  1. He was using the trade to his advantage...Get out of here really? He said he would not extend w/ certain teams so they would not make offers..He is not gonna be able to join the Lakers because of their cap situation-further more the Warriors offer was far superior to this garbage

Yep, I have to agreed with savwboy, you have to remember that every rumor came out, one of his CPIII teams said that he wont extend or resign with that time. Natural, made it so diffcult to trade him because all of the teams in that race wouldn't give them maximum value for it (That is the reason why we didnt offered Teague from him).

To quote Vince "Chris screwed Chris" or to bluntly "His Team screw Chris"

  2. I think its was a veto, but not too sure. I understand how people is feeling about this. I was thinking about this all night and I feel like they should done the trade at first, but then reality hits me, Lakers was not only getting the youngest player in this trade but saving over 40 mil in salaries, keep their main asset, all of their draft picks as well. When Williams was trade to Nets, the Nets gave up a ton more than Fakers. So I can understand about that.

So at the end, I am netural about this. Besides if you look at all the trade proposals for Paul, the Lakers fail to compare to the Warriors, Clippers, and Hawks deals.

  3. @swift

    Two question for you

    1. When was the last time we had a All-NBA PG playing in Atlanta

    2. When was the last time did we had a superstar playing in Atlanta

Answer those question you will understand why most people want CPIII here, sure he isnt going to put us over the top but something has to give, we cant contiune getting into second round then stall out. This core has been together for a long time but same result, something has to give. Even if we didnt get him, just us looking at this option tell us that ASG might be commit to get over that hump.

  4. This was it, this was the only player he said we had a shot at. That's what I got in May. He is not wrong much. He leaked the Amare potential deal, Nash (PHX-ATL)in trade talks, Jamal getting traded and what not. He said if the Knicks stand pat Atlanta has a shot at CP3. They didn't and we are done. This means no Jamal either. That was the only way he would resign if we had the money.

He said Nash is not getting traded. Too valuable to Phx.

He said CP3 was open and we had a serious shot.

He said both Dwight and Deron weren't getting traded and if Dwight did, it wouldn't be to the Hawks.

Congrats fellas. We lost. It's likely over. Enjoy watching T-Mac and thinking he will be T-Mac of old. The Hawks is a joke anyway. That's the real reason Smith wants out. If he is going to be on a team who can't win, trade him to loser so he can stat pad. Horford don't want to be here unless we bring a good center. Neither does Joe unless we bring someone like CP3 in. I know it's not time to give up but when NY traded for Chandler, they killed the market and Dallas cornered it. We should just blow it up.

Well at least the Dream are good.

He also gave me heads up that Broussard is the one to listen to for CP3 and Lebron. He is WW Wes #1 media connect.

So you saying that CPIII is going to NYK now in a trade. Oh well, life moves on. But hope is not lost, until then let hope that Sund can get that for us.

  5. Paul to the lakers.. Gasol to the rockets, then Scola and Martin to the hornets.

    Umm, nope

Besides it will make it clear that D12 will be going to LA Lakers for Byrum and if that happens, I am know that the NBA is rigged and they should switch to NFL rules on F/A.

  6. Its called being realistic..

You are a sad sad man, you dont have dreams do you?

But that means Knicks is going to be screw with any other deals they want, and I believe Amare might have a "no trade" clause in his contact but Knicks is going to need alot of more and lot of Knicks fans do not want to lose Amare.

  7. ESPN is reporting that the Knicks now lead in the bidding for Tyson Chandler (they are expected to dump or amnesty Billups and Turiaf) and the Knicks would then look to flip Amare Stoudamire for Chris Paul.

    Interesting.

    http://espn.go.com/n...cks-sources-say

That is beyond crazy for that. I think that is plan stupid, you dont give up no Amare for Paul, even the NOH know this. Somebody trade CPIII so it will be over with.

  8. mbasuperstar40, Thanks for answering the question.

Maybe that is the reason why the Hawks has been silence through the whole ordeal, but I though he like Atlanta but oh well, Atlanta package is good and if he doesnt come, oh well, life moves on.

  9. Someone just reported: golden state, and boston are in the lead to land paul.

Hawks wont get Paul, don't get your hopes up.

Geez, yall need to stop being negative. For years, all of us has been complain that the Hawks doesnt do enough to complete but now we are active, this happens. Atleast they trying, so get off their backs

First of all, NO doesnt want Rondo period and G/S will not give away Curry (CP3 wont resigned with G/S). So that lead me with this question to nbasuperstar40 (but anybody else who has info, can answer too)

Did anybody say that CPIII camp say if Chris Paul was traded here, would he be able to resigned with us? That is hold-up with giving them Teague, If Paul says yes, then trade goes down.

  10. Let me see:

Boston: Rondo is good but Bradley is unknown and those draft picks are going to be in the middle to late 1st round picks. Second best trade for rental but need more for long-term

GS: If I remember correctly, Curry father (Dell Curry) use to play for Hornets (with LJ, Zo, Gill) but that is way too much to give up for a rental plus they are going to let Bierins(?) go to get Chandler with a new coach (Mark Jackson) there. This is the best trade for rental but for long-term, I dont know. Plus they might get stuck with Okafor contact too.

LAC: That Minny pick is good since we all know that MInny is going to suck this year but without Gordon or Jordan in this deal, this deal isnt all what is crack up to be. Beside they want to get into the D12 race

LAL: If was Gasol couple of years ago, then yes but right now, NO!

    NYK: Next

    HOR: Maybe but same Divison

DAL/ORL; Get into the Williams race

ATL: If we are secretly about this, then the package is going to be some like Jeff Teague, Josh Smith, a combination between Marvin, Zaza or even with draft picks. I think that Jeff Teague will thive until Monty Williams system(JT0 is more offense type then CP III) and Josh can be a more younger verison of David West (They will lose in FA this year). only downside that NOH wont get a 1st draft choice this year but next year they will (Age Rule becomes super important).

At the end, it is a toss-up between GS and ATL for the best package. Also a good point to remember, Teague, Josh, and any other player in ATL has been to the playoffs and most of them except NYK and BOS, so they are battle tested and still young plus controlable salaries as well.

  11. Dude,

Nobody like us, period. We are like the Bad News Bears but in Basketball. They don't take us seriously. and we have been to the second round for three consecutive years. I was comparing all supposed deals and the Hawks were the few that actually make sense but they are on LAC and GSW jock scraps. Oh well, that is the NBA for you.

  12. No, it will not. I'm glad you guys aren't the GM. There are financial questions to be asked. Trading 4 for 2 kills us salary wise. We won't be able to sign anyone....ANYONE beyond that and will have no bench. Also, any deal that netted us Okafor will include a center for them (ie...Zaza). Smith won't be going because he makes less than Okafor and Paul. I already posted this in another thread. If you are getting both Okafor and Paul, you are giving up JJ, Zaza and probably Marvin. You are also giving up 1 first, not 2 nor a second.

You would line up....Paul, Hinrich, JSmith, Horford, Okafor. You probably SNT Crawford at this point for 2 lower paid players to help fill the roster (Craw at 8 per, take back a 5 mil, 2.5 mil). You find a jump shooting 2 in that. You keep Teague as your backup point. JJ, Zaza, Marvin (healthy) and a first is plenty to get those 2.

FYI, you run pick and roll, penetrate and kick till your eyes bleed with that group and defensively you could stop anyone. You get Hinrich to resign for 5 million after his contract is up and it frees up money for the money for Paul.

i am just guessing there, negative nancy believe me I don't want to be a GM.

But we do have the pieces, we just need to see if ASG wants to go with it or just content with this group.

  13. Hawks are not getting Paul. Even Espn can't even take the Hawks interest seriously. They didn't even bother to list some madeup trade for Paul.

They did actually, John Hollinger did it. It was fubar but Atlanta has the package as long CPIII signs long-term. I know that it is a long shot but better to try then not try at all. Besides there is no way unless there is a miracle we will pass the second round in the ECF. Be honest here.

  14. Honestly, Sund is going to do him but clearly you want to keep Horford because of his fit with CP3 and CP3 not going to work with Smith for numerous reasons I will explain later since I've completed CP3 profile and CP3 knows that too.

It will be centered around Josh Smith and Jeff Teague. The rest is interchangeable. Marvin's bad contract means he made the cut. Jamal could be in the mix as could Hinrich and Zaza. But it would centered around Smoove and Teague. Clearly one top tier prospect and player. Also taking Okafor's contract is vastly important. Atlanta is willing to do to much with no assurance of resigning outside of CP3 saying he will likely resign with his word. Houston is too but they don't have much anyway.

Houston deal will be centered around Scola, and prospects who contracts are ending next year. Clearly Houston will still keep K. Martin to go with CP3 in their deal but we all know what deal has the most to offer because they have more talent.

I see, so It will be

    Josh Smith

    Jeff Teague

    Kirk Hinrich

Marvin Williams or 2012 2nd Round Pick

    1st Round - 2013 and 2nd Round Pick

    1st Round - 2015 (conditional)

    for

Chris Paul (as long he signed long term)

    Okafor

    Fillers

But the question because if we do that, our chance with resigned Jamal becomes better or worst?

  15. Honestly, GS and LAC have pulled out. LAC is leading for Dwight so he's the one that will get their attention. No one wants to really play for GS. ATL and HOU have attractive offers but Atlanta has more pieces and is willing to take Okafor contract. That's the game changer. Josh Smith getting into shape helped and that's why it was shown on hawks.com for a reason. Josh will get his chance now. If you play fantasy, draft him ASAP, he will be one of the best in the league but hypothetically speaking of course. Because he will possibly be our defensive anchor this season like he was in 09-10 and Horford will lead the team with a new chance.

i am already on it, now a question for u. If you were Rick Sound, what package would you make?

  16. I remember that Atlanta is one of the few places that he want to resigned with long term, I think if we can put a package together that can help us get him without Depleted this team to the core then we might get passed the second round this year

atlja316 is right, it's not everyday you get a 2nd shot at something in the NBA. Even after what happen so long ago, he still consider us, now that is something. I believe that I was the ASG, after all the crap that they put us through with everything, they should try hard to get this done.
