Sounds like a job for...Isaac Okoro! Same here. He's such a skilled finisher. I suppose his floater numbers don't count as being around the rim.

What did you think of Maxey? I think he's got real sleeper potential. And don't all those UK Cats usually bust out in the NBA after being held back by Cal's system.

I think if Schlenk had taken over a year earlier, in 2016, he could have made those moves and still traded Horford a year or two later to further fuel the rebuild. We wouldn't have lost an asset for nothing. Hey, at least a busted wristwatch is right two times a day!

Yes, I like the idea of Hampton at that point in the first round also. Rashard Phillips is super high on him.

I think that a sleeper to do something like this could be Tyrese Maxey. He's a 3 level scorer that also plays defense. He's downgraded only because he's a tad short, kind of like...Donovan Mitchell.

I hope Hunter takes a step forward this year. But otherwise I see him as a backup combo forward, but one that still gets major minutes because of that versatility.

I think Okoro or Vassell could claim the SF spot within a year or two.

A fair point. I didn't mean any disrespect to John. You're right, tying up cap was more like Bazemore's contract. I think the term "overpay" would be more accurate. But like I said, if John becomes a volume 3 point shooter at his current percentage or greater then it may be a moot point.

If he can generate a significant volume of 3's starting this season, especially above the break like you mentioned, then watch out!

I think what makes it tough with John is differentiating what John deserves from what is in the best interests of the Hawks organization. John is just an incredibly great dude. I would wish him the max, because I would wish him the best. But is tying up the cap with a Collins max contract in the Hawks' best interests?

Yeah, I think further development of his outside shooting is his main key to reaching new heights, in terms of impact.

Yeah, there were rumors of a pretty decent package from Denver. Wish we could have known what that was. I thought I remembered Gary Harris' name being mentioned also.

Pretty much the same 5 for me. Although, I kinda hope Avdija is gone so we don't have to consider him. It's mainly Okoro, Toppin, or Vassell for me.

But I kinda wish we had just signed a Tyler Eifert to take over at TE, rather than giving up a premium pick to get Hayden Hurst, although I am excited to see what Hurst can do in our offense.

This draft is starting to look better and better. Terrell looks plug-n-play. Davidson is a monster. And the two 4th rounder might be ready to contribute more than I thought they would. Drafting a punter really chafes my hide, though.
