  1. Lebron's statline was impressive but he almost cost them that game with his terrible decisions down the stretch and his reluctance to shoot a jumper. He had a turnover and shot an air ball in the last 90 seconds of the game. He had Parker on him and Parker was playing about 2 ft off of him when he was only about 10 ft from the basket and he was still scared to take the shot on 2 straight possessions.
  2. I can't believe that people are defending Pop for putting in Splitter over Parker on the last play. It's obvious that Splitter isn't going to be shooting the 3 so the defender can hedge. If you want to put a big in for the screen, why not Bonner so his defender will actually have to pay attention to him. and Tony Parker is by far the Spurs best offensive perimeter player. It's not even close.
  3. I don't understand where people get the notion that Monta can shoot. He shot 28% from 3 this year and 27% the previous year. He shot 36% on shots that weren't 3's or layups.
  4. The only way this is the route we take is if Howard/Paul turn us down. Ferry isn't going to turn down Paul/Howard if they come knocking on our door.
  5. I would post quotes of what I was referring to, but I'm just going to move on from it. Either way, people should realize that the media overblows things to an extreme point. I will take the media's bias and comments against Dwight with a grain of salt compared to the positive remarks that he has received from SVG even after he had a part in SVG's firing. Dwight wants to win and I think he proved that this year. He was in a terrible situation in LAL and he tried to make the best of it. The year started off bumpy for him but he ended up out-producing every other big in the game over the last 30 games of the season. He played through injuries that would have kept many players out of the lineup. He is the only 20/10 guy left in the league and he does it efficiently on 60% shooting while dominating the paint on defense. There was an interview posted on here a few weeks ago where Howard and SVG were on with one of the ESPN guys. That interview went a long way in convincing me that the Howard situation has been blown out of proportion by the media. Does anyone have a link to this interview? It's the ESPN guy that has the show with his crazy dad.
  6. It has been posted several times on this forum as well as on others. Sure Dwight has some character issues, which I think are over-exaggerated, but his play overrules all of that. SVG speaks very highly of Dwight and calls him the smartest defensive player that he has ever coached. I also think the injury concerns are a bit over-exaggerated considering he was back to his usual dominate self over the last 30 games of last year all while being in an offense that doesn't suit him.
  7. I don't mean to be "hostile" or criticize anyone's opinion as I feel everyone is entitled to an opinion and all opinions should be treated equally, BUT I find it crazy for people to say that they do not want Dwight and would rather have a guy like Jefferson. When it comes down to winning championships, choosing Jefferson (or any other big in the league) over Dwight is ignorant. No one here can provide an argument for why one of the other available bigs would be a better fit for a Paul/Horford combo than Dwight. Hell, there's no other big in the NBA period that would be a better fit. Diesel is spot on with this entire post. Paul/Horford/Howard are literally the perfect threesome. They fit seamlessly together. In my opinion, we would be the clear favorites to win the title, assuming we get solid production from the wings, with this trio. No other Center in this league makes us the clear favorite when matched with Paul/Horford.
  8. LMAO. Once he became healthy he put up 20 pts 12 boards and 2.5 blocks on 60% shooting while anchoring a Lakers defense that was one of the best in the league after the all-star break. In what world is that a bad year? That 20 pts on 60% shooting came in an offense that wasn't suited for him either. Give him shooters and spacing and he scores more or just give him more attempts than the lakers were.
  9. Surprise, Surprise. More ignorance is upon us. Half of the Lakers team were injured during that series and the Spurs are an elite team. Dwight cant beat a well-oiled machine like the Spurs by himself. Give him Horford and Paul and he would probably take them out in 5 or 6 though.
  10. I don't recall Kobe playing in that series. I also don't recall the starting lineup all being healthy at the same time for more than like 5 straight games all season. Howard played injured for most of the season and he still put up 20 pts 12 rebounds 2,5 blocks on 60% shooting over the last half of the year. Congrats for adding to the ignorance in this thread.
  11. The ignorance in this thread is astounding. You guys seem to be more in to soap operas than building a contender. Dwight is the best Center in the league by a wide margin and he gives us our best chance to win a title. Maybe yall should stick to Days of our Lives instead of following the NBA>
  12. He is highly overpaid and routinely gets bullied and injured in the playoffs. He is not a player that can carry a team to a title which is a must for any player that has his ridiculous contract. He also provides next to nothing on defense and he struggles with his mid-range shot. He is a one trick pony and no team will ever win a title with him on the team taking up that much cap space.
