Diaw has been playing PF and Center for the Suns. When Amare gets back, you'll see lineups of: Nash Bell Marion Diaw Amare Diaw has actually become our second best playmaker and he plays best when surrounded with finishers like Marion. Diaw and Marion complement each other. Totally different players. Can't wait to see how Diaw meshes with Amare. Also, those trade scenario's are laughable. Marion is an All-Star and coming off a 3rd team All-Nba year. There's no way he'd be shipped for a bust like Aruajo or an old man like Davis. As if that wasn't bad enough, you actually included James Jones in one of the packages. Come on.

What a ridiculous proposal considering who you just signed! You just overpaid Joe Johnson to be your point guard of the future and now you want to turn around and trade for Marbury? One of the main reasons Joe wanted to leave PHX was so that he could dominate the ball and be "the man" on his own team. Bringing in Marbs would ruin any chance of that and majorly piss off Joe. Unbelievable.

You guys are funny. Joe Johnson is not a point guard and if your management signs him, it won't be to start at PG. He's a pretty good ball handler and passer but that doesn't mean he "has point guard skills". He's good enough to play spot duty at the point(5-10 mins) but nobody with any real knowledge of him as a player would say he's capable or playing the point exclusively. I think you guys have a real good chance at getting him. You're having to overpay by about 3 million per year but you should expect that if you want to lure a guy from PHX to ATL. Amare is great but JJ has emerged as my favorite player on the Suns. Damn Colangelo should have locked him up last season.

No thanks. Suns get raped. Marion is a former All-Star and legit 20/10 guy. Lampe is young prospect with tons of potential. Suns deserve much more than Rasho and a bad contract in return for that package.

I don't think it's unfair to PHX. Right now we are really hurting at center(Voskuhl, Lampe). That's disgustingly bad. Damp is a top 5 center and if he proves that last year wasn't a fluke, I'd trade Marion for him provided the Clips didn't match Q. I just don't see why the Hawks would do it. You already have Diaw and Josh Smith. Marion would eat up all their minutes(he plays around 40 a game). Sure, he'd be an All-Star in the East but you guys are rebuilding and Marion is more of a 3rd option than a cornerstone type guy. Joe Johnson would probably fit your needs better.

This sure makes me feel a lot better about the Nash signing. At least Nash is a proven 2 time All-Star. Manu is more like a 6th man and his contract is almost as large as Nash's. This is the new economics of free agency. If you Hawks fans think you are going to sign a decent FA without overpaying, you are in for a rude awakening. It's getting to the point where role players are getting close to 10 million per year. All-Stars with max or near-max contracts look like relative bargains when you pay a role player like Manu $9 million/year.

The Suns still have the #7 pick. The pick they gave the Bobcats for taking White is a future lotto protected pick owed to PHX via Cleveland. New word is Suns have intensified dealings with ORL for TMac and that is why the HOU deal hasn't been finalized yet. Suns may have upped the offer to Marion + JJ. Suns brought in Josh Smith for a last minute second workout yesterday and are in talks with Cleveland to swap picks (7 for 10). I think the Suns are on the verge of landing McGrady and have decided to shift focus from drafting a PG to a wing player. Smith would presumably still on the board when Cleveland picks at 10.

It's true. It seems Gordon got a promise from the Clips at #4. The Suns scheduled Gordon and Harris for workouts yesterday but Gordon cancelled on them fueling the speculation some team gave him a guarantee. No way he falls to 6.

After those comments from the Lakers GM, I think Kobe is a lock to re-sign with the Lakers. I used to think we had a shot but not anymore. Kobe will be a Laker for life. That being said, I have no clue why the Suns are using up a pick to dump Jahidi. Excluding Kobe, there is no other FA this year that is worth dumping salary for. White's contract only has 1 more year and it should have positive trade value come next year's trade deadline. We shouldn't give up a pick to move him if we have no shot at Kobe. Voskuhl isn't strong enough to hold his ground against the bigger centers in the league and he has zero offensive skills. He's a tremendous hustler and gives max effort every night which is why he has a spot in the league but he's a 10-11th man at best.

He sounds like a nut to me. He comes across as being sheltered by his parents and a little naive. How is this guy going to react to the drastic lifestyle change going into the NBA? If I had the 2nd pick, I'd probably trade it.

There are two lines of thinking going into the draft. 1. You can try to select a player that fills a weakness on your team. 2. You select the best player available, regardless of need. The Suns have always taken a "best player available" strategy in the draft. Yes, our greatest need is at center but I think they'll address that need by signing Okur at about 8 million per. The Suns brass loves athletes. They fell in love with Amare based purely on his athleticism. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take Smith or Igoudala at #7. Sadly it looks like Kobe is sticking with the Lakers.

The Suns would jump at that deal. They'd probably do it with just the future 1st from the Hawks, you could keep the 17th pick. It's a big risk for you though because it's unlikely Smith falls to the 7th pick.

Horrible day for Hawks and Suns. I didn't really believe the Suns would move up but I was really hoping Orlando didn't get the #1 pick. Now we have practically no chance of trading for TMac. Doesn't this make 3 times Orlando has gotten the #1 overall pick in the last 12 years. Jesus. I don't think PHX has ever gotten a #1 in its franchise history.
