This sounds like a GREAT idea. Didn't Chandler do well on the Knicks during the brief Linsanity era? Is he is who I am thinking of? We play a similar style of basketball that the Knicks played under D'Antoni while Carmelo not able to sabotage the system due to being in street clothes.

And then Thabo got comfortable in the system and played great. Thabo is fine. The problem is he's the only 3 on our roster.

He has no 1-on-1 game, so he'll forever be a role player, but there was more to him than shooting open 3's. He had a wonderful feel for our offensive system. Nobody could make the timely cut like Demarre. lolwut Demarre was pretty much the same player both seasons in Atlanta. He improved a little bit, but not dramatically. Bazemore is a bad shooter, he's out of control, and he fouls too much. Those are major fundamental problems. Maybe he'll fix them, but you are operating on blind optimism.

Tyson Chandler was washed up 3 years ago on the Knicks. My concern is that the Spurs did us a favor and I hope they don't expect something in return later on.

I like Splitter in part because his contract is so reasonable.

I like Jenkins better than Bazemore and Hardaway, but I've seen very little of him so I'm probably wrong. I suspect if Jenkins got regular minutes and wasn't looking over his shoulder or deferring to teammates, he's score a ton.

That's silly. If you're rating a GM, you'd give the Portland GM a big positive grade for picking Brandon Roy at that spot in that draft, despite the fact that it didn't work out. He did a great job identifying talent. We just had two consecutive talent-laden drafts for the first time in eons. Budcox got virtually nothing out of those drafts. I hope there is a bigger plan, like signing Hardaway gives us the cap room to sign a stud.

I read this whole thread but didn't see anybody talking about Hardaway at Michigan State. I watched him play at least half a dozen times. He just wasn't very good. He didn't show much offensive talent. Hardly anybody looks more talented in the NBA than they did in college. I can't think of a single example off the top of my head. There are plenty of underachievers in college who blossom in the pros, but they always flashed their talent in college.

He has made two moves. He dumped a good prospect (Payne) for very little in return. He dumped a decent draft pick in a great draft in exchange for a bad player. Both moves look amateurish on the surface. He also didn't make any moves at the trade deadline to help put the team over the top in a season when the Eastern Conference was ripe for the picking. So, he's 0 for 3 so far. Until he makes a good move, it's difficult to presume he knows what he's doing.
