What did you guys think of Kobe's first game with extended (16) minutes?
He played under control and was really solid defensively. I hope he continues to get some minutes.

OO will have spent the entirety of his rookie contract as a backup after being the #6 pick .
I hope he finishes out the rest of the season as the starter. We need to see what that looks like. If not starting, he still at least needs to play 30 mpg.
I don't think CC will be back before the Allstar break, so we get to see OO as the starter at least for the next 4 games.
He has played better his last 5 games:
They absolutely have to pivot to starting OO and giving him the lion's share of minutes with Jalen. Continuing to start Clint does nothing to preserve his trade value anymore. The league has spoken on that.

Our biggest issue was this:
......teams come barreling in looking for bargain deals and presentimg their bargain offers.
The very public 'EVERYBODY BUT TRAE AND JJ Available' - again very problematic.
We just need a very different approach to the how our players are so 'PUBLICLY' readily available for so long every TDL and Offseason. And then of course we do nothing.
Their reputation here needs work. The messaging needs to be better and they have to do more to push back publicly when some in the media push their agenda driven narratives.

Trae is an amazing offensive engine but it seems like the team needs a defensive engine to make this work consistently (similar to how GS had Draymond to anchor and orchestrate the defense while Curry could drive the offense).
A number of things broke the Hawks way for sure, but I can't get down with calling the ECF run a fluke. That team had some elements that the Hawks haven't had since.

Teams want him badly. But they want his value to appear low to the Hawks. It's all for his perceived trade value. "Nobody wants Trae, let me have him for 1 pick and salary match"
The Trae disrespect and hate is sooo disingenuous. These jokers know how good he is and would LOVE to have him while screwing the Hawks over in the process.

Nope, they can't. But, that won't stop the media and other teams clamoring for Trae to be in one of there preferred markets. It's irritating, but the Hawks have failed to do their job in building a good team around Trae.

My biggest regert is we sat Murray when we could've presumably won last night had he played.
This. If they weren't close to a deal, it made ZERO sense to sit him.

Trades are exciting in the moment, until you realize your team made a bad one. No deal is better than a bad one all day, every day.
Now, time to start Onyeka and (hopefully) get Bufkin some minutes. There is simply no reason to start Capela anymore.

This seems like a solid return for PJ (depending on the protection of the first).

Yeah it'd be nice if we can move to a Trae/DJ/Hunter/JJ/OO lineup for the rest of the season. Those 5 don't even make our top 20 5 man lineups for the season (i think) so I'd like to see it.
Agreed. There really is no further incentive to keep starting Clint to preserve his value. As of this deadline, that ship has sailed.
2 minutes ago, theheroatl said:Because the media perpetuates that all Hawks players are overvalued by them and should be worth only a 2rp in order to facilitate a move to a large market team.
Facts.

I don't get why Clint supposedly doesn't have much value. He's still the league leader in offensive rebounding and only has a year left on his deal.

The change that needs to happen is moving OO to the starting lineup. It's time. Forget these "let's fleece the Hawks" deals.

If the Pels wouldn't take Capela instead of OO, yeah move on. No need to get fleeced.

Yeah, the price is going to be sky high for both DJ and Onyeka. I wouldn't be including Onyeka in this.
