  1. If Jones is so good and perfect for the Rockets, then why would they trade him?
  2. Rudy is going to have issues with whatever team he's on, that's what happens when you shoot under 40% on 20 shot attempts/game and don't pass. Deng is a FA at the end of the season, why trade anything (let alone a potential lotto pick) for a guy who can be signed outright next summer?
  3. Ferry and crew had nothing to do with drafting Marvin or Benson, so not really sure what your point is there... Rudy Gay got traded for a bunch of expiring scrubs - still think he's worth that lotto pick? http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/10105384/toronto-raptors-sacramento-kings-agree-rudy-gay-trade
  4. If you think trading away lotto picks (which would be used to acquire talented young players on cheap contracts) for guys who simply aren't worth said picks is the best way to build for the long haul then I just can't talk to you anymore.
  5. Thank you for being logical. Seriously. HawksLova: Yes, the East is weak, but the Nets are AWFUL and you're drunk if you think the Hawks are including a '14 or '15 1st for anything but a proven superstar right now. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but you need to be realistic and think about whether or not the players you're speaking of are the type of guys Ferry would go after (they're not). The Hawks are playing great team basketball right now and I think Ferry is totally fine with seeing how this whole Nets/Hawks pick swap thing works out before he considers making any big deals this year.
  6. Most serious fans of the Denver Nuggets and Atlanta Hawks are likely well aware of this, but the rest of you may need a little catching up ... Denver gets the New York Knicks' unprotected first-round pick in 2014, while Atlanta has the option to swap its first-rounder with Brooklyn. So with the Knicks (3-13) and Nets (5-13) off to the type of starts few could have predicted, the Nuggets and Hawks both could be in a position to wind up with a high lottery pick and a potential star in the 2014 draft. Here are some of the players each team could target if that winds up being the case: Nuggets According to 82games.com, point guard and small forward are the two positions where the Nuggets are playing their best this season. That figures to remain the same in the years to come, with Ty Lawson/Andre Miller and Wilson Chandler/Danilo Gallinari locked up to long-term deals. With Denver also being invested at center with the multi-year contracts to JaVale McGeeand Timofey Mozgov, expect them to focus on shooting guard and power forward with the pick they get from the Knicks. That could open the door for a number of highly rated targets, from Andrew Wiggins and Dante Exum at the guard spot to Julius Randle and Aaron Gordon at power forward. While the Nuggets wouldn't likely be a destination for PG Marcus Smart or C Joel Embiid, one other player they could have a hard time passing up on is Duke's polished small forward Jabari Parker, even though he doesn't necessarily address a big need. Hawks Like the Nuggets, the Hawks are set at a couple positions, with Jeff Teague/Dennis Schrödersigned long-term at the point and center Al Horford inked through 2015-16. With Kyle Korverand Louis Williams also on the books in the coming season, the need at shooting guard isn't as great as it is at small forward, which is one of the positions the Hawks have been weakest at this season. Though it's hard to imagine Brooklyn ending up with one of the worst records in the league, particularly with so many other bad teams in the Eastern Conference, there's a decent chance the Nets' pick could end up being somewhere in the 10-14 range of the lottery. While that would almost certainly put the Hawks out of the range for Parker, they could be in the running for a small forward like Kentucky's James Young, Florida's Chris Walker or Syracuse's Jerami Grant. Or if they elect to go for the best player available regardless of position, that's where guys like Indiana power forward Noah Vonleh, Michigan State shooting guard Gary Harris and the aforementioned Embiid could come into play.
  7. ...and swapping LouWill for Waiters is going to make the Hawks a contender?
  8. We'll just have to agree to disagree then, because literally anyone can get hot during any given game... That's no reason to trade for someone, IMO. I'd rather keep the guy who doesn't try to play outside of his role and absolutely loves playing for the Hawks.
  9. Karl is great coach, no doubt, but I'd be surprised if he'd even take that job considering the roster he'd have to work with. Doesn't fit his style at all.
  10. Lou is still coming back from a major injury... Waiters is taller, sure, but Lou is the better player when healthy.
  11. Can't offer any assistance regarding autographs, but the reason the ticket prices are higher vs. other games is because of the player your son wants to see, Kevin Durant. Ticket prices soar when superstar players come to town because it's much more entertaining to the casual fan to see a big-name player/team rather than a team like the Orlando Magic. A regular season Hawks game is never going to sell out, but if you and your son are set on going to this game, I'd go ahead and buy the tickets just to be safe. Enjoy it!
  12. And then Barkley followed that up by saying that he thinks the Knicks will finish 3rd if Tyson Chandler comes back healthy/plays well...
  13. Nothing to be upset about, money clearly doesn't buy championships... Especially when the person you spend $153m on can't stay on the field.
  14. I'd never wish injury upon anyone (even Pierce...), but this couldn't be shaping up anymore perfectly.
  15. Is it not obvious? If we go by that chart, then the #1 overall pick is worth nearly twice as much as the #5 pick that you mention, so it should be obvious why any logical fan wants the team to keep losing... The higher the pick, the more value you can get in a trade.
  16. The deal is to (potentially) swap 1st round picks in the '14 and '15 drafts, so no, as part of the standing deal the Hawks couldn't trade their 2nd rounder for Brooklyn's 1st if we ended up with a worse record.Whichever pick we don't get goes to Boston, as stated.
  17. I was just referring to tonight since they don't play again till March and Gasol should be back by then.
  18. His rebounding has indeed been pretty dreadful besides those first few games of the season. Dissapointing, for sure and Al is my favorite player.
  19. I like Hawes, but not at the cost of trading a potential lotto pick for him.
  20. Which, if so, would be 100% justified.
  21. It's only one game (that we care about...). Koufos is plenty capable.
  22. Trading away the only NBA worthy PG on the roster sounds like a solid plan to me.
  23. I actually laughed out loud at the Cav's supposed trade targets that were mentioned.
