Looks Awesome and I wish it's possible.....but I think it's a pipe dream thinking we will get our two unprotected picks back.
I’m assuming 2025 isnt coming back. You may be right tho, and I’m too optimistic thinking we could get the swap and ‘27 pick back (2/3 ain’t bad?)

Here’s a combination of a few different rumors we’ve been tied to. I’d pull the trigger. Then maybe something like capela for grimes + filler.
ATL: Siakam, 2026 swap and 2027 picks back from San Antonio
SAS: DJM
TOR: Hunter, McDermott, ‘24 FRP (TOR via SAS) and ‘24 FRP (SAC via ATL)
trae / grimes / jj / Siakam / oo

I understand why nobody outside of the 2 are untouchable. This team knows changes coming. Checked out.
-
I’m not saying I want Wiggins, but going after him would tie into the post from camps. They want to increase size across the board and move JJ to SF.
Maybe they are considering Hunter for him? Wiggins would play the 2 with JJ at the 3. And move DJ for a PF or find some other solution there.
wiggins tho … maybe we can trick him into always thinking it’s a contract year.

And Topin just blew by our “best” POA defender like he had concrete in his shoes. He’s mailing it in.

I would like to think the leaks are by design to try to drive interest, but with this FO … who knows.
lil Nicky may be running his mouth too much on 2K

The team would like to get bigger (like 10lbs/2 inches per position) and that starts with Jalen over Dre. The interesting name I heard (and I heard several) was Marvin Bagley at the 4 next to Jalen. They think that's the kind of size/fit they'd like and they think Trae can bring out the best in a player like Bagley.
Reading into this would indicate OO is not the C of the future. OO is however about the size of bagley. So you know what that means … Ayton is back on the menu with OO at PF!
Or the long term vision is OO is nothing more than an expensive first big off the bench. I have my doubts of him playing PF full time, but maybe?

Griffin for grimes is reasonable. Although I think we will miss griffin quite a bit if he gets everything in his personal life back. Likely a better fit overall.
Murray for grimes and picks is

I’ll hold out hope for something Trey Murphy + 2027 MIL FRP. 100% prepared for less of a return than that.

If we move DJM for a front line player - I hope we are able to make some follow up moves and get someone(s) like Royce O’Neal, Delon Wright, Gary Harris and Drummond. We need some physicality. Team is too soft.

The only player the Wizards are worse on the court than Kuzma is Jordan Poole. That is elite company right there. Sigh.
would be a classic hawks move unless they just want to get out of the Hunter contract that bad … but I can’t see that being the case.
-
Unless you have a ++ rebounder at SF and C (probably SG while we are at it), Hunter will never work full time at PF.
I think it’s clear that DJ is a good player just a poor fit at this point.

No thanks to Ingram or Zion. We need guys that play more than 30 games a season. I don’t see them trading Trey or Herb either … those are guys that from all I have seen and heard are part of their core. However …
dj for Dyson Daniels / Naji Marshall / 2027 MIL FRP (protected?) is a trade I make as long as we can then make a follow up trade of something like Hunter / griffin / 2027 mil frp / 2024 atl frp / swap for Lauri M
Trae / Daniels / jj / Lauri / cap
Bogi / Marshall / bey / Onyeka
Much better fitting pieces around Trae imo + size for the starters.

How much of that was because his better 3pt% in Atlanta on non-corner 3's was based on the offense drawing more attention from him and him getting better looks and how much was just him being hotter in Atlanta (or colder in Detroit) on the same shots? I'd be interested to see that breakdown.
But you can see that the 34.5% in Detroit improving to a 37.6% without any change in shooting %s shows the impact of quality of shots. And the biggest factor in that is not him making better decisions but the offense being run and his role in the offense.
Interesting stuff. I was not able to pull non corner 3 numbers quickly, but a brief pass showed one of the biggest changes was He cut his pull-up 3 attempts by > 60% when comparing pre all star #s (DET) to post all star (ATL). He went from averaging 1.6 pull-up 3s a game to 1. His overall 3PT attempts dropped by .6 a game over that time frame. That shooting % on those shots did jump quite a bit too.
Even If he kept the reduction in pull up 3 attempts, but matched his dreadful 28.7% on those looks in Detroit, he’s still a 37.5% shooter on 5+ attempts in Atlanta.
Either something clicked mentally or it seems like the coaches told him what type of shots to look for to maximize his effectiveness …Usually, a coach has designed spacing and sets and has told players what they are supposed to look for and these coaching instructions are highly responsible for the quality and types of attempts a player takes.

>= 37% from 3
>= 59% TS %
< 15% TOV %
> 0.17 WS/48
consistent effort on defense
this would have to be a guaranteed all star performance + mvp running depending on our record

I have zero takeaway from his summer league run. Without knowing the exact plan, it felt like we asked Mo + Seth to play a role they would be asked to play. And they both looked pretty good playing that role.
with Kobe, it felt like we asked the guy who should be playing an off ball, lower usage role at this stage to play like Jordan Clarkson. And that was an inefficient chuckfest with the occasional flash. I’d like to see how we actually plan to use him, but not a SL to remember.

So? Did you just ask the question as a vehicle to attack someone's answer? Seems so. I blame myself for not seeing this coming a mile away. I'm out.
Do you think he gives a fist pump every time he catches someone in the trap?

Hmmm.
aren’t Clint and Hunter the only 2 hawks we have not seen at summer league???

Ehh. I don’t like the trae - dj - jaylen fit.
if we are going star hunting I’d rather it be a 4/5 to play next to our guards.

If we traded capela for draft capital - horford would be a great replacement (perhaps into the TPE for very little?).
trae - dj - dre - horford - oo
horford at the 4 with oo for 8-10 a night would be a really good duo. And it opens up minutes for JJ. But I’m not sure I can get over the history.
if we were to trade for Alice. Can we demand his sister be banned from the state?

Grant Williams around/just below the Austin Reeves contact could be a great value sign.
but then you really need to consolidate some of your forwards for an upgrade somewhere else. Wayyyy to many guys with far too few minutes.

We know it’s not an already leaked or rumored name so PG, Siakam, Ayton, KAT, Jaylen Brown, Gobert, OG, Embiid, Harden….these names have all been leaked no matter if they make sense or not it’s not one of these players.
Who does everyone think the mystery team(s) or players could be ??
A few other names I haven’t heard any rumors tied to Atlanta, but may be on the block …
Zach Lavine
Zion
Brandon Ingram
Andrew Wiggins
Julius Randle
Ben Simmons
although, I don’t think Murray gets traded. I think we flip Capela for a backup center + future FRP (Zubac?). Then let it ride into the season - although I think a consolidation trade is really needed to upgrade high end talent + clear up playing time.

Jazz team name dropped + Mikey saying some team came to table with players only and no picks …
Murray for Walker Kessler, Taylor Hendricks, THT works salary wise … and tank wise.
i don’t watch enough jazz to know if that’s even in the ballpark of fair value. Kessler was great last year and I liked Hendricks coming out of college. That’s about it. Hurry up trade deadline.
