  1. The fight was a joke. I like Kimbo and I want to be a fan of his, but this is the last fight of his that I'll watch if they keep feeding him cans. That's what tank is at this point, a can. I mean it was sad really, they show him getting off the public bus, walking into the tunnel ALONE, no team, no trainers, nothing. SAD. He was there to draw a check though, so props to him for being able to do that, but he had no business getting in the ring and the end result was exactly as I predicted it to be.

Honestly I have to say that I think any skilled MMA fighter, be it BJJ or wrestler would stand to mess kimbo up, but then again, he's a puncher and they always have a punchers chance.

  2. unless they took specific liberties with the movie, it should all be taken from Krakauer's book, which contained his writings. When I said he went there to die, I didn't mean that was his sole intention, but a man who is completely unprepared and untrained to survive in the wilderness alone, who decides to do what he did can't have his own well being at the forefront of his mind. It would be like me decided I'm going to go rock climbing without any training or experience and deciding to tackle the toughest face on the mountain. I'd be called a reckless fool who had little concern for his own safety. While his writings present one face, his actions certainly contradict them to the point that you can't really be sure.

You should see the documentary on the subject, it would likely change your opinion of things some. It gives a variety of perspectives on what happened and to be honest, mine is very much a result of what some of the park rangers had to say. He had many many opportunities to walk out of there alive and refused to do so until his body and mind simply weren't capable, from either hunger or poisoning by what he'd eaten, to make it out. The supplies he took were completely inadequate and he had only a book to tell him what was safe to eat and what wasn't. To me that's not a rational thinking person!

  3. Yah I'd read a good bit on it before the movie ever came to be. There were people who built him up as some sort of naturalist hero, in a sense, and I never got the impression that he was anything more than a mentally unstable guy who went where he shouldn't have and paid the ultimate price. I saw a special on tv a while back about it too where they interviewed a bunch of people including some park rangers from there and it was interesting. Knowing that Sean Penn was directing and hearing some of his comments on it, a fully expected it to be played as a tragedy, which I don't feel it was.

  4. my opinion of a story that I already know well enough and a movie that I know quite a bit about without having to see it is wrong? Uh..no... I think not.

I find nothing entertaining about his story and it's nothing I consider worthy of of my time. There's nothing inspirational or entertaining there. He was a mentally unstable man. He did not go into the Alaskan wilderness to live, as the story and movie suggest, he went there to die. He was completely unprepared and died less than two miles away from a rangers station, which he could have easily walked to if he had any desire to live. He's not a heroic figure or someone to be studied or admired or portrayed as a modern day adventurist in the mold of Thoreau. He was a wack job who had no respect for nature or his own life and he died as a direct result of that.

That is my opinion and just because yours may differ (have you even seen it yet?) that doesn't mean mine is wrong.

  5. After much hard work and effort on Dolfan's part, the Squawk's new look will be going live this Sunday.

As always if you have any issues, please try clearing your browser cache and then try again. We expect a smooth transition but if any major issues arise we will switch back to the old look until we get things sorted out. Thanks.

  6. great movie. I'd say one of my favorites of the new year so far. It's a shame that the way they're marketing it because there's more to it than the splatter commercials suggeset. The character was played perfectly, not over the top. The story, while being a little thin on dialogue, was perfect for the movie. I give it an easy 8.5/10. It's a shame that so many critics can't get past the blood or the previous movies to see it for what it is.

  7. great game, and not just because the Patriots lost. The giants played a great game, defense ruled the first half. Eli has really stepped up the 2nd half of this season. I hope this is a sign of things to come for him. The poor guy has been beaten down by fans and media for so long. He's certainly set expectations for himself for next season!

That play in the 4th where he shook off the tackle and made that pass is one of the greatest plays in SB history. That was serious man. Game on the line, surrounded, hands everywhere. He gets away, gets outside the pile and makes that pass, but the catch was just as good. wow..

    18-1 = fail

  8. act like a man, for once in the history of this website, act like a man. The giants are the best team in the NFL this season, they did it when it counted and outplayed the UNBEATEN Patriots in every way in the superbowl. Nobody else did that all season, nobody else deserved to be there, nobody else deserved to win.

If you don't like the rules that the sport is played by, stop watching. It's that simple. Then you won't have to whine about who wins and we won't have to read it year after year. or.. you could..you know...act like a man..

This is the happiest moment as a sports fan in as long as I can remember.

I guess being a Dophin fan you have to have something to chear about. This shows the true value of the Super Bowl trophy when unworthy wild card teams win it.

please, be a man and don't start in with your "they didn't deserve to be there". The giants were the better team, period. Nobody else deserved to be there, nobody else played good enough to win.

  10. nice man that's awesome! We had a theme'd New years eve party and made everyone dress up like rock stars. It was pretty fun.

they actually have the "rock band stage kit" coming out that includes some lights and a fog machine that you plug in via USB into your console and the lights all strobe in sync with the lights in the actual game. It's going to retail for, I think $99. Sounds perfect for what you're planning on doing. We have rock band parties at our place every couple of weeks and it's a blast. I'm sure I'll end up buying the thing too..
