  1. Its not just the release, it's his setup. He has a set shot. Those guys don't
  2. I just don't agree. We got a lot NBA fans but a lot of them got allegiance to different teams. A big market usually got those too but they got a lot of local fans too. We literally just had a game where at home, we heard let's go Heat chants.
  3. But it is. And I say that as someone that's been to game for many years. Are TV ratings? Meh. Our attendance hasn't been in the top 5 ever. In the NBA, a big market is LA, NY, MIA, and CHI. DAL, HOU, BOS, PHI, and TOR are considered mid sized. Everyone else is small market If this was college football, Atlanta is the epicenter Ain't tryna burst your bubble but OKC aren't trading Giddey for no one on our roster outside of their hometown boy.
  4. You should take anything from Haynes and from a players perspective seriously. Haynes is one of the most popular writers with players in the NBA and their representatives. Especially west coast guys and Klutch guys with a high profile.
  5. It's cool to say you think you should be off the ball but to mention Jerami Grant is just rubbish. He ain't gonna help you in that arena. This seems like a Ben Simmons proxy without saying Ben Simmons. As for Haynes, his rep around the league for speaking from the player's side and their agent is impeccable. He's well respected from that end. Doesn't really have good ties to GMs around the league.
  6. Them dudes got there extremely late, Trae shot it from 30 and they still almost got to the shot. Trae shot take too long and he's too small to be an off ball shooter. He don't got a quick whip like Steph or JJ
  7. Mr. Full of It is back with an update: Hawks Front: TS is more active right now than he was when he made all of those trades in the COVID shorten season. The biggest news I got was Atlanta's offer for Simmons, did include JC but did not include Hunter but Philly wanted Hunter but treated him like a throw-in. Atlanta wasn't interested. That said, Philly did say and this was before he came back that they will keep an eye out on Hunter in particular. I was told, Philly declined Atlanta's initial offer as did Atlanta when Philly countered. This one will go down to the end. Nothing else on that front. Atlanta plans on keeping Knox who can't be packaged and Lou who wants to finish out the year in Atlanta. It would mention, if a player who's contract is ending is available that they find appealing, they could package Knox and OKC 1st for that player. Bogi has been shopped and offered to several teams. As of right now, no update on his front. Also Gallo has more interest than I personally though he has. He could end up traded even if we do not do another deal. The interest in him is real and his contract has favorable terms. Nothing on the front of Dieng or Wright. Nor the rookies in particular JJ. Nothing on the front of JC other than PHI. Amick's report that SAC is looking at a coup for Simmons and Sabonis is true. The issue is, PHI wants a lot more than what SAC is willing to give up whereas IND/SAC has made a lot of progress on the Fox/Sabonis front but SAC wants more from IND. Expect SAC to look different as they make a push for the playoffs. They might be the only team as aggressive as the Hawks. I mentioned Fox availability awhile back. Philly and others has put out there that Harden could be available. Brooklyn has put out the opposite and saying that he's coming back. We seen this before multiple times and they have been a toss up based on history. He still believe Phllly will trade Simmons at the deadline. Sellers market. Buyers feel price is just too high and are waiting for prices to go down which they think it may in the last week of the trade deadline. Teams really are seeking real firsts and those teams who have them just feel like the price tag is a bit too much and the ones who they feel is worth it, those teams are asking for a lot more than just that. This will be a dead trade deadline. Your village idiot already made a trade for chemistry reasons. No one else is left on that list, not even the Hawks. A lot of guys are available. More than usual. More than the last couple of years.
  8. Welcome to Hawksquawk sir! As your Mr. Full of It, what can I do for you?
  9. I am not giving up on him but to get what we want, we probably will have to part with him. I am not parting with Okongwu. Fits too many rotations and finding guys who can guard Giannis, Embiid, and Jokic is nearly impossible.
  10. Okongwu is a monster v. Giannis, Embiid, and other elite centers.
  11. Okongwu and Trae is the only players I want long term right now.
  12. Watching the Grizzlies, I felt Steven Adams would have been perfect with Trae, Cam, Dre, and JC
  13. I am not consistent in posting pods but the Hawksquawk pod is up in the media links thread @AHF posted
  14. The first paragraph is flames. Love it! This team has a tremendous lack of dawgs in the 1st unit. I really dont agree with the wings part. Especially Huerter and Bogi. If we were to trade them, we will be looking for others, just like em. Hunter might need to be downgraded but JC or Capela must be upgraded in that same token.
  15. I dont know about the bolded of this but I do think this was an excellent post.
  16. I don't know if I agree. I will agree that the bench has been much better in the last 2 of 3 games that Cam hasn't last played but I haven't seen us playing harder. I felt we been playing this hard after the POR game. It's just our offense has stalled out in literally every game since CHI.