  13. Griffin's contract tops out at 22 million. He is as overrated as it gets. Obtaining Griffin would be a terrible mistake.
  14. This post is full of fail. Brooklyn can't do a SnT since they are over the luxury limit. The Knicks have already used their amnesty on Billups and they still wouldn't have enough room to sign him if they amnestied Amare. Are they going to start Chandler and Howard together? I dont think so. Atlanta is the best opportunity for Paul/Howard to win a title. Quit being negative and actually pay attention to the league.
  15. You can't seriously think that 20 million over 2 years for Lin is a good contract. That's as bad as contracts get. Sure Lin can start but he isn't going to take you anywhere but the lottery unless you have a bunch of studs around him.
  16. The $30 million was Lin and Asik in the 3rd year. Leadership left out Lin's name in this line but the each clearly gives it away that he was talking about Lin and Asik. "Aisk will be due 15 mil/each in 2014-15."
  17. No way does LAL trade Dwight to the Clippers. It would be a terrible move to help your roommate become a dominant team for the next 5 years. Do you know how many fans would ditch the Lakers and become Clippers fans. I think LAL would rather lose Dwight for nothing and look to sign a major FA in 2 years than help the Clippers build a dynasty. LAL wants to win championships and Blake continues to get abused in the playoffs.
  18. You can't be serious. Westbrook > Harden when it comes to game impact and it's not even close. Comparing Westbrook to Ellis, SMH quit trolling.
  19. Harden's go-to move is driving in to the lane and then just barrelling in to the defender and throwing his arms up and the refs reward him with the call every time. I don't see much skill in that. He flops around like a damn fish and doesn't even attempt to actually make the shot half the time. He has one of the ugliest offensive games in the league because of this. He would be just another player if the refs didn't hand him 10+ FT's a game. He chokes hard under the big lights. Houston probably beats OKC if they gave Parsons more touches and quit with the Harden dribbling out the clock on every possession and then trying his patented run into the lane, flop, and hope they make the call.
  20. I agree with this x100. and Harden is the most overrated player in the league along with Blake Griffin. Harden shoots a meager 30% on shots that aren't layups or 3 pt attempts. He provides nothing on defense and his assist/turnover ratio was around 1.5:1 in the regular season and 1:1 in the playoffs this year. That's a terrible ratio for a guy who is depended on to handle the ball and initiate the offense. He also has failed in his biggest moments. He shot under 40% this year against the Thunder and averaged 4.5 turnovers a game. He's a ballstopper and is propped up by the leagues decision to anoint him a superstar when he hasn't earned it. Parsons is a better all-around offensive player than Harden. A Paul/Harden pairing would not work as both ned the ball in their hands to be at their best. Horford is easily the better fit on offense and he actually provides rebounding and defense. Paul/Howard are high BBIQ guys and it has to be obvious to them that Horford is a better fit than Harden.
  21. Houston cannot sign Dwight outright without a paycut with their current roster. and how is Houston much better than us? They will most likely have to move Asik if they sign Howard as they will not fit well beside each other unless they want to pay a backup C that much. James Harden is one of the most overrated players in the league. His midrange game is nonexistent. For some reason, the league decided to treat him as a superstar and give him the call anytime a player breathes on him and he lives off of this. You want to take a guess on Harden's shooting percentage on shots that are not 3's or layups? It's a whopping 30%. He also provides next to nothing on defense. Dwight has also mentioned in the past that he would like to play with a solid PF that can get in there and rebound with him and Houston does not have this type of player while Horford is the exact description of what he wants as he can stretch the floor for Howard while keeping his man in check on defense and hitting the boards hard.
  22. JETSET

    Paul Pierce

I have never cared for Pierce but he would be a nice fit on this team. I would welcome him if he was willing to take the MLE.
  23. We could land Barnes for under 1 million. It would be nice if we could land a combo of Barnes and a guy like Webster. This would solidify our wings when you add Jenkins to the mix along with Lou playing some 2 and a 1st round pick goes to a wing player.
  24. That team is god awful. Morrow is a straight bum. Why in the hell is Horford not on the team when he is the perfect fit for Paul/Howard? A sign-and-trade is pointless because Paul/Howard can only sign for 4 years either way. Why do you dislike Horford so much? Every post you make is about having someone other than Horford at PF. Horford IS the best possible fit to pair with Paul/Howard. It's not even close.
