FA signing, SG that can score on the bench and a Quality big.

    Craig Smith?

He has been waived by Clippers, I think he could be a nice addition for the Hawks and a good replacement for Josh Powell, he could provide rebounding and scoring inside. What do you guys think? I don't think we can get any decent center out there.
  7. I hope it's true for two main reasons: - 1st, we get a quality replacement for Crawford, a scorer off the bench and a 3pt threat. - 2nd, Atlanta is a team quality FA consider, that would be a huge step forwards compared to past years. McGrady could also help to add other veterans looking for an opportunity on the playoffs. Again I hope it's true but I really really doubt it, I have on confidence on the Hawks been able to bring him or any FA like him.
  8. Seems that Greg Smith will attend Heat camp, it's a shame we would be also a great fit here.
  9. I would sign McCamey and Lightly, both fills need on the roster, 3rd PG and a defensive specialist on the wing. Some more information on them, McCamey has good assist to TO ratio and provides three point shooting, something we really need Name of external link Lightly can do a little bit of everithing, best A/TO ratio of all wing prospects, best steal avg and a defensive specialist, he also shoots with acceptable percentages and has good PER, I would love to see him on Hawks roster. Name of external link
  10. I think we should target either of Marshon Brooks - "he who's name shall not be mentioned" II Keith Benson - Legit center, needs to add strength but a good shotblocker Jeremy Tyler - Big with good potential Demetry McCamey - Good PG, has not had a brilliant season but could become a good backup I think we have good chances of having at least one of them wih our 2n rounder, any of them could contribute next season, perhaps Jeremy Tyler could need some time to develop
  11. That was exactly my point, if he proves he is healthy he will be demanding more thant 3 M$ a year, now we could sing him for a reasonable contract for 2 or 3 years and hope he is healthy enough. He could be a great addtion to our team and while is not as good on defense as Marvin is definately better than Jamaal an a good scorer. 14,4ppg, 5 rpg, 1, 6 apg, 1,3 3pt, 0,8spg, 0,7 bpg while shooting 0,464% and 0,448% from 3 pt is better than any of the bench players we have had on last 10 years not named Crawford and can be signed cheaper
  12. He could be signed to reasonable contract, provide scoring off the bench, explosiveness and some defense, he would be a great upgrade over our bench, could challenge Marvin for the starting job and could make Jamaal expendable, he would be a great fit here, in my opininion better than Brewer and Thornton, thoughts?
  13. On the last games since Bibby left Teague is +6 against Denver +5 against Portland +24 against GS -5 against Phoenix In fact yesterday Denver cut the lead when Jamal replaced him at PG. Definately he is struggling on the offensive end but is playing well enough defensively 1, 4 SPG to earn the minutes. I would keep him on the starting lineup giving him around 25 minutes to develop him if he keeps playing the same way. I still think he can become a good offensive player.
  14. The deal seems to be Bibby, Evans and Jordan Crawford for Hinrich and Hilton Amstrong, source rotoworld
  15. The key points: - We need an upgrade at PG badly. - There are a lot of good PG available on a trade: Felton, Sessions, Harris, Brooks, A. Miller, Mo Williams... that would be definately an upgrade over what we have. - We have the assets to get it done: Huge expiring contract (Crawford), young SF with no so huge contract that could flourish on other team (Marvin), Young talent (Teague), picks.... I just say: Sund get it done and do a deal. I would say my preferred options would be: - First round pick for Brooks. - Crawford for Harris - Mo and Teague for Sessions
  16. He was considered one of the top talents of last years class. He had an inconsistent season on Minny last year and is clearly behind Ridnour and Rubio who will come next year. He is still a great PG prospect and would be a great addition for us. Would you do Jamaal Crawford for Johnny Flynn and Martell Webster or C. Brewer, we could even include a 1st rd pick on the trade. For the Hawks is a no brainer, we get our PG of the future for a SG that will leave us next year. Flynn provides us the so much needed PG. Minny gets the starter SG they need and a veteran leader for their rebuilding process. They can choose to resign him or let the 10M$ come off the books, they also clear the jam at the wings and a 1st rd pick.
  17. I think is just the opposite, when Teague has been given meaningful minutes he is improving his A/TO ratio. In the last 5 games when he has played twice 18 min he has averaged 7 ppg, 4 apg, 1 TO. On the rest of the games he hasn't even achieve 10 min. Of course his decision making needs to improve, he is playing his first true NBA season and is going to make mistakes, he has to learn the game... but the kid can penetrate, defend and dish the ball, he has the tools to become a good NBA player. The key point is that we are not going to win less games if we play Jeff, there are many games where Mike has done nothing to win the game, we have had enough lead and he remains on the floor, it has no sense. In fact I cannot even believe he has not played 30 minutes in one game this season!!!! Mike has become more a shooter than a PG, the ball is more often on Joe and Jamal's hand, the PG on this team is not the typical distributor and that opens even more opportunities for minutes for Teague as he is not going to be pressured to lead the offense. In fact I really don't like it as I understand that is going to be very difficult to develop a PG under these circunstances. And for all of you who don't believe he has to play closer to 30 Min at least in some games I will bring back the fist season of one player. 23,5 MPG, 6,4PPG, 3,8 APG, 1,8 TO, 1,6 SPG. His name? Rajon Rondo. Don't you think Jeff could put even better stats, except Steals?? You will never have a true PG if you don't invest time on developing him.
  18. We need to develop this guy!!! Bibby is playing well, but his defense is poor and we get destroyed by opposing PG. He is getting old, need a replacement and giving him rest on some games would allow to keep him fresh for when is needed. Jeff is beginning to play well when is given the chance, is not the same as the beginning of the season when he was struggling. There have been games as Bucks game where he could have played 30 minutes and still win the game but he isn't, at the end what can we loose? We will still win the game and give Mike some rest. We need to develop him and give him playing experience, we need him for the playoffs, how can we stop Felton, Rondo, Nelson, Rose, Jennings, Holiday or Collison? Bibby is not going to do it. I think Jeff could average 11 ppg, 5,5 apg, 1spg if given 30 mpg, that is enough for me for our starting PG on his first true NBA season. Thoughts?
  19. I asked for it last April and then bring the topic back some weeks ago: PLEASE SIGN JOSH BOONE!!!!!!!!!! SIGN JOSH BOONE! He would be definately an upgrade over Zaza, Collins and Powell, he is still young and could develop into a fantastic role player. Rebounds, blocks, defense... Josh can provide it all
  20. Just wanted to bring again the topic, please SIGN JOSH BOONE!!! I think is the best available big out there, can rebound, block some shots, play defense and is still young and could develop into something better, do you really want to try Collins, Morris or Joe Smith again? Please!!!! I would complement Boone with Earl Barron also.
  21. If he is going to lower his demands I don´t think we have any chance of signing him. If you still think that we have a shot at him after all the talk and the Hawks refusing to overpay for him either you don´t know Shaq or is not the same Shaq I have known for years. My guess is that he signs for a contender for 4-5 M$.
  22. You must be joking if you intend to compare Kurt Thomas vs Rasheed Wallace. Rasheed has been a reference Center 10 years on the league, Kurt is no more than a backup, he will be destroyed by Dwight, we have zero chances with him, at leas the other two have some size.
  23. Kurt Thomas is a 37 year old 6-9 post player, if we want to face Dwight we must do better than that
