  1. Travis rewarded the guys for winning and took an L for it. I think he learns his lesson and makes sweeping changes.
  2. Whose he gonna give the ball to? Bogi? Kev? DeAndre is the only one who deserves it.
  3. Mostly because those guys can't do squat without a screen being set. They can't attack scramble situations or size up their man. They can shoot and pass when they are already in motion. Simmons would work as a release valve by being a threat going downhill while having the passing acumen to get guys easy baskets. Assuming he's not a softie. I prefer getting a Donovan Mitchell type at the 2 because I don't believe Nate can create an offense that would best utilize Trae and Ben.
  4. JC works out if you have a Donovan Mitchell or Jaylen Brown at the 2 so they can attack scramble situations and get to the rim. If you want Kev and Bogi than you need a Simmons type. It all depends on what kind of team you want to build.
  5. We're the Eastern Conference Utah Jazz. They've been garbage without Gobert because he hid alot of their deficiencies. Without a DPOY type player our transition offense has taken a hit and our half-court set has been figured out. Trae needs a legit running mate who can average 25 without him on the court. Or a high-level playmaker at the 4 who can create looks for everyone else. But we would need an offensive guru as the head coach to design a system like that.
  6. He's a theoretical defender type. Has all the "tools" but needs to focus on that end and increase awareness.
  7. We don't have a commanding offense. When teams buckle down o and defend hard we go for empty stretches. Especially in the fourth.
  8. When you watch this team you see the same things happen over and over again. The offense is bland and cookie cutter. The defense has holes like cheese. How does a team drop from an ECF appearance to the lottery? TOO MANY LIMITATIONS!!! Trae, Cap, JC, Kevin, Bogi, Gallo, an are all large contributors that all got PAID but have huge deficiencies in key areas. Even the coach has deficiencies. Trae - His size and defense are issues. BUT he makes up for it and then some because he's a top 5 offensive player in the NBA. I'd like his effort to on defense to be better and for him to emulate a bit of Curry. Cap - If he's not a DPOY honerable mention than he's not as valuable. The Jazz can't win without Gobert and we can't win without DPOY Capela. Jazz are on a 5 game losing streak and if anyone hasn't noticed Gobert has been out for them. Not to mention that his touch is terrible. Can't finish if his life depended on it. JC - Elite play finisher and good locker room guy. Favorite personality on the team. Can't create at all. Limited by length and girth so he can't play bully ball and he isn't skilled enough to be a finesse player. Passing has improved, but not good enough to be a consistent go-to. Kevin - Multi-faceted team player with a variety of skills. Passing, shooting, and handle are all above average. But he does nothing elite. Can't get to the rim and is inconsistent. Not too much of a problem if he remains a bench player. Bogi - A confident sniper with solid playmaking ability. But when his shot is off he does NOTHING. Gallo - Needs to be protected when he's on the court. Makes it hard to play him with Trae and Bogi since they need protection as well. Still a good offensive player. The trend is we have a plethora of limited offensive or defensive players and we lack consistency. All these issues aren't the reason we are losing individually but together it adds too many holes teams can exploit collectively. We have to play a sophisticated style of defense and have to make up for holes but we only have 2 actual defensive minded players in Dre and OO. JC is improved but it's not his forte. Nate's style of offense isn't suited for this team. He gives the players too much freedom and doesn't have creative ways to get them easy shots. Kev and Bogi can't get to the rim and JC can't create on the perimeter. It was ok when teams ran drop coverage on Trae, but they don't do that anymore. What needs to be done? We need changes to the bench and to 1-2 of the starters. Kev and JC can't play with Trae as is. They both have played well with him but together their lack of consistent creation is magnified when they share the court. We need a guy like Jaylen Brown or Donovan Mitchell that can attack scramble situations consistently and don't need Trae to create for them. Or we need Ben Simmons to play the Draymond Green role and create for the limited shooters once Trae is pressured. Or like @NBASupes says, we need a KAT like big and spam a 2 man game with him and Trae.
  9. You can keep one or two finesse guys, but a team can't be built off it.
  10. His style is more suited to be a playmaking 4 similar to Draymond Green. Maybe he's the pf of the future? His defense is atrocious though.
  11. ECF appearance is winning. Regardless of how shit they've looked this year.
  12. He's a good point of attack and man to man defender, but not a disruptive team defender.
  13. Dre won a national championship.
  14. Naw, Dre played ass tonight, but you don't find 6'8 wings that can shoot and defend often. He's highly valuable. OO is a defensive prodigy with a soft touch whose still developing and Trae is Trae. Everyone else can be good contributors on good teams, but they don't fit here.
  15. It's funny how the only guys on this team worth keeping were the all top 5 picks.
  16. Trae, OO and Dre are the only guys that should be not included in trade talks. I love JC but the combo of him, Bogi, and Kev are too limited collectively. We need elite creation from either the 2 or 4 and we don't have it. The point of attack is Trae and he needs someone who can alleviate the pressure. Dre might be that guy but we need someone who LIKES attacking the basket. JC can't play the 5 no matter how much they force it. Shoulda kept OO and Gallo if they wanted to win.
  17. They play zone or trap Trae and noone else can make a play. Our shooters are inconsistent and noone likes attacking the basket other than Trae. That's the only way to beat a zone aside from talented one on one play.
  18. This season is a wash. Travis is right to have everyone available except Trae. OO and Dre need to stay though. We've taken a big step back, but we can still move forward.
  19. OO needs backline help. We play too damn small.
  20. They don't play drop coverage on us anymore. When they pressure Trae up high we need either high IQ playmaking from the screener or we need a high scoring wing that likes attacking the rim to attack the scramble. This offense is too reliant on the talent of the players, but they have deficiencies in key areas.
  21. This offensive and defensive philosophy needs an overhaul. The foundation is read and react but the players are too limited. Kev and Bogi can't get in the lane consistently and John can't create for himself. Teams have picked up on Trae's style and that wouldn't be a problem if we ran sets based on how they are defending it but we aren't. We need either another star that can bend defenses, or a seasoned vet that actually can impact the floor and call people out, or we need some tough hard nosed lunch pail types. A mix of all the above would be nice.
  22. Going into the lottery again might not be a bad idea lmao. This team desperately needs another guy who can get theirs consistently. And Dre has not been featured enough. 3 shots only?
  23. Our offense is so damn predictable and cookie cutter. We have too many limitations in different areas and our chemistry and flow is too trash to mask it.
  24. The reason why the 10 day guys looked good was because even though they couldn't score they were aggressive on D and banged inside. We got a bunch of inconsistent offensive minded guys who don't get in the mix.
  25. His timing has been off a bit this season. His kinda defense is nullified if his positioning is off and his lack of size is exposed a bit. When he's in sync he's stifling and crazy good though.
