The dream scenario would be keepin Teague and have Schröder has a young high quality backup..Resign Josh 5yrs 75..Resign Korver at 4yrs 16..and sign Bynum on a 2 yr 20 deal..guys like Jefferson would be lookin for longer deals..2 yrs with Bynum would be perfect cause 2 yrs would be around the time Al comes off the books..Signin Bynum would give us future flexibility.. Josh Smith and Al Horford are the best 4/5 tandem in the League..They have so much chemistry together with their ball sharing in the high and low post..True we do need additional size when playin against less than a handful of teams and this was compensated this past season with scrubs like Petro and Jason Collins..It will be a huge mistake if Danny Ferry undervalue a young core that has proven its worth and ability to consistently win even without Joe Johnson..Smith/Horford/Teague don't receive enough credit for being wimners...There are at least 14 teams that would love to be in a playoff race for the last six or so seasons..So true these guys are not CHAMPIONS but what fans should realize is these guy's are PROVEN WINNERS. .When healthy we dominated the Pacers this past season amd would have beat them if we weren't banged up and lacking our servicable big man Pachulia and shot creator Lou Williams.. With veteran perimeter help we could take the next step..I also like the fact that Ferry added some young bigs that can develop from goin against smith and Horford everyday in practice..

I remember Nique's Spin being more from the post up position..But how dare you say I don't remember Nique!? Nique is the reason why I'm a hawks fan. But if we are going to credit the spin to Nique fine.. I have no problem with that at all. Josh jus need to keep doing it because it's very effective..However Nique wasn't more of a spinner than Augmon..The spin move on the face up drive is how Augmon made his living.

I see over the last few weeks he has used that Stacy Augmon spin more which is a great move for him and hard to stop due to his athletic ability. Alot of people including Josh don't realize how well he shoots that bank shot from 15 feet like Tim Duncan. I would like to see Josh hoist 3 of those bankshots a game rather that shooting long J's just inside the 3 point line.. If he is going to do that he might as well hoist a 3. I have also seen an improvement in Josh with his driving ability in the half court.. Whe he stays low with the dribble he is much more effective with his drives then when he stands high dribbling the ball like a clumsy person.. And what I like about when he stays low is that he doesnt have the Marvin Williams syndrome and make himself smaller he is still able to explode and make a aggressive finish. If he realizes his strengths, make free throws and stay in attack mode he could easily be a 20ppg scorer in the league.. Great game Tonight.. The Kid has all the tools.

I think Larry Drew has his flaws but all and all he is a much better coach than Woody, Terry Stotts, Lon Kruger and even Lenny Wilkens in my book. People are going to go nuts when I say better coach than Lenny but some of those teams that Lenny had probably could have went alot further with a better offense.. His system was pratically the same as Mike Woodson's Iso heavy system. I think the different starting lineups have help more than hurt because with the exception of injury the 3 constants will be Smith/Horford/Teague who are the nucleus and should be the future of the team. Truth of the matter is guys; We only have 3 starters and the mixing and matching has made us a little less predicable when teams try to scout us. Give the guy credit he has lead us to more wins than the Lakers and has done a great job considering we traded a 6 time allstar in Joe Johnson.. The guy should actually be a coach of the year candidate.. You boxscore watchers are getting more pathetic by the day with your analysis of our team..

He could always hit the trey..the improvement has come with that mid range J..it was inconsistent last season this season it has been much improved..

We are winning with less talent then we had last season..it ludicrous to say that Smith and Horford are soft when we've seen these guys scrap and bang to help us win 45+games year in and year out..This thread has been made about JJ when it shouldn't be..yes JJ was flawed and not worth the 120 million and Ferry did the right thing by trading him..We got the best service out of JJ to the tune of 6 alstar appearances..The JJ that Brooklyn is going bananas about is a step slower then the JJ we had..I just feel like if we are going to dump someone it should be Al because he isnt very productive at the 4 and allow guys like Brandon Bass to handle him..Josh creates a 1/3 of his scoring opportunities so if small ball doesn't work it should be that goes..But I totally disagree about needing to abandon the Josh/Al tandem when ths center position has been totally eliminated in the modern era and guys like KG starting at center..And center not even being listed on the allstar ballot..We lost to the Celtic s during the woody era due to his love affair with a defenseless Mike Bibby..We lost to the bulls because of some MVP named Derrick Rose who was twice as good as our 120 million dollar man not because of Josh smith.Its laughable when theses theories about us being soft in the paint arise when both josh and Al average close to 10 boards..

I'm from Mississippi and have been down with the hawks through thick and thin since the Dominique Era and I just think it's sad how the fair weather fans who are Native of Atlanta view the players and the team especially J Smooth. It's just disgusting to see how year after year we bash our own players and then once those players leave and go to other teams how they are finally appreciated. I've seen this happen with guys like Jet Terry, Deke, and Joe Johnson to name a few. I think that the hometown fans lack of team loyalty, and knowledge of basketball is one of the reason the national media throws these garabage trade rumors out there.. I just thought it was really sad how some of you jump all over the idea of trading a versatile player like Smith for scraps like Gortat, Udoh..It's sad how some of you have even bought into the notion that Al Horford is the best player on the team like how the media wants u to believe. I never see anyone mention dumping him even though he has underachieved for a guy who was drafted 3rd in the draft. But don't get me wrong I like Al and personally feel like the issue with the team is not the 4 and 5 positions. The Josh/Al combo hasn't been our downfall it has been not having a closer to finish the game. Joe could have been that for us but he bought into the fans pleas to take the ball to the basket instead of playing to his strengths and winning games like Reggie Miller. Last season he did more closing games on jumpers and has continued success doing so this season for Brookyln and being praised by the media with names such as Joe Clutch. If Horford hadn't been a lil bitch and came back game one of the Celtic series last season we would have easily beat boston and been a serious threat to Miami. But when people finally get there wish and run the hometown kid away and he starts putting up those 20/20 games for another team he will finally get the praise he deserve and talents will no longer go under the radar. I'm glad Ferry stayed pat because we have the supporting cast and just need someone to fill that void left by Joe and be a true number 1 option..Hopefully we resign Smith and bring in that go to guy and we can get over the hump. I love the nucleus of Smith/Horford/Teague and we just need to add one more piece and we can contend..we are not that far away people so stop with all this bullshit of trying to morgage the whole farm for nothing.

Jeff Green has been getting highlight reel dunks all season with the Celtics..Jeff Green was awesome his last season with OKC, Presti just realized that they weren't going to win a championship wit green as a four due to already having a dynamic 3 in KD..Green just had a set back with the heart issue he is a excellent player who has a reasonable contract..There is no doubt he would be a excellent 3 and would help against the heat..he did a excellent job guarding Lebron in a couple games this season..I dont see a better 3 we can get in free agency or in the draft..because we really have another starting caliber 4 in 9/5 and could leave Al at center and go withTeagueHarrisGreenI.
