  1. On the bright side of the Russ rumor (which is probably not true) a superstar is actually putting ATLANTA on a desired destinations list??? When was the last time that ever happened?

Hawks will have capspace next offseason. It makes more sense to wait until then and make an offer to him, then to trade an asset like the #6 pick, and potentially lose him a year later.

I get that. But I'm guessing our trade for him is contingent on him signing an extension. I'd assume this would be the case for other teams who trade for him as well. He might not be available next offseason.

In fact, I'd rather just wait until he becomes a free agent next year to offer him a contract.

Seems like he's getting traded. Whoever trades for him probably extends him, I think? IF Travis is convinced he's the guy, we probably have to trade for him to get him. IMO.

Culver shot under 30% from 3 & 46.2% from the FT line. Not many wings let alone good wings in the nba struggle that bad from the line. For a guy that had shot concerns coming in....his value isn’t close to the 6th pick.

Exactly. I'd stay away from this if I was Travis.

  5. The Minny rumor is weird to me. I'd be losing my mind if we were offering up Hunter or Reddish in trade packages to move up into the top 5. And they're offering him for 6? These 3 guys were pretty much in the same tier going into last year's draft.

Just got off of a call with my guy. He doesn't have any new findings but has said a lot of fake interest or disinterest in the pick is out there right now and it's hilarious. He said Charlotte is more likely to move back than up in this draft. There isn't a lot of hype for moving up as much as they would like. That could change but things look bleak.

Supes, who is "they" in this sentence? Does that mean not many teams are interested in moving up into the top 3? Maybe the price could start to go down?

For context, I really want Ant, but don't want to lose Hu3rter.

They been looking all over for a PG. The issue they are having is everyone who has one doesn't want to get rid of one. Dennis Schröder who is available is no different than Bledsoe. They are seeking an upgrade.

While I am not sure Ball is an upgrade at this stage, getting him does cover them well if Giannis walks. Gotta protect your franchise but you gotta have something to sell to Giannis as well. If Ball has a tremendous rookie year, he might think twice and stay to see how this plays out.

Big risk - Ball could have a huge year, but more often than not, rookies aren't great. That's a HUGE gamble in a contract year with the best player in the league. Go big or go home I guess.

Orlando is another team with Indy that's considering trading up. They can easily do it with Bamba but I've been told they do not want to move Mo. There interesting in trading Fultz who does have some open market interest. Once again, Hayes and Haliburton are the targets. A lot of teams like Kira Lewis Jr. but he's getting a lot of bottom lottery love. It's just the teams who want playmakers are looking at Hali, Melo, and Killian the most.

Killian is getting a lot of love from Atlanta compared to Hali. If Atlanta takes a PG, it will be Hayes in my opinion at #6 if they stay.

Love hearing this! I feel Killian has more potential & upside than Hali. If we're coming out of this draft with either Killian or Ant, I'm pumped!

You're prediction makes the most sense. I find logic and reason are often better predictors of what will happen than head scratching trade rumors. How many players (of those realistically available, not LeBron, Luka, etc) in the NBA are even worth giving JC up for? I'm drawing a blank personally.

Exactly, completely agree. At some point in these rumors, you have to ask yourself, Does this trade make sense from a basketball perspective? And I can't think of a single realistic trade for JC either that makes basketball sense for the Hawks.

But maybe there is a reason why he is on the block right now, he might want the Max and Hawks (IMO as well) thinks he doesn't deserve a Max Contract maybe it is that.  Like I say yesterday I believe its all rumors right now.

I honestly don't even believe he's on the block. I have a feeling that the Hawks are not the team picking up the phone and dialing to inquire about a trade involving JC. Are they taking calls? Sure, why not? But it'd have to be a Giannis, AD, KAT, Zion, type player imo for them to pull the trigger.

Taking calls on JC does not equal JC is on the block.

  12. From a basketball standpoint, it makes 0 sense to me for us to turn John Collins into Ben Simmons. Like none. Trae is ball dominant. Simmons spent 93% of his time at Point Guard last season. Where are you putting Ben when Trae is iso-ing top of the key? You bringing him up to pick and roll? JC already does that better and can actually step back and hit a 3 point shot. We're going to roll with Cap and Ben late in a game when neither can shoot a FT?

I'm not buying this at all. But maybe I just don't watch enough 76ers basketball and am missing something. Flame away if I am lol

    You're missing the blockbuster trade.

Where are y'all seeing this blockbuster trade and Collins being moved as part of it? Supes said -

    "Indy

Indy has been in talks with Atlanta and a 3rd team. This is a massive deal that has been in talks now for months, I even think I mentioned it on here before. Basically, the Atlanta part of the deal is done but the 3rd team is still far away from where they need to be for Indy. The only players I can say are in this deal is Oladipo to the 3rd team and Dedmon to one of the teams. This would be a major deal for all team involved. Indy is NOT rebuilding; they are simply retooling. They want to be a contender in the east like we want to be. They will be tight on offseason spending. Justin Holiday might be on the way out due to salary. Justin is getting a lot of interest from contenders for a mid MLE level player."

  14. So our potential depth chart next season based on these rumors could be:

Trae / Mystery PG / Goodwin
    Cam / Ant / FA
    Hayward / Hunter / FA
Collins / Jones Jr. / FA
    Capela / Bruno / Skal

    Am I missing anyone??

GS has to drop salary as well. It wouldn't be 2 for 6 and Huerter.

They are looking for someone to take their salary as well. It is more complicated than the guy on Reddit is stating.  GS leaking they are interested in Oubre today is meant to apply pressure to the teams they are negotiating with...us included.

    i.e. Wiggins?

IF they're insisting on moving Wiggins as part of any deal I can definitely see how that complicates things. Good luck to them moving that contract.

OKC 1st works to move up to #4, or #5, not 1-3. You need a heavy hitter aka Kev.

Appreciate the info as always @NBASupes! If that's the case, the price is too high for me. Although as a UGA homer, I'd love to see Ant in a Hawks jersey. Just not at the price of Hu3rter or Hunter. If somehow the draft fell Ball, Deni, Wiseman - I'm pulling the trigger on the OKC first to move up to #4.

Looking forward to the FA update later!
