  1. If you watch on Google chrome install adblock and it will remove all those annoying ads.
  2. Sure wish Lucas could have played in second half. I think he would have set record for blocks in summer league game.
  3. Great thanks. Looking forward to one last look at our young guys. It will be interesting to see who makes the team going into this year.
  4. I read somewhere it is at 6pm tonight on NBATV, is this right?
  5. Thanks for the info. I'm encouraged with how our young guys are doing.
  6. I agree... I would love to see the Hawks have Mike Scott, John Jenkins, Cunningham, Shroader, & Lucas as 5 guys on the Hawks roster plus our other guys. I don't really want to see them pick up anymore FA. It would be nice to have a sideways or back year where we can develop our young talent and keep looking to hit a big FA in the next 2 years. I am 50/50 on Muscala. I don't want to lose him but I know he isn't ready yet. I like that Danny Ferry hasn't locked us into contracts that we are stuck with like we had with Joe Johnson. I still can't believe he was able to get us out of that one.
  7. Great. I am really looking forward to last year's and this year's rookies playing and seeing how they play together.
  8. If we resign Teague then we will definitely stunt the growth of Schroader. I know we can trade Teague later, but I don't see why you sign a guy knowing you want to trade him later. I want to see Schröder get as many minutes as he can. Let's see how good he is and can be. I don't think there is any move we can make that will put us in position to go far in the playoffs. Keep building for the next few years and not get stuck with mediocre players with big contracts.
  9. Sergiy Gladyr going to Summer League with the Atlanta HawksBy Kris Willis  @Kris_Willis on Jul 10 2013, 7:49p 14http://www.peachtreehoops.com/2013/7/10/4512432/2013-vegas-summer-league-sergiy-gladyr-atlanta-hawksJayne Kamin-Oncea-US PRESSWIRELeague sources tell Peachtree Hoops that 2009 second round draft pick Sergiy Gladyr will be a part of the Atlanta Hawks summer league entry in Las Vegas. The rest of the Atlanta roster has still not been announced. The Atlanta Hawks begin play in the 2013 Vegas Summer League on Friday but have still not announced a roster. League sources tell Peachtree Hoops that 2009 second round pick Sergiy Gladyr will be a part of the team.Gladyr has spent the last several seasons playing in Spain and most recently with Mad-Croc Fuenlabrada where he averaged 9.4 points while making 42 percent of his attempts from beyond-the-arc. Gladyr was a member of the Hawks' summer league entry in 2010.So with no official roster available here is our best guess at what the team might look like on Friday. In addition to Gladyr expect 2012 draft picks John Jenkins and Mike Scott to suit up. Shelvin Mack are also likely along with Jared Cunningham and 2013 second round pick Mike Muscala.Dennis Schröder tweeted from his official account that he had signed his contract with the Hawks. Atlanta has yet to announce that signing and there are likely still some FIBA issues that must be cleared up before he and fellow first round pick Lucas Nogueira take the court.Other reported additions to the Hawks summer league team are Memphis forward Adonis Thomas and Murray State forward Ed Daniel. Also rumored to be a part of the team is former Missouri State standout Kyle Weems who spent last season playing in Germany.
  10. I heard someone at the draft say that Cunningham was probably going to be cut or released by the Hawks and he was just thrown in the trade so Dallas could free up cap space. Has anyone else heard something like that?
  11. What I love is how the media has been high on John Jenkins. Seems like a lot of people think we need to not try and steal too many minutes from Jenkins with other free agents.
  12. I agree. I think we are putting a team that would be 6-8 seed. Bynum if he can play at all would be a huge help. If not, then we probably could fall into the lottery. Either way, we are still a couple of years and a couple Big Free agents or lucky draft picks from being in contention.
  13. Looks like the Hawks were just dangling Jeff Teague to the Bucks to see what they would give. I'm not sure Ferry will trade Teague for Jennings either. I guess getting Jennings is better than seeing Jeff Teague go somewhere else or play with an attitude like he doesnt' want to be in Atlanta. I know that we can meet any offer but you don't want a player that doesn't want to be there either. It is possible that Teague has said he wants to play somewhere else. At least for now, it looks like Ellis is heading somewhere else.
  14. Is it possible Ferry is planning on tanking without it looking like he wants to tank? Or after Chris Paul and Dwight not coming here, there really aren't any great options to make us contenders.
  15. I think I might be ok with it if they feel he can play some and they give him a 1 year deal. I don't think we can get anyone this year that will put us past the 2nd round of the playoffs anyway.
  16. I am very interested in seeing what this team looks like in October. I can't seem to figure out if Danny is trying to get us to be just competitive for a couple of years in hopes to land a big time free agent in 2 years or what. I will say this, this is going to be completely Danny Ferry's team. The only player on this roster this year that he didn't bring in will be Al Horford...unless he trades him too.
  17. Andrew Bynum Gaining Interest from Hawks After whiffing in the Dwight Howard sweepstakes and losing Josh Smith all within the span of a few days, the Atlanta Hawks are looking up — specifically at 7-ft free-agent center Andrew Bynum. The Hawks have also been linked to Monta Ellis, but the team would only be able to sign one of the stars. ESPN’s Mark Stein reported earlier today that Atlanta’s primary sights are still set on Ellis as “the future of restricted free-agent Jeff Teague is still uncertain” within the Hawks organization. If the team were to accept trading Teague, they would have enough to offer Ellis somewhere around $10 million per year. Although the Hawks have given a lot of thought to Ellis, they are still heavily interested in Bynum as a plan B of sorts. Bynum would, in theory, give the Hawks the throwback big man they have coveted for so long. However, he comes with a huge injury risk and his refusal to workout for any teams raises major skepticism in his current status. Regardless, Bynum may be worth taking a risk on as long as a very strong medical staff is progressively treating his injuries. In the right situation, Bynum could return to the 18.7 ppg, 11.8 rpg and 1.9 bpg he recorded just two seasons ago with the Los Angeles Lakers. Those stats alone are buoying his value this off-season, not to mention that he is still only 25 years old with much room to grow. And giving his past injuries, it’s very possible Atlanta could get Bynum for a relatively cheap two-year deal. 18. Thanks, I grew up in Atlanta and just moved to Raleigh 6 years ago. I'm looking forward to connecting with you all. I agree that the biggest frustration with not landing Dwight is that Atlanta had a hard time landing big time free agents. I think the Hawks culture is changing and players will want to come here...hopefully.
  19. Hello everyone....I have been lurking and reading for a while and decided to join in the fun. Just a few thoughts this am!1). If we would have gotten Dwight I would have been ecstatic. I would have seen that the hawks image has turned a corner and the chances of getting more big time free agents would have been better.2) I am glad we didn't get Dwight. We would have been stuck with him and our ability to get better would have been tied to his drama. He would have wanted out as early as mid season. He is a great player...not sure if he is the answer.3) there really are no free agents left this year that will make the hawks a top 5 team in the east. 4) looks like Danny Ferry is getting pieces but leaving room to go big in free agency in 2 years. 5) there is no way Carmelo or LeBron would come to Atlanta without another big free agent. Not sure they would even come together.6) I'm ok, with us getting into the lottery this year, but don't want it to be a 5 year tanking process.7) I'm even ok with making playoffs and having an early exit as long as we don't lock ourselves in with awful contracts. Looks like Danny Ferry is going to go this route.Looking forward to a new kind of Hawks team! I do really like what Danny Ferry is trying to do, but it will take a while to change the culture.