  17. I felt with the exception of the last two Cam games he played v. both LA teams, which was a disaster. Cam was key in our win v. SAC. Cam was good v. CHI. Can you really say Cam was the issue with the chemistry? He was literally part of our last couple of wins and played very well in those games. If anything, he was significant. You can't say I am stanning for Cam if we have been down by 15 at one point of all of these games. That's not a good thing. We have competed at times better within the game but for the most part, we look like trash. Teams have come out red hot against us all year, that's not telling honestly. It's a sign that this team has issues that are personnel based around Trae. That's not on Cam. That's what I keep honing on. Our issues, aren't Cam related. If anything, Cam was unlucky this year as he was the 4th most productive Hawk in the rotation but his on/off metrics was WOAT level. We have been better of late in the 2nd unit. With the exception of the LA games which was horrendous for us, Cam has been starting and the 2nd unit been awful all year, with or without Cam. Just because they have been better in the last two games isn't a revelation, it could just be two good games by the bench, if they continued the trend, now we are on to something.
  18. We haven't won, if you are the problem, it would be an instant impact. I don't see that at all. Anyone saying otherwise is just hoping and wishing. This team literally has been down by each of these teams by 15 at one point of the game.
  19. Bron teams have been heliocentric. Let me check real quick. Giannis has a high usage rate but his offense isn't heliocentric. Westbrook been a part of some extremely heliocentric offenses. Obviously, Allen Iverson made the finals in one. Kobe Bryant been a part of many, even his title run. Heliocentric offenses has won but rarely do we have them let by a PG much less undersized guard like Trae. I agree with you about MJ, his style has always been extreme heliocentric based. The Warriors are an advanced verison of the Kings player movement team. Like the Kings, a big is their main ball distributor and movement is how they do a lot of their damage. The 60 Hawks also played that style but even better, they just didn't have the talent that Warriors team had. The Lakers that won it all with Kobe and Gasol against Boston was extremely heliocentric around Kobe. I actually think Trae is the most difficult player to play against that's heliocentric in NBA history in the playoffs. He sees every coverage during the regular season and he has that Reggie Miller where he elevates his game, his mindset is of an assassin and when he's dead eye focus, like Miller, it's a nightmare to play against. My issue is regular season Trae. I do think Luka and Trae are as good as it gets for heliocentric based offenses in the playoffs.
  20. I do think Klay fits many because he only requires 38 touches a game and he doesn't really have to be in rhythm to score although he's a tad streaky without quality touches. He like JC are movement players who function in all styles but best in player movement based systems. I can see that. I can see that. Klay is just such an impossible player to replicate. We got Cam as he's the closest to Klay and he wasn't close to Klay. Movement BBIQ was poor, needed a lot more touches, didn't play the defense BBIQ wise that Klay can. A big part of GS and Chicago success is luck. Steph Curry and Michael Jordan aren't the easiest players to build a champion around. I think Trae is in that boat. We either got to get lucky or create luck. JC and Clint work but they don't work well enough to overcome Trae RS low impact floor. Trae is what you call, a ceiling raiser. He can raise the roof of our team but his floor is just very lower. Lower than even JC. We gotta get better here. I disagree on Bogi and Kev. I actually think they are great fits at SG for Trae. They get the ball out quickly. They play on spot up, can score all three levels, Bogi can give you the floater and he's a competent ball handler and can run a solid PnR as well. Decent playmaker too. I really think Bogi was an exceptional get for Travis. Kev is a really good fit as well as a 6th man. I don't have too much issues with them defensively other than lateral quickness could be better and they give up more open 3s than I prefer. Hunter has a great skill set and I like his ability and potential. I dont see him reaching his peak in Atlanta as well as now gone Cam. As stated above. We dont need anymore scorers on the wing. We need dawgs! Fighters, athletic, high motor, can defend multiple positions, can cover for mistakes, high BBIQ, basically a young Rodman but with a decent open 3 pointer. I would prefer a Dawg & Defense aka D&D with and can decently make open threes and always cutting to the rack. Someone who gets 15-20 touches in 30mpg and he's good with that. With Trae, I don't see another ball handler working unless they do it when in transition or they are creating it in the open court. This is where I give Simmons a pass whereas i don't see it with most ball handlers. Most players struggle running an offense, even Trae. Not that I am aware of and he gets 77 touches a game, good luck seeing that come together. Even the year with Russ, it was 60 touches. That's not happening with Trae All four of those guys have severe flaws which makes their fit poor with Trae. Trae lack of defense really screws things up. It's hard enough just with the heliocentric style and his lack or off ball chops and stamina but the defense is the killer. Trent Jr doesn't have the BBIQ or feel for the game Bogi has. Those things matter especially in a ball movement styled attack which we used with our heliocentric style. The 3 is a problem for me but not for the same reasons. I think Hunter is special. I just think we don't need special. We need someone that doesn't need anything ran for him, loves defense, loves possession by possession Basketball, versatile, and smart, great rebounder, great at stocks, great at doing dirty work and being scrappy. That player might not he worth a lot of money but he would hold tremendous value on this squad. Someone who requires limited touches like P.J. Tucker
  21. Since Vandy emerged they have changed as a team. He's a core player. I think TS needs to adjust his drafting from best available to best fits around Trae Young or trade picks for those guys.
