  1. Quote: so you are willing to risk losing a chance to win multiple titles in the next few years? by the time garnett is done so will nash and marion will be close. who will amare have left on the time to win a title? yeah lets not win a few titles now, to win a few more meaningless games in the future. moron lol Losing a chance to win multiple titles? How? The Suns are still one of the top 3 teams in the league. If it wasn't for Stat and Boris runnning onto the court and their suspensions, the Suns would be Champions right now. Major changes aren't needed, only minor pick ups(Grant Hill, PJ Brown). But like I said, I'm not totally against Stat for KG, as long as the Suns are compensated for the age gap.
  2. Quote: The main enticing thing to me about Amare was that the price seemed so reasonable. That should have been your first clue that it was bogus. Suns get shafted and the Hawks make out like bandits. As a Suns fan, I'm not averse to trading Amare if it will improve our team. Trading Amare for Garnett makes us slightly better in the short term but kills us long term. Amare is a 24 year old 1st team All NBA player. KG has 2-3 years left in him at a superstar level. The Suns needed to be compensated for that age gap. Now, if the Hawks shipped Marvin Williams and maybe Childress our way, then it would be more of an even trade. But Amare for ONLY the 3,11 and filler? Not nearly enough for a 24 yr old 1st team All-NBA big man. I admit I was scared about the deal being true since it was being reported by so many different sources. I couldn't believer Kerr would be that stupid. Glad it's all over.
  3. Diaw has been playing PF and Center for the Suns. When Amare gets back, you'll see lineups of: Nash Bell Marion Diaw Amare Diaw has actually become our second best playmaker and he plays best when surrounded with finishers like Marion. Diaw and Marion complement each other. Totally different players. Can't wait to see how Diaw meshes with Amare. Also, those trade scenario's are laughable. Marion is an All-Star and coming off a 3rd team All-Nba year. There's no way he'd be shipped for a bust like Aruajo or an old man like Davis. As if that wasn't bad enough, you actually included James Jones in one of the packages. Come on.
  4. What a ridiculous proposal considering who you just signed! You just overpaid Joe Johnson to be your point guard of the future and now you want to turn around and trade for Marbury? One of the main reasons Joe wanted to leave PHX was so that he could dominate the ball and be "the man" on his own team. Bringing in Marbs would ruin any chance of that and majorly piss off Joe. Unbelievable.
  5. You guys are funny. Joe Johnson is not a point guard and if your management signs him, it won't be to start at PG. He's a pretty good ball handler and passer but that doesn't mean he "has point guard skills". He's good enough to play spot duty at the point(5-10 mins) but nobody with any real knowledge of him as a player would say he's capable or playing the point exclusively. I think you guys have a real good chance at getting him. You're having to overpay by about 3 million per year but you should expect that if you want to lure a guy from PHX to ATL. Amare is great but JJ has emerged as my favorite player on the Suns. Damn Colangelo should have locked him up last season.
  6. No thanks. Suns get raped. Marion is a former All-Star and legit 20/10 guy. Lampe is young prospect with tons of potential. Suns deserve much more than Rasho and a bad contract in return for that package.
  7. Quote: Where is the fantasy? Walker for Big Dog/Dalembert.. Until the papers are signed (or it is at least rumored by a reputable source), it is a product of your imagination and creativity. Ergo, it is a fantasy trade proposal. It's also a fantasy in that Philly would never agree to a trade like that. Daly is a younger, heavier and better offensive version of Theo Ratliff. A few of us Suns fans have run some Marion for Daly proposals to Sixer fans and majority of them say no. If they won't do Marion for Daly, they damn sure won't do it for Walker.
  8. The Clippers are way under the cap so they can afford to absorb Kittles $10 million without sending away any salary. The value in Kittles isn't his play but that his contract expires next year so the Clippers can try again in free agency next season.
  9. I don't think it's unfair to PHX. Right now we are really hurting at center(Voskuhl, Lampe). That's disgustingly bad. Damp is a top 5 center and if he proves that last year wasn't a fluke, I'd trade Marion for him provided the Clips didn't match Q. I just don't see why the Hawks would do it. You already have Diaw and Josh Smith. Marion would eat up all their minutes(he plays around 40 a game). Sure, he'd be an All-Star in the East but you guys are rebuilding and Marion is more of a 3rd option than a cornerstone type guy. Joe Johnson would probably fit your needs better.
