  1. The only thing that Ferry would have done differently IMO is actually pick a player in the draft. But, do we realize that picked player would likely be chilling on the bench outside of garbage time?

He wouldn't have tried to move a mountain to get a star player in free agency, like most people are crying for.

Well, that's a folly.  IF you watch subbing patterns, no team ever subs 5 players at one time.   That means that when Dennis gets on the floor, there are still starters out there.  So there's no need to say that he has nobody to pass to.  (OT: What's wrong with Sefolosha?).  Anyway, the truth that we tend to be circling here is that Dennis doesn't run the offense.  He uses the offense to benefit him and that's where our offense starts to fail.  When he starts playing hero ball, everybody else goes into an iso game that fails in this NBA.   Fortunately, Dennis is not our biggest problem.   Our biggest problem still remains to be Horf playing uninspired and inconsistently.  Still, the Dennis problem is a problem after we fix our other problem.

And when Shelvin Mack starts playing and the Hawks start losing leads and comebacks even FASTER than they do now, will you acknowledge that the Hawks have no backup PG right now?

i don't speak analytics.  So you can have that.  However, what I see is that when Dennis is in the game, we stop passing, we stop running our offense, and he tries to find a way for him to get himself a score.   Maybe that looks good on the analytics.  Sorta like IsoJoe.  When we played IsoJoe, our efficiency was through the roof.  No turnovers because we didn't pass.

OK, we're just going in circles right now.

Maybe this is because right now there is no offense on the bench? Who's the great offensive player off of the bench? Mike Muscala? Lamar Patterson? No. Mike Scott? Unless he returns to 14/15 pre allstar break form, h*ll no. Shelvin Mack? ROFLMAO. Tiago Splitter? ROFL. Sefolosha and Holiday=No.

I would bet my house they will win 30 games let alone be "lucky" to do that.

I over exaggerated but if things continue at the pace they are now, ATL will be 35-47 at the end of the season which is bad and means they should tank and have it be 25 wins instead. 7-11 in 74 games is a 28 win pace. It's now time to ignore the start and look at the now.

We are too close to being good and competitive to not try to work something out.

    You were saying...

No this team is not making the playoffs this year. They will be lucky to win 30 games.

the lost of Carroll hurt this team

Teams would still be putting a body on Korver and living with Carroll trying to beat them with threes, using the other 4 players in the game to pack the paint and force players like Teague and Millsap to beat them with their jump shot when neither are great jump shooters.

That's the essence of what I saw opposing team's game plans as in the playoffs in simple language and guess what, it's STILL the game plan of teams right now.

Carroll also hasn't been good this season. It would have made no difference if he was kept.

  7. Dude's playing like how Dirk does, he's not playing only in the post. And...

They drop their bigs into the paint to stop the Hawks guards drives to the basket

Perhaps...maybe the main reason for this is Teague and Schröder don't have a respected mid range more than bigs shooting jumpers?

The only way your idea would work for ATL is........BLOW IT UP completely. Sell off everybody. Go complete tank mode to get at least one star, and get guards who can shoot in the mid range.

We have a good team that needs more talent.

If we're going to listen to some of the people on here the only way this team wins a championship is:

    1. A complete philosophy change (forget the idea of stretch bigs starting together completely and go acquire that big man that is mostly a garbage type, can average 10-12 RPG per 36 and block shots well).

    2. Acquire that superstar. Either by FA or a trade.

" how long do you think it will be before they catch on that we aint REALLY trying to win big ?? "

The only really good trade bait that the Hawks even have right now is Paul Millsap. May be able to get something with Horford and Schröder, but both of their values have plummeted into the trash can right now.

How about...the answer is Atlanta has no trade bait right now?

Please explain how analytics don't like Bazemore?

The starting lineup with Bazemore is slightly in the negative, and suggests the 7-1 start was a big fluke.

+/- for Bazemore is -1.3 and defensive rating is 103.7 which is bad.

In losses his +/- is -9.

Bazemore can't even guard players his size that can dribble. It's only players that can't dribble that he can.

  11. Analytics don’t like Bazemore but I think I’d kick around the idea of starting him at SG and trying to see if you can acquire a big SF on the market, unfortunately Chandler can't be one of them. Maybe Gallo or for a lesser known name, Covington.

I'll actually point right out at where the game was lost: NINE missed FTs and Teague was subbed out in the 3rd with it a one point game, and Atlanta did not score the rest of the quarter.
