  1. This is all dreaming. Whenever Marvin comes back there is zero doubt that he'll be our starting SF, thus Josh will be at PF and Al at C. Josh can't guard quick 3s on the perimeter and that is a huge weakness for us as a team, perimeter D. You really think Drew would move Josh there so teams could exploit that even easier?
  2. UGA is a joke this year, Auburn should handle them without much issue. Auburn can lose to Alabama and still be a lock for the SECCG. But yes, they obviously have to win at The Dome to get into the BCSCG. I think their odds are pretty darn good... This coming from a Gators fan, btw.
  3. It's amazing all the hate that gets thrown around after we lose two games. Bibby is Bibby, he's not going to change at this point in his career and I don't see anyone complaining about him when we're winning. Teague is young and as said, this is basically his rookie year considering he hardly played last year under Woody. I like that Drew is giving him meaningful minutes and I think overall he's been pretty good so far. It's going to take him time and I thought he played well against the Suns. Etan, well, I don't agree with throwing him in during our biggest game of the year thus far when he hasn't played a second before then. Let's give him a little more time before we throw him under the bus.
  4. That's not the message the Blazers are giving at all. I said the exact same thing AHF said a week ago in a thread in the "around the NBA" section. And you're out of your mind if you think either the Hawks or the Blazers make that deal. It's unreal to me the kind of trades people around here come up with.
  5. Hell yeah, thanks for the heads up on this. Just got two in section 309.
  6. If you truly think the Hawks are a better team without Marvin, you need to watch more basketball. The Hawks would've had the game against the Suns with Marvin in there. I was at the game and watching Bibby chase Richardson around was painful. We NEED Marvin back. Like now.
  7. Who cares what John Wall does? Regardless of who he is, let's not forget that he's still a kid. Let him have his fun as long as it's not causing problems.
  8. Ya' think... I'm sure OKC would throw their youth movement out the window in giving up Green for an aging one dimensional sixth man scorer, especially when they already have their own sixth man in James Harden (who's young and actually defends).
  9. Moss is officially a Titan. I think it's actually a really good move for them if they can keep him happy, especially now that Britt is out indefinitely.
  10. hahaha of course Rivers thinks that, it's regarding what one of his players said. If the same was said to one of his players I guarantee he wouldn't feel the same way. On the other hand, if what KG said is true, that's just messed up, man... For KG to say what he actually said to Charlie V was "you're a cancer to your team and to our league" is so ridiculous. First of all, what is that even supposed to mean. And second of all, does anyone really believe KG said such a politically correct statement while talking trash during a game? What a thug KG is.
  11. This is a good move for both sides, IMO. If Oden can come back this year and stay somewhat healthy, I'd be surprised if the Blazers didn't match any offer he gets in RFA. By not giving him an extension now, the Blazers get to see if Oden's worth spending the money on and Oden gets to come back and potentially increase his worth if he can play well and stay healthy. I get the feeling the real reason this happened is because the Blazers know that Oden won't be able to stay healthy, though... Thus they'll have no problem with letting him walk away.
  12. I totally agree that everyone is overreacting to the Josh trade "rumors" (if you can even call them that). To me, the story-line you gave should be pretty evident that we plan to let Jamal walk. You don't give JJ all that money, draft JC2, and then not give Jamal an extension if you plan to keep him... Josh on the other hand, I just can't see him being dealt unless it's bringing a big name in return, and even that I don't see happening. I truly think people are severely overreacting and simply rosterbating after Chad Ford's article, which should be taken with a grain of salt, IMO. And I love the Horford extension, btw. So happy that he's locked in with us.
  13. This is just Marvin's "game". I said on here the other day that he's never really one to "wow" you like Josh or JJ. Just like you said, Marvin can end up with 15-20 points or whatever, but those points aren't going to come in a flashy manor. I don't think we need to specifically focus on giving him the ball, but stick with moving the ball and if he gets an opportunity/open shot, then he absolutely needs to capitalize on it. But to single him out and say "here's the ball, do your thing" (ISO Joe/Jamal style) is a bad idea and is getting away from what we need to do and what's been working nicely so far this season.
