Sac paid us 2 2nds to take him, what did you think his value would be. His value to the Hawks was in the locker room and being better than Len and Jones.
I thought we were getting Gordon Heyward and 14 for him lol

Let's be real...Dedmon was on the way out as soon as Okongwu's name was called. I just question whether we could have gotten more for him, but if the market wasn't there, it wasn't there. Both only have 1 year left on their deals so that's a positive. Outside of that, meh?

It's almost painful reading through some of these draft analyses and seeing how blatant it is that these writers have absolutely 0 clue about the Hawks.

Okongwu is a player I had in the top 10 of my own big board, but this is a strange fit. In terms of front-court players, Obi Toppin is still on the board, and I preferred him. In terms of fit, I liked Tyrese Haliburton here. The Hawks have Clint Capela already as a defense-first center to protect the rim. Grade: C+
"The Hawks have Clint Capela already as a defense-first center to protect the rim."
BUT YET,
"In terms of fit, I liked Tyrese Haliburton here."
Sooooo you don't think we should have picked Okongwu because we already have Capela, but think we should have picked Hali EVEN THOUGH we already have a bona fide stud in Trae Young at the point...

I hadn't heard of Skylar Mays before his name was called at #50 lol
I'm liking what I'm reading in his draft profile though. I see him being listed as a Shooting Guard primarily, but I do see some places that think he can play point.
Anyone with any knowledge of him think he can be our primary backup PG, or is that not really his game?

Okongwu has been my guy last few weeks! Let's go! We've got our starting 5 the next 10 years these last 4 drafts.

Exactly. That said, I am going to continue to provide updates on what's he's been providing. But when a beat says it's not true when that's just not what Gordon is doing. Why is he talking to the Knicks and Hornets in the contract talks? Why is every team the Celtics been rumored to trade him to worse than what the Hawks will be in 2020-21 or exactly on the same level. There is no, Hayward to a good team rumor out there. Like I said, bullshit.
This beat writer is lying or they are fibbing to him in order to do something much bigger which is what's being said behind the scenes. I will continue to trust my guy.
He hasn't let me down much when it comes to general league talk and hes been fairly accurate considering shit rarely happens in this league due to teams changing their minds, agents pumping their players, using the media to bulldog a franchise, and posturing.
I am going to remain loyal as I have zero reason not to.
For sure, keep 'em coming! I enjoy the rumors, but I always have to ask myself first, "From a basketball perspective, does this make sense?" And I think what you've said here about Heyward does. I hope later tonight we're celebrating an Okongwu pick, a Heyward trade, and another pick that we received from Boston.

He covers the Celtics. It says so right in his bio so of course his tweets are going to be more "pro" Boston. Doesn't mean he doesn't have contacts within the organization or know what's going on up there. Could his info be wrong? Sure. But so could the info we're getting "rumored" here on this board by "anonymous" sources.

Add Okongwu and another 1st and I think Travis had a heck of an off season. If we get Boston's 26 or 30th, I would like Bane or Woodard.
How are you feeling about us taking Okongwu at 6 if he's available? Do you think he'd be the pick?
Over the past week or so, I've started hoping he would be our target.

Yeah I don’t understand why a kid with this kind of talent would say things like that but honestly he’s just being truthful.
unfortunately with that kind of attitude I wouldn’t be shocked if he slipped in the draft. I tried to defend his passion but he isn’t serious enough, he’s just a talented kid who was blessed with some very incredible gifts we may not see fully reached.
Yeah I don't know if I'd even take him at 6 now if he somehow dropped that far. What was he thinking?

He says if he were drafted by the NFL tomorrow, he'd let basketball go. "Because you can do anything on the field," he explains. "You can spike the ball. You can dance. You can do all type of disrespectful stuff." In the NBA, he says, "you can't do any of that. You'll get fined."
Okay... Wow... Hadn't seen this yet. BIG YIKES!
Why would he say this stuff? I was up for trading #6 and Huerter to go get him, but not after that.

It's the flexibility of having 26-40 million and just a full MLE. That's a massive coup for Ainge.
And in return a coup for us to get a lottery pick out of it potentially. This seems like a win/win as long as you don't mind scratching Danny's back?

I don't know how Hayward would fit in here off the court. I wouldn't be upset if we got him but I won't be upset if he goes to Indiana either.
Ummmm what? - 5 words: Matt Ryan and Freddie Freeman. I think the community loves them. Everyone loved Korver too.
It all comes down to winning. If you win, you're going to be a hero in this town, no matter what your culture. So there's no reason to make it about that. If an elite player doesn't fit your culture and we're making it about that, why would he or anyone else ever come here?

Live video of me if we trade JC for the inferior Siakam and his max contract:

At this point, there is no one left for the megatrade to include
Yeah I'm seriously starting to have some doubts about this "mega" trade.

Him and Giannis are close. He'll probably recruit him to come to the ATL with him.

We aren't drafting Obi. For several reasons I'll rather not go into. He will either go #5 or #7, #8.
We aren't trading for LaVine.
If it's not LaVine, I literally have ZERO clue who we'd be targeting in a mega trade lol. Guess I'll be shocked if and when it happens. Hopefully in a good way.

I haven't seen or heard anything regarding Brandon Ingram.
Is it just assumed around the NBA that the Pels are going to give him the max?
