  1. I'm still trying to come up with an idea for a Capela like trade. We traded Evan Turner's expiring contract and #16 via Brooklyn for Clint.
  2. Summary of his Predictions: Capela - Prediction: He stays, but ultimately, I won’t be surprised if he’s traded. Collins - Prediction: Does not return. Hunter - Prediction: Does not return, but I won’t be at all surprised if he’s back.C Rest of Gone - Gallo, Lou, Dieng, TLC, Knox Keep: Trae, Huerter, Bogi, Okongwu, Johnson, Wright Headscratching stuff!!!
  3. No injury excuses were allowed for the Hawks, so stop. It certainly was curious that Paul went from playing so well in the first two games to struggling. A team source told Andscape that the Suns’ hope was two days off between Games 6 and 7 would help him, but it didn’t. Andscape also learned that Paul actually has been dealing with a left quad injury, and he limped badly favoring his left leg after departing from his news conference. And before greeting his wife, parents and other friends, Paul briefly talked to a trainer outside the Suns’ locker room while holding his left quad. When asked if he could talk about his quad injury, Paul said: “Nope. Nah. I'm good.” – via Marc J. Spears @ Andscape
  4. Sooo....Patrick Beverly!!! Is he just auditioning for his post playing career with his takes? .......but for a guy that has done nothing in his NBA career that deserves any mention, he talks a lot for no good reason. (And I'm no CP3 fan)
  5. Maybe a better defensive scheme would help.
  6. ...and then you look at the Guard/wings that are around these centers that handle the scoring load. They have multiple guys, we had one.
  7. I'm looking at the remaining centers in the final 4: Al, Bam, Powell and Green....I'm good with not overpaying the center position.
  8. After 2 season of injuries to Hawks players....I'm leery of siging and/or trading for guys with their own injury histories. Lavine, Lonzo Ball, Dipo
  9. Is there another Kris Dunn, Bruno and a 2nd for Delon Wright type trade for the Hawks for the bench?
  10. It behooves the Nets to at least get him back on the floor to increase his trade value.
  11. Bobby Portis to command $12-$13 million contract this summer? It means Bobby Portis and Connaughton will be able to shop their services on the open market, with the Bucks being able to match any offer extended to them. Whether the Bucks will match any offers thrown their way, though, is the big question. Portis was clearly underpaid this season and will receive a hefty raise. Connaughton is also in line for a pay bump. Portis’s salary this season is a paltry $4.37 million — a real bargain for the Bucks. The forward-center started 59 games (he played in 72) while averaging 14.6 points and 9.1 rebounds. “He’s going to get, I believe, a contract for about $12 million, maybe $13 million a year,’’ an NBA executive said of Portis. “Now, whether that’s for three years or four years, I don’t know.’’ Another NBA official concurred. – via Woelfel's Press Box Top Rumors, Free Agency, Bobby Portis, Milwaukee Bucks “There has been talk he’ll get that amount ($12-13M),’’ the official said. “I think when he (Portis) signed last summer and took a low salary, they had a verbal agreement in place that he (Portis) would get lot more money and more than two years on his next contract.’’ While those officials agreed on Portis’ projected annual salary, another NBA official contends that figure may be low. “We have him rated as a higher-priced player,’’ he said, referring to his team. “We have him as a $15 million (a year) player.’’ – via Woelfel's Press Box
  12. According to NBA sources, Knox, the Knicks’ 2018 lottery pick, could return to Atlanta, but may have to sign a minimum-contract deal. 2 days ago – via Marc Berman @ New York Post
  13. Ben Simmons committed to summer plan with Nets Ben Simmons and his camp will sit down with the Nets and hammer out a plan for the ensuing months, one intended to put him on the best path to both physical and mental health and a successful return to the court. “We will work together with the Nets on a summer plan,” a source close to Simmons told The Post. “Everyone is confident.” The Nets want the rehabbing Simmons to be in Brooklyn as much as possible, putting Philadelphia as far in the review mirror as he can. – via Brian Lewis @ New York Post
  14. Cooper is a RFA, with a QO of $1.5 mil.
  15. Where did I say 'replace' and sitting Gallo? I've maintained that Nate should have found 'some' spot minutes for him over the course of the season.
  16. The only way he returns is if we release him for the $5 and we resign him. The question is how much are you willing to sign him for? (And if he wants to be back) If Gallo's role remains strictly off the bench, sure....but we've had to rely on him for too many starter minutes at PF and even Center. Unfortunately Gallo wasn't good at shooting in the playoffs - 26.7% from 3. That's why it's unfortunate we didn't see what JJ could give us.
  17. That leaves Trae, Hunter, JJ, Bogi and Gallo to come.
  18. If I read the CBA right....We can take back a player with up to an $11 mil contract for Gallo. Here's an example: Derrick Favors $10.1 mil for Gallo, OKC has capspace to take on Gallo's $21 million. No, once traded, and waived Gallo can't resign with Hawks for at least 1 year.
  19. Do you think that will get away with the same antics he does for Boston if he's playing for the Hawks....NOPE!
