  1. As far as literally "paying attention", not only was Smoove on the sideline (probably a requisite thing) but the ENTIRE Hawks coaching staff was on the baseline, providing support and hopefully taking some notes when it comes to motivating players. ~lw3
  2. Postgame interviews by Angel, Marynell "Kool Moe Dee" Meadors, Izi Castro-Marques, and Armintie Price http://www.wnba.com/video/wnba/2010/09/08/20100907postangelmov-1409969/ ~lw3

  4. Finals schedule: http://www.wnba.com/playoffs/2010/10_finals_schedule.html "Home" games are Thursday, September 16 and (hopefully, if necessary) Sunday, September 19. However... because of Elmo and Friends (remember last year?), once again the Dream, who were expected to be totally done by now, probably won't be playing at Philips Arena. Back to Gwinnett Arena, perhaps? (I'm pulling for Kathy Betty to arrange for the Thrillerdome!) ~lw3
  5. :friends1: :worshippy: :headphones: :line dance: :thumbsupsmileyanim: LET'S GO DREAM! EASTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS! (that don't even sound right... let me say that again) EASTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS!!! ~lw3

  13. http://www.wnba.com/games/20100905/ATLNYL/gameinfo.html Tickets still on sale (although it's great to see the middle seats are sold out). If you ever "dreamed" of witnessing an Atlanta basketball team win its conference and make the Finals, live, this could be your chance: https://oss.ticketmaster.com/html/pack_planlist.htmI?l=EN&CNTX=&team=wnbaatlanta&selID=49 The Liberty won every one of the shooting-percentage battles (including 7-17 from three, vs. 1-5 by ATL), but could hardly do anything on the boards when Sancho or Erika was in the game. Sancho was the game-ball player tonight, as the Dream went small-ball again and put her in at center, bringing Erika off the bench. She made a few Horfordesque jumpers to get things going early, aggressively stripped the ball away on several occasions, and snared every critical rebound during the game, including one where she tossed an outlet pass to Armintie Price for a wide open layup, snubbing a late Libs run and sealing the victory. Outside of Sancho, the starters were all over the place FG-wise (11-for-42), but leading scorer McCoughtry mercilessly attacked the glass and was focused at the line (13-for-17). Angel carried her team in stretches offensively when New York's MVP runner-up Cappie Pondexter was going off on the other end of the floor. Angel's aggressive play created lots of whistles and had the New York fussing with the refs all night. The Dream took 17 more trips to the foul line and made 12 more FTs. The bench mob came in and made big baskets, and oft-maligned Shalee Lehning was superb in driving and passing the ball, as well as surprisingly burying the sole three pointer to keep the Liberty at bay. Excellent coaching once again by the Meadors-Ross team, the WNBA's Woody-Drew tandem done right. ~lw3

  16. No idea if the Falcons even batted an eye when Matt Leinart got released today. Any way they would want something behind Ryan other than Redman and JPW? ~lw3

  22. Is Sy a tough guy? I haven't Sy-n enough to know for sure. ~lw3 (nvm, I just missed Diesel's assessment. Reading Is Fundamental...) Different question: not a critique, but just curious why Sy could not make it onto L'Equipe Francaise for this FIBA toruney. Has he done any Eurobasket-type stuff yet? ~lw3
