Oooohhhh crap.. is this the same knee as a couple years ago that kept him from consistently playing?
Yeah this is the one he tore a couple years ago and couldn't stay in the lineup.

Yep....keep going with all the names: front office instability at it's finest. Megastars won't want that. You've got to be willing to pay to have talent on your team. One injury or two and Garrison Mathews is starting?????

OG is much bigger and a much better defender. I'd rather trade hunter for him though.

I told y’all Mark Jackson. He would have us sitting at 27-2 with AJ a top 14 scorer in the league.
AJ would love the in-lockerroom church service

We are digging ourselves into a deep hole.
All this losing is going to take its toll on the locker room at some point.
Our season doesn’t ride solely on the back of JJ’s health. Coach needs to look in the mirror and acknowledge that he’s not doing enough to put our guys in position to win games. If Dre is out of the lineup then start Bogi, not Mathews. We need to get off to faster starts in games. We clearly can’t play defense, so put pressure on the opponent with scoring. I’m tired of getting in these long droughts and having to play catchup.
FO, do something with this roster. We just went a month without a PF and the best we came up with was giving OO minutes at the 4. We waived Miles Norris instead of giving him a chance to HELP us with his size. What are we actually doing here?
I'd actually like us to play Bruno over the door Mat(t)s. I really liked what he showed the other night when he got minutes, but for some reason he hasn't seen the floor since.
Norris is an undrafted rookie that's never even set foot on an NBA floor. We need TALENT that can help us today not a development prospect.

It was a hard fought game, but Mathews, 2nd half Lundy, and the refs were too much to overcome.

It may be that he can fill in for JJ and let Siddiq go to the 3 until JJ returns. It could be that he's the way we get out of Dre's Cap. Moreover, this is the type of trade that instantly saves us money.. and may allow for us to go for somebody else. The Pacers are one of the only team under the cap in the league.
We really don't have the assets to afford another salary dump. It means we won't be able to make trades for established players because we won't be able to match salarys AND we traded our FRPs to the Spurs so we won't really have much to sweeten the pot. We'd basically be putting all of our eggs in the free agency basket, and you see how well that has worked out for us.

Walker is 6'-8" 240lbs
He's also a rookie who won't contribute to winning this season and possibly not even next. He's shooting 27% from 3 on 10mpg. His DBPM is solid, but I want to see us bring in guys who:
1) Have size2) Can hit the three
3) Can defend
4) Have a high motor
This is the combo of attributes we need from our starting 3.
Is Trae willing to wait around while we develop yet another rookie and pray he turns into something in the NBA?

From the boxscore, seems as if the game was lost due to:
Bogi vs Bogi.......
.......and having the play the door Mat(t)s.
THIS!! As divisive as Hunter is, we can all agree he is light years better than the door Mat(t)s!
Last 15 games, W Matthews is 3/27 from 3

While I agree that Trae needs better shooters around him, Trae himself was 5 - 14 FG when I posted this last night.
He was struggling with his shot, struggling with turnovers, and also getting targeted and torched on defense most of the night.
I kind of hate that some of you just immediately dismiss +/- as a meaningless stat, when you can directly trace it back to what is going on in the game.
Even with Bogi. He was +7 in the 1st half . . . -15 in the 2nd half. And he was a huge reason why we were -15 by going 1 - 13 FG, 0 - 9 3FG in the 2nd half.
I always watch Trae's +/-, because his +/- number is one of the most important on the team.
- Hawks are 9 - 4 when he's ( + ) for the game
- Hawks are 2 - 11 when he's ( - ) for the game
- Hawks are 0 - 1 when he's even
It's because single game +/- can be very deceiving as it doesn't tell you anything about game flow, how other guys on the floor contributed, etc.
In this particular example, Trae was - 9 in his first 5:32 run before he got subbed out. Look at the game action:
MISS Mathews 3PT Jump Shot
MISS Bey 25' 3PT Jump Shot
Capela Out Of Bounds - Bad Pass Turnover Turnover (P1.T1)
Young Free Throw Technical (1 PTS)
MISS Mathews 3PT Jump Shot
Bey 4' Layup (2 PTS) (Young 1 AST)
MISS Bey 3PT Jump Shot
Young 29' 3PT Jump Shot (4 PTS)
Young 19' Step Back Jump Shot (6 PTS) (Murray 1 AST)
MISS Bey 3' Layup
Young Bad Pass Turnover (P1.T2)
MISS Bey 3PT Jump Shot
Trae had one turnover, hit a couple shots, and setup Bey and Matthew's for practice shots on the three point line over and over and over.
The Heat were packing the paint and selling out on Bey and Matthews to stop Trae. Our "shooters" couldn't knock down the open looks that Trae created off of this defense, so now his +/- looks horrible.
Notice how Bogi getting hot opened up the game for Trae? It forced them to stay connected to him, opening up the floor.
We need guys who can shoot on this team to maximize Quin's offense and Trae.

He's struggled with his shot, and has struggle defensively tonight.
Still time to pull this out, but it has to be done on the defensive end.
Looking at single game +/- again... Trae hit the wings while they were wide open on the 3pt line over and over and they kept bricking. I counted 6 wide open corner threes missed in a row in the first quarter.
Trae needs better shooters around him.

Trae
Patty
Bogi
Matthews
OO
This lineup is TINY

Trae has 9 assists in the first half and he should have like 12 if guys could hit shots.
Just now, terrell said:If Bogi plays like this can we really keep this dude on the bench?
At what point does he have to start and close games?
He looks like prime Klay Thompson.. lol
minus the defense haha

Bey is 11 of his last 46 3p for 24%. What happened to his shot?
