  1. Something just get's into Zaza's system when he sees that green uniform.....I don't know what to make of it?? Al also plays like his hair is on fire against them more times than not also. Tired..smired; I don't give a you know what. So glad to see those folks in green leave with a bit of distaste. Me >>>>>>>>> :sarcastichand:
  2. We have to play hard every night...it's not 1 player that I can point at. As a collective this team takes plays off and have stretches in a game/season where it looks like they're just fake hustling out there. And that lends into the inconsistency and the on and off/up and down play this season. I like the fact that we're a bit quicker since the trade but i would love to see us really try to make a point to play fast at all times. But then we turn back into this moderate paced jump shooting team. To me it's all about a mindset and it starts from training camp and is installed from there. This team has never really decided on how they want to play regardless of the opponent outside of shooting long jumpers at the end of the shot clock. Denver took over that game about midway through the 2nd quarter.......I could feel it. I looked at the demeanor and the way the Hawks were communicating on the court and it was drab. Almost like let's just get through this one.
  3. Very tough one to get with of course the altitude and this new look Denver squad is actually playing defense unlike they have since Mutumbo/RPack days. They were resting last night waiting so I don't expect a blowout win like some of us :thumbsdownsmileyanim: but a very close actually defensive struggle.
  4. So you thinks it's coincidence this team looks light years quicker on D and getting run outs galor all of a sudden causing the last 2 opponents looking like D-league teams on offense?? You don't think the combo of having 2 Pgs that can stay in front of their man and create pressure is some due to Hinrich's ability. I saw a play where Miller or Matthews...I forget who it was at the end of the shot clock trying to break down Hinrich going to the basket and failed miserably throwing up a prayer that wasn't answered and the Hawks had a easy run out. Put Bibby in there and i can almost guarantee a foul would have been made or he would have got blown by creating several openings. I like the prospects of having Hinrich/Teague running the point 60/40 or 70/30 if that's feasible. That was a pipe dream when Bibby was here to get Teague that kind of playing time. I like where this is going so far.
  5. I totally agree...that's the Josh i can live with and will allow him to take his share of jumpers if he can mix it up in the paint like he did tonight. Very disruptive defensively the last 2 games against a high scoring Warriors squad and a decent Portland team that was hot lately. I got to admit i was feeling like after the Phoenix loss this team needed some kind of trade that could inject some life into them. And that's exactly what happened cause you know you always try to impress your new co-workers. The Hawks as a team are trying to whooo Kirk and vice versa and it's working so far. Makes the rest of this year all of a sudden very interesting from a Hawks fan stand point with these huge games coming up. Denver tonight, Chicago then OKC and NY at home. It's kind of fun for me again. :jumping11:
  6. Thanks,,,y'all talked him up. :conversation:
  7. The last 2 games have been the most confused and hectic i've seen any opponent of the Hawks all year. Their extremley active with their hands not only challenging shots but the pass....that's what's making it fun to watch all of a sudden. 1st time in quite a while i can actually feel some energy coming thru the TV from the Hawks. My thing is how we out boarded them, that makes me :thumbsupsmileyanim: Yeah it got a litle dicey at the end but this is the effort and passion i've been wanting to see all year on a consistent basis and then i can live with the results thereafter.
  8. I hope the Thrashers stay here in Atlanta.......although they've fallen flat on their faces after such a promising start earlier this season.
  9. Hmm....never really paid any attention to this rep thing. I guess it's OK.
  10. He is, Josh has a lot of flaws but Marvin is flawful.
  11. I agree with everything you said campster and I'd like to add the pace we play at is waaay to slow and deliberate. For a team as undersized as we are, we really need to get out and run till exhaustion. There is no reason why Al & Josh shouldn't be getting all types of Alley Oop dunks and run out layups all game long. But as long as this particular brass has been together their content to lounge in this moderate paced jump shooting style of offense. We're never really going anywhere of note playing the way we play. Josh should be the one catching those Alley Oops not throwing them..we got chit backwards. We need to completely develop a fast paced of game mindset.....it doesn't have to be Phoenix/Golden St. break neck speed style just get it going a bit. This team plays like they have size like the Lakers. This has to start from training camp...get a PG in here that will take control of this team and stop letting Josh rebound the ball and do whatever he wants with it and hold him accountable. Bibby Jamal and Joe allows him to control the ball far too much, he should be running ahead on breaks and trying to establish position in the lane early, getting offensive rebound put backs galore using his athleticism. Instead of being the trail leg. And as mush as we get on Josh about shooting a lot of jumpers this whole team is guilty of that, if our shooters are off we are in trouble against anybody cause we don't have the mental toughness to say: OKay, let's stop shooting so many jumpers and penetrate to the basket so much until the refs have no choice but to call some fouls and then maybe we can get some open looks from outside. I've said this since last year....THIS TEAMS PACE OF PLAY IS A DETRIMENT TO IT'S ROSTER. You always get the feeling the other teams is dictating how the game is going to be played with the Hawks, the really good teams play their style and pace no matter what and whether it works or not at least they're going at it the way they like. Even when the Hawks have leads in games i'm never really sure cause of the consistent inconsistency they play at. From game to game; winning a tough game against the Heat 1 night and then completely forgetting where the hoop is an getting blew out by 40 the next. It's also within the game where they can be completely destroying an opponent and then fall flat on their face the next quarter. So 3 things: 1.Pace of Play 2. Effort 3. Focus These are things that this core should be past by now, so what does that tell me?? Well I see it as this teams is at it's peak, a 2nd round knockout. It is what it is.
  12. Amare is full of it and can :*ss: Horford isn't some childish goof, have you watched Amare at times?? The guy can be a complete douche on the court himself. If i had out boarded my opponent 15 to 4 i would be woofing too. Amare is a fake tough guy. When it's time to really bring it...Yeah, he'll score you 30 but grabs a measly 4 boards and then talks smack thru the media.
  13. I guess i'm not the only one who thinks Amare is a fake tough guy.. He's a very talented aggressive offensive player, there's no doubt about that.. But when it comes to relying on him to grab that huge rebound or have a great defensive game that your teams really needs.. He falls short consistently, the kind of player that will come out and score you 35 in a playoff must win but end up with 4 boards while the guy he's checking gets 15... He wants the spotlight but doesn't want to do the dirty stuff it takes at times to secure wins...Phoenix grew tired of this
  14. No...not really.. Although you never really know what's around the corner.. I can't see Cleveland or NJ being on the same level .. Maybe in 2 years..and that's a big MAYBE.. Next.. :newspaper:
