Come on man he was 35 and 17 w/ 48% shooting. To win the game, Trae needs to go 40 and 20? We gotta stop pointing the finger at Trae and look at those around him. The door matts are where I'd start personally.

Quin has his favorites and is very stubborn to change it up.
What are you suggesting here? You think the reason we're losing is because Quin didn't go deep enough into our awful bench?

I'm at the airport so I can't watch the game but box-score watching Trae was 17-8 in the first quarter? Holy mackerel!

OG shoots a higher percentage from 3 and plays all-NBA defense. I think he is a more "pure" 3+d player, where Siakim is much better creating off the dribble but cant shoot a 3 to save his life. I personally feel like OG is a much better fit even if Siakim is a better player.

There are plenty of players in the NBA that have good, positive, relationships with referees. And it's not because they get favorable calls or the refs never miss calls on them -- it's because they have average or better emotional intelligence and self control. It's not unreasonable to ask Trae to have some basketball maturity with regard to the refs in his sixth season.
I get it. The refs have delicate sensibilities (especially this season) and can't hang with the language that everyone uses on the court.
But here's the thing, I don't buy 300 dollar tickets thinking "Omg I can't wait to see how the rookie ref is going to fare today!" I'm there to watch nba stars play basketball. If they're getting thrown out of the game consistently across the league, it means the league is putting a worse product on the floor, and inevitably disappointing the fans.
I understand there has to be a line somewhere, but that line should be getting in the refs face and barking, pushing the ref and stuff like that. Saying a mild insult in passing after a blatantly missed a call shouldn't be enough to get thrown out. Clapping and yelling "let's go Hawks" when across the court from the red shouldn't e enough to get you thrown out.
And with all of this talk about professionalism, what about professionalism from the refs? It's OK for them to have personal vendettas with Trae and not call the game evenly because if it? That's insane to me.

@JeffS17 I wish Jokic, Tatum, Giannis, Trae, and Hunter had a modicum of professionalism and respect and then maybe they would *earn* the right to play well officiated basketball from the zebras.

I'm really nervous about Siakim's terrible 3pt shooting, hes shooting 21%(!!!) this season. If we trade Hunter for Siakim, we are going to have very poor spacing with he and Capella being complete non-shooters. I feel like this trade would make the game harder for Trae and Murray on many of our current actions since Siakim's defender will be able to sag way off of him.

I'm not convinced he is the right coach for a rebuild given how horribly he has mismanaged AJ Griffin from day 1.
The only good thing he has done is Jalen Johnson has taken off this season. But maybe that would of happen anyway regardless who was coach given the departure of John Collins.
One thing I actually hate is the short bench he runs. He is too stubborn to change it up personnel wise.
I dont understand how an NBA champion like Patty Mills that brings leadership and energy has only played twice this season.
Maybe the roster is not quite right. Hunter is wildly inconsistent. I feel Oneyka hasnt improved much since he entered the league. I thought he had better upside than what he is showing and would be replacing Capela in the starting lineup. I just dont see Snyder unlocking the talent on the team.
Our current roster + John Collins + Aaron Holliday was 50% last year. OO has taken a step back, AJ has taken a HUGE step back. Quin is a fantastic head coach, but he isn't Moses for crying out loud. What do you expect him to do with this roster?
How many wins do you think playing over the hill Patty Mills and Bruno nets us over our current record?

There's a lot of guys where I'd question their desire to play and accuse of "sandbagging", but Trae has been a veritable iron man every year of his career.

One thing I've noticed is we seem to be asking our big to bump the ball handler on pick and rolls instead of dropping as a way to compensate for our awful point of attack defense. My guess is (and what I see) OO is still trying to figure out how to recover to the roll man in these more advanced actions. I expected Clint to have a harder time with the higher movement expectations than OO.

The Matthew's experiment has to end. He isn't giving us anything. His defense looks like Kent Bazemore, he's all over the place but not stopping anybody.
