  1. [T]he center position has changed in the NBA. We need someone to play big [i]s a statement made when you have completely lost touch with the way the NBA is played. You have to have a big that can defend on the perimeter and shoot the basketball.
  2. Got to love fans holding that candle that the league will somehow return to its post heavy roots from years ago where bigs don’t have to actually move.
  3. He was DPOY in 2013. That was not the modern era. Idiots were still taking Jahlil Okafor types high back then.
  4. Gasol couldn’t play in the modern NBA. He was getting phased out as a 33 year old with the direction the NBA was going. Once again, this is an archetype that you absolutely do not draft high.
  5. Risacher is probably my #2 to Sarr. 6’ 10” with legit shooting upside. Three and D wing archetype. Probably not the defensive player Ron Holland is right now, but better shooter with a more projectable frame.
  6. That would be relevant only if Edey actually had the ability Joker has. He doesn’t, and he’s a far worse athlete.
  7. Who gives a shit about posting up?
  8. Revisionist history going on in this thread.
  9. I didn’t realize that 48.3% on pull up jumpers is a crap percentage. Good to know.
  10. You haven't watched him, have you?
  11. Saying that Sarr has no offensive game is just a flat-out false statement.
  12. Alex Sarr shot 48.3% on off the dribble jumpers IN GAME this year.
  13. So, you think they have maxed out their shooting ability?
  14. Bingo! The archetype of player that Sarr is DOES go #1 overall. You have Wemby, Chet, Evan Mobley, JJJ...etc. While all weren't #1 picks, they are all top 4 picks who are of this archetype. The last time the Clingan archetype went #1 overall was DeAndre Ayton in 2018, and we see how that has turned out.
  15. Oh, absolutely. My team building vision going forward would include adding long, athletic, floor spacing wings and multi tooled guards with length.
  16. Defensively, no. Johnson, Okongwu, and Sarr would be absolutely dominant defensively. There is some haziness about the offense, but I believe all three can shoot well enough to make it work.
  17. Sarr is a far better shooter than Edey. His form is better. He doesn't bring the ball way behind his head like Edey does. The operation is quicker, but there is nothing about Edey's game that is quick. Sarr can catch and shoot. He can shoot off the dribble. He can take the ball from the perimeter to the basket. Edey can do none of these.
  18. You don't pick Edey at 10 either. This idea that Edey is the best fit alongside Trae is warped at best. It's basically saying that Trae needs a big, slow, limited big and can't play with athletic bigs that have versatility to their game. Defensively, Edey with Trae would be an absolute nightmare for the Hawks. It would be very bad. Trae is a bad defender at point guard, and Edey will be a worse defender at center due to his inability to move well enough. Sarr is the perfect fit for Trae. Well, actually the perfect fit for Trae would be JJJ, but Sarr is in that archetype of player.
  19. Jokic is at least an elite passer and shooter. He at least has skills that are elite that aren't just about his size.
  20. You shouldn't use high picks on bigs who can only play drop coverage, and especially drop bigs who do not have a perimeter game.
  21. I don't see how anyone can look at the bigs that have been featured in the NBA recently and actually believe that Zach Edey has more than a snowball's chance in hell of being able to play with those guys. He's slow, unathletic, and lacks skill.
