  1. Regarding the "sign Leonard first and then sign Millsap comment", that's not how it works. We'd have to renounce Millsap to sign Leonard, and then we'd lose the rights to Millsap.
  2. Why no talk about Wesley Matthews? He's a lock-down perimeter defender and he's one of the very best 3 pt shooting off-guards in the league. I think he fits us perfectly, and he's not the Blazers future the way Leonard is the Spurs future. Obviously Marc Gasol would be a huge get for anyone, but Matthews seems more signable and far less likely to get max money thrown at him.
  3. Clearly Antić needs more reps to get "in a groove"
  4. Why did we make zero effort to get Brendan wright? He seemed to be exactly what we needed
  5. 1) Antić is horrific. He does some "things that don't show up in the box score", but the stuff in the box score has been abysmal. 2) the probability of a top 7 pick increased with this loss 3) good lesson as others have stated 4) celtics aren't exactly a rebounding stalwart, so getting destroyed on the glass against them is...um... Humbling g 5) lets hope the rest at the break helps us. Espn commenters are suggesting hawks peaked early. They may be right. 6) teague dribbling the clock down in our last possession was the stupidest single play of the game. Running the clock down renders you less likely to make a basket. The ONLY REASON to do it is that doing so Deprives a possession from the other team. In the event it does not, you merely take a bad shot and give the ball to the Opposition
  6. No really, let's get up by 18 and play like dog butt and lose
  7. I have an idea. Lets hold Boston under 30% shooting and still lose to them
  8. This reminds me of being in a casino and watching some guy hit a couple of times in roulette and someone commenting on his system. Drafting in the lottery is easy. Drafting in the mid/late first is a crapshoot. BK's drafting in the lottery is proof that he was a horrific drafter. The circumstances behind the Smoove and Teague picks drove them more than BK's skill. One was a hometown boy and the other was whichever PG was left of the mid-round three This reminds me of being in a casino and watching some guy hit a couple of times in roulette and someone commenting on his system. 9. If we're thinking of it probabilistically, then hitting on 1/3 isn't bad at all. Let's say a genius drafter hits on 2/3 of his mid-round picks. Over such a small sample, he will hit on 1 or fewer of 3 picks 26% of the time. So it's very possible ferry could be an outstanding drafter but has just been unlucky. And if u add in his 2nd rounders he looks pretty good. Pete Babcock, however does not have a small sample. Go to basketball reference and just scroll through the drafts from the 90s and 2000s. See how prevalent 25 win players (win shares) are in the mid first.
  10. No chance millsap walks? No chance Pero gets hurt? No chance Al tears another pec? He may well have gotten a chance, but I'm giving bud the BOTD. He didnt see much from Payne in practice
  11. The problem is, Minny may not make the playoffs for the next 5 yrs. then we get a 2nd rounder. If we trade the pick, it will be more valuable to us
  12. I just wonder, Dolfan...is there really no advantage in having a single player crash? Tony Allen sure did make a difference in the last game.
  13. Coach bud will get guys rest once we clinch #1.
  14. This really helps. I put another squawker on ignore and it made my experience much more enjoyable. Utilize that option squawkers.
  15. That's what I suspected. Thanks. It's frustrating to watch but the eyes don't tell you what is statistically correct. That's what I suspected. Thanks. It's frustrating to watch but the eyes don't tell you what is statistically correct. Don't know how that happened. I just got a double double
  16. Does any site keep stats on pct of 3 ptr misses rebounded for team and for opponents. It seems like it's 0% vs 50%
  17. Someone explain this to me: why are we always nowhere near on rebounds? Is it because we overplay perimeter and passing lanes? Is it because we sell out for transition and to get back on D? I've noticed that when we attempt a 3, there are no hawks in the vicinity of the basket when the shot is missed. Maybe it's statistically more advantageous to sell out for D and prevent the transition basket?
  18. I have an idea. Lets give our opponents three attempts per possession!
  19. The difference in this game was rebounding though. 55-37 rebounding edge for MEM, 17 offensive rebounds and 20 second chance pts for them. Every well defended tough shot that bounced off seemed to find its way into the hands of a grizzly, and too many times that was tony Allen

    Feeling thankful

Good posts. Ugh Al Harrington! Ugh trading Jason Terry for Antoine Chucker. Tyronn Lue...I kind of liked him. He wasn't starting material tho. Remember when Darvin Ham used to "go to work" on the post? Remember when we had a "new Sharif in town"? Remember when our big free agent signing was Ken "the snake" Norman? Ok that last one very few of us remember. The point is, it's great to just be relevant, because we haven't really since 1994--even when we were the #3 seed a few years back (we were blow-out swept by Orlando that year)
  21. We also can't rebound any worse. This is pathetic
  22. It's understandable for longtime Hawks fans to be pessimistic. Every "plan" hatched by hawks brass has flopped: babcock's Rider rebuild and point forward-based team, BK's team of "long" players, mike woodson's badboys lite, and finally drew's ball movement offense.
  23. How many fast breaks are we going to blow? This seems like an epidemic of late. Is it just me or are we tending to throw the ball away when we have the advantage?