  14. Marvin will always be considered a "bust" by the masses. When you're the #2 overall pick and you don't come out averaging 20+ or whatever is expected people are going to dog you. Fact is, Marvin isn't a bad player by any means, he's just never going to wow you like Josh or JJ or Jamal with a big play. Let's not get too excited yet, we've only played one game. But if Marvin can average these kind of numbers all year, I'd be extremely pleased with that, regardless of whether or not other still see him as a "bust."
  15. He's a rookie and it's our first game of the year... You can't honestly expect him to get minutes like John Wall or Blake Griffin are. Like capstone said, he's a ways back in the rotation right now.
  16. I'd be very surprised to see the Cards actually deal Rasmus. While he apparently doesn't get along with LaRussa, he (LaRussa) isn't going to be around much longer and I think the Cards are smart enough to realize that Rasmus can help their team out for a long time if they hold onto him. That said, I'd sure like the Braves to land him, I just doubt it happens. As far as Kemp goes, he could be an elite player if he could get it all together at the same time. But again, I don't see him getting shipped away by the Dodgers, especially with Mattingly coming in (who Kemp supposedly has a ton of respect for). I pray that we don't sign Vazquez, regardless of what he did for us two years ago. Absolutely sell KK to whichever Japanese team wants him, good riddance. Knowing the Braves, we won't make any significant offseason signings, even though we desperately need help in the OF (and at the plate).
  17. I know what it is, it's just funny to read something so outlandish. Dude, it was 3am and I was wondering around the forum, as I'd just joined after simply reading posts for quite some time. I'm a huge Gators fan but I go to UGA, funny I know, but in-state $ + HOPE > out of state tuition and all the other costs that come with that. I'm a Falcons fan and still like Vick, not sure what that has to do with anything, though... Regardless, I'm not a troll, just posting about topics I'm interested in
  18. Man, UGA fans will grasp at any straw thrown their way for some hope. C'mon man, because some kid has had a UGA bumper sticker on his car since he got his license means that the Dawgs are going to beat the Gators this weekend? Let's be realistic here. Both the Gators and Dawgs absolutely suck this year. Florida's offense is absolutely terrible; Brantley could excel in a pro-style offense but the Gators are showing their unwillingness to stray from the spread. The running game is suffering from this too, between injuries and not being able to stretch the field this offense just absolutely blows. Defensively, the secondary is there, but the front line and linebackers were severely depleted from last years draft. UGA is starting to look a little better, but these recent wins have come against Tennessee, Vandy, and Kentucky. I'm a lifelong Gators fan, grew up in Florida and moved to Atlanta when I was young, but go to UGA. Trust that I heard all the "fire Richt" talk after the first 4 games and now all the "we can still win the SEC East!" talk after the last few games. It's insane, but quite funny how excited everyone gets over a few garbage wins. UGA's offense has done absolutely nothing against teams with any run D. And regardless of the Gators woes, they've shown to have a pretty solid run D. Even to the best 1-2 RB punch in the nation (Ingram and Richardson) we only gave up a little over 100 yards to them. As a team, the Dawgs averaged about ~85 yards per game against South Carolina and Miss St, all the while giving up damn near 200 yards to each team (and 100+ to a single player on each team). Their rushing stats for the year are highly overrated due to their past few games. The Dawgs are going to have to run the ball successfully against the Gators to stretch the field for the passing game, and that's not something I'm sure they can do. Same goes for the Gators though... If it wasn't for the rivalry between UF and UGA, this year's game wouldn't be very intriguing, IMO. I'm not even going this year. I have no idea what will happen this year, it could very easily go either way. I just don't think either fanbase/team has much to be excited over this year regardless of the final score.
  19. I'm sorry, but y'all delusional. I'd absolutely love to see the Hawks run the table with our new offense, but I don't think it's fair to say that we're a better team than Miami after they've played one meaningful game. I hate the Heat as much as the next guy (new "Big Three" or not), but once they're really used to playing together I don't think they'll have much trouble beating us. Yes, we have the chemistry, but I think people underestimate how long it's going to take the Hawks to truly get the new offense down. I don't see us winning 50+ game this year, but I'd love to be wrong.