  10. Quote: I can't beleive that DEN is willing to not only offer K-Mart the max, but to offer him between $20M and $30M up front when they already have a terrific young PF in Nene and a big hole at SG. Voshon Lenard is decent but I think Q Rich, Ginobili or Jamaal Crawford would have been a better fit and they could have been had for a LOT less money. That is very surprising. I've read reports that they are actually considering starting Melo at SG, KMart at SF, Nene at PF and Camby at center. Melo is athletic enough to play the 2 so it could work. I hope it fails though and we somehow can pull off a Joe Johnson for Nene trade.
  11. Quote: Why did Miami do this? You'll see why Miami did this when they trounce you guys 4 times next season. They don't really give up all that much. Tbe 1st rounder will be no better than 25th overall. For some reason, they've soured on Butler and have been trying to deal him anyway. They've been trying to dump Brian Grants contract for the past 3 years. Losing Odom will hurt but you are getting Shaq in return so it's worth it. An angry Shaq will dominate the Eastern Conference and Miami is set to contend for the next 3 years.
  12. This sure makes me feel a lot better about the Nash signing. At least Nash is a proven 2 time All-Star. Manu is more like a 6th man and his contract is almost as large as Nash's. This is the new economics of free agency. If you Hawks fans think you are going to sign a decent FA without overpaying, you are in for a rude awakening. It's getting to the point where role players are getting close to 10 million per year. All-Stars with max or near-max contracts look like relative bargains when you pay a role player like Manu $9 million/year.
  13. But according to you, it can't go through because Orlando has a deal with Houston, right? LOL. If the only thing holding up the deal was Francis's BYC status, the Magic wouldn't be fielding offers from other teams.
  14. Quote: You said that The Suns gave up Cleveland's pick in the White deal. However, Cleveland's pick will go to Charlotte for Pavlovic. You can't trade the same pick twice. I don't know anything about the Pavlovic deal. I do know the Suns gave Charlotte a pick owed to them from the Cavs. Here's an official statement from the Suns regarding the pick. http://www.nba.com/suns/news/expansion_dra...ite_040622.html Quote: Salarywise and talentwise a trade for Tmac won't work without both Marion and Johnson.... It could work salary wise, just not talent wise. Today's Insider said that PHX and Orl had heavy negotiations yesterday which leads me to believe the Suns may have wilted and agreed to trade Marion + JJ. But they wouldn't trade the #7 pick if they included JJ. Quote: Again... It doesn't matter how francis feels. IF Francis was overjoyed with Going to Orlando... They would still have to wait til July 1... Read the frontpage of ESPN... It matters to John Weisbrod. He's dealing a disgruntled player in McGrady and he doesn't want a headcase in Francis who doesn't want to be there. As I said before, read Insider, everything is covered there. Here is a direct quote from today's Insider "On Monday, Francis told his agent he did not want to play in Orlando. Francis' dig, combined with a flurry of criticism around the league about the lopsided deal, sent the Magic looking for alternative trade partners late Monday night."
  15. Quote: Well, this deal has always been on the table. No it hasn't. The Suns have never been willing to include JJ in the McGrady deals. Read today's ESPN Insider, it covers the whole situation. You can also get some info here. http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/0623mcgrady0623.html Quote: However, #7 is in doubt... because Cleveland's 2005 is going to Charlotte in trade for Pavlovic and it's being stated the other way.... What does a Bobcat/Cavalier trade have to do with our #7 pick? Nothing at all. Suns own #7 but they are considering trading down. Quote: Either way, what's holding the tmac trade is Stevie Franchises BYC status to change on July 1 You are way out of the loop man. Read today's Insider before you continue. The deal is on hold because Francis doesn't want to go to Orlando and the Magic are still fielding offers from many teams(mainly PHX). Quote: BUT what I have heard is that Phoenix is clearing the table for Shaq. Marion/Stoudamire/Eisley/#7 for Shaq. It'll never happen. Amare won't be traded for anyone short of Tim Duncan or maybe LeBron. Not even KG(his contract is a ridiculous).
