  1. Detroit just added another FRP … more ammo for Ayton?
  2. What if the potential trade up being discussed isn’t for Ivey, but rather if Holmgren falls to 4 does a trae / Chet pairing intrigue anyone else? We could make a running for the lightest G/F combo - weight wise - in the league!
  3. Way too much smoke about Daniels being our target makes me think Daniel’s is in fact - not our target. And that we are moving up for either another player (Sochan?) OR we are looking to move up to package for an established player.
  4. Bam is 6’ 9.75” in shoes with a 7’2.75” wingspan per Nba combine measurements - which are accurate. OO Is 6’9” with shoes and 7’1” wingspan based on everything I can find. can y’all stop now? @terrellhad the right measurements for bam.
  5. Depending on the contract/role he is looking for - yes as a backup forward. He would bring a demeanor the team is lacking right now. Although he and Trae may come to fisticuffs at some point.
  6. My assumptions are based on his back checking out medically. His skill with trae is worth the other baggage, imo.
  7. Any chance Nate had another son he could add to the squad now? His son may be a good coach. And I could just be petty about it. Or just annoyed we lost a good coach. But I don’t like the combo of a father/sons coaching together in general. So maybe some more coaching turnovers will come.
  8. Ideally: Ben Simmons Actual Guess: TJ Warren signing and no major trades.
  9. I see what you did there - fellow apologist.
  10. I’m perfectly ok in that scenario keeping jc. That move is 2 fold on why I would understand it if we made it … 1) we absolutely believe someone like Daniels is the perfect fit next to trae long term 2) avoids the LT that’s also the kind of move if it doesn’t work - schlenk is fired asap. Not my career tho so
  11. So … cobbling together comments throughout this thread here and trying to think through players we are interested in publicly, names/trades mentioned in this thread and what is a good fit for Trae. 1) sign Bobby portis, Dedmon (min) 2) resign delon, rife, skylar 3) jc for 7 (dyson) + Winslow 4) capela + bogi + 16 for Simmons + Cam Thomas Trae / delon / rife huerter / Thomas / mays hunter / Daniels / Winslow simmons / jj / open or vet min portis / oo / dedmon that is a vastly improved perimeter defense and length to surround trae with. And the lineup combos you can run out there will always have 2 or 3 ball handlers on the floor. Portis and OO with a jumper would keep our spacing. The more I think about it (even with the Simmons risk) the happier I would be with this plan. Lineups like … trae - Simmons - Hunter - oo - portis (surround trae with trees) dyson - Simmons - Hunter - oo - portis (all defense with playmaking) trae - dyson(or Wright) - Hunter - Simmons - oo (future starting/closing 5) This will be close - but it would keep us under the LT this year depending on Portis + Delon’s contract. still plenty of questions tho - do we get killed on the boards / in the post? Can we convince Bobby to come on down? Is Simmons actually available and healthy? Will portis punch simmons? if Simmons health checks out - and we buy dysons jumper - I would be happy taking this risk (especially more than gobert or ayton).
  12. Fair points. And this is why Schlenk gets paid the big bucks. The construction of a team - within a salary cap - is so complicated. And making the potential call on if JJ is ready to replace JC (assuming upgrades elsewhere) is a call I wouldn’t make this year (I think he should take the Gallo role for a season). It’ll be fun to see what moves are made. And inevitably - people will be unhappy.
  13. The problem is … what defensive 4s are available that would be a real improvement to JCs defense? Unless we are banking our season on OO being our starting 4.
  14. Revisionist history. He was drafted top 10 and at the time - everybody, non hawks fans included - thought we got a steal. He was a quality prospect. Just didn’t develop into a quality player for us.
  15. If he can develop a bit of a face up game - I see him as pascal-lite. Being the resident pascal homer, that seriously intrigues me. But at the cost of JC!? Nah.
  16. I would think Daniels or Sochan is the pick if we trade into top 10 - Ivey if top 5. I struggle accepting that trade if it includes JC. bogi for Isaac trade is intriguing on paper. Especially since isaacs deal is on partially guaranteed starting year after next so if he never gets healthy, we can clear cap space and not be stuck.
  17. Congrats trae and fam! There is nothing like it!
  18. Im a fan, but there is almost 0 chance we can get him without a trade up.
  19. Trae brings a level of offense that ayton will not. Trae is a net positive. Ayton I could buy as a net neutral. Gobert to me is getting played off the court. I do not want to pay max money for a player that likely gets played off the court as we saw this year with ayton.
  20. Watching games like last night leaves me with even less interest in both ayton and gobert. They would be played off the court … so 1 of our 2 max guys couldn’t stay on the court.
  21. When it comes to Duke - I wouldn’t be shocked if Wendell Moore had the biggest impact to winning basketball out of the bunch - next to banchero at least (still not sold here either).
  22. Right. That’s exactly it. Or they could look to find a better star fit next to Tatum. I mean - they’ve played together 5 years. Have yet to make a finals. And brown is in a contract year next year. To act like they won’t consider what’s out there is pretty short sighted. Maybe I should have emphasized for the reactionary types. I don’t think we have the pieces to get a brown. But the ripple effects of a potential trade like that is something to pay attention to as to who becomes available. We are debating potential trades before it’s June. No draft. No free agency. No champion. So to think certain people will become available and others will get taken off the market in May is pretty laughable. but you do you. Perhaps we shouldnot do anything and let Hunter take that next step to a 20ppg scorer. He’s def proven capable even back to his college days when he averaged 9 and 15 a game.
  23. Still a ways to go. If Celtics lose on Sunday, they have to strongly consider splitting the Brown/Tatum pairing. could make Brown available, or the downstream could make another star available that we could make a run for.
