  1. I'm moving my Gallo trade idea here from #16 pick thread: OKC trades Favors ($10.1), Muscala($3.5), Dort ($1.9) and Kenrich Williams($2) for Gallo (Hawks guarantee his $21.4 mil salary), 2022 Atlanta 1st #16, Charlotte 2023 Protected 1st (if needed and if the Hawks can work out extensions with both Dort and Williams). Hawks save $3.9 million Trade occurs prior to the draft. New Roster: PG: Young (36.6), Wright, Cooper SG: Huerter(14.5) Bogi (18), Dort SF: Hunter (9.8), Williams PF: Collins (23.5), Johnson (2.7), Favors C - Capela (19.7), Okongwu (6.3), Muscala (T.O.) Follow up trade for Ayton - Capela, Favors, Muscala 2 future 1sts.. I haven't worked out all the money minutiae but I think I'm close.
  2. ...and here's the thing with those comparisons. Comparing year 4 Trae with these guy's overall career....why not do a year 4 of Stockton and Nash comparison?
  3. I agree that this would be more the discussion point. Trae would have more than likely ended up at #6 to Orlando. So not in the top 5 pick discussion.
  4. He was on the trade block before they gave him his early extension. I don't think anyone expected him to make the leap this year and make the ASG. He was a 15ppg/5apg the previous year. Yes, he is their best player, but is he a guy to build around or just build WITH. Spurs are in that in between stage and what they do will depend on how much longer Pop will stick around.
  5. The NBA has closed that loophole. Bulls won't be able to trade for Gallo and get the savings to release him at $5 mil. If we are trading Gallo with only his $5 mil guarantee, we can only use $8.8 mil as his outgoing salary. It's looking more likely that Gallo's $21 mil should be guaranteed to effectively use in trades.
  6. If you are over the LT, it hard caps how much you can be over the tax in a SnT deal (I never looked into the amount though). Supes is correct
  7. I didn't reorganize for depth. Our guaranteed contracts are listed first is all.
  8. He was on the trade block the last 2 seasons. Spurs were deciding which of him or Derrick White to trade at the start of this season, they ended up moving White at the trade deadline. I wanted Murray last offseason when his value was low but now he went out and made the ASG...bummer.
  9. I'm circling back to this. The most OKC can offer Dort on an extension this offseason is 4yr/$56 million, otherwise he can become an URFA next offseason and ANY team can sign him outright using their capspace. Word is OKC may prefer to go into the 2023 season with only Shai on a long term contract, so they may not extend Dort this offseason. So I'm expanding the deal: OKC trades Favors ($10.1), Muscala($3.5), Dort ($1.9) and Kenrich Williams($2) for Gallo (Hawks guarantee his $21.4 mil salary), 2022 Atlanta 1st #16, Charlotte 2023 Protected 1st (if needed and if the Hawks can work out extensions with both Dort and Williams). Hawks save $3.9 million Trade occurs prior to the draft. New Roster: PG: Young (36.6), Wright, Cooper SG: Huerter(14.5) Bogi (18), Dort SF: Hunter (9.8), Williams PF: Collins (23.5), Johnson (2.7), Favors C - Capela (19.7), Okongwu (6.3), Muscala Trade would occur prior to the draft which means we can still trade any of the newly acquired players as long as they are traded separately. They cannot be aggregated for 30 days (I think).
  10. This is my issue with a lot of these yammering heads....the information is easy to find. They get a narrative stuck in their heads and despite facts to the contrary refuse to admit it and keep repeating the same tired lines.
  11. Here is what caught my eye: More specifically, the Celtics with a healthy frontcourt are doing the job. With a healthy Capela and JC we would have been at least more competitive than we were vs Miami. Just more realistic options. Because of the threat Williams poses as a lob-catcher and putback merchant, Miami can't comfortably stash a wing on him to free Bam Adebayo, the team's Defensive Player of the Year candidate, to defend either of the Jays. But because of Horford's ability to get busy on the block, wings aren't really safe on him either. PJ Tucker is the lone player aside from Adebayo who can defend bigs or forwards with the same confidence, if not effectiveness, altogether
  12. Trae has gone beyond living rent free, he done bought the Condo ....Trae really ripped their souls out.
  13. Voted Other: Dejounte Murray - takes care of ballhandling (9.2 apg), scoring (21 ppg), perimter defense (2 spg), rebounding at wing (8.3 rpg).
  14. Speaking of @kg01 boy Sexton: Cavaliers want to retain Collin Sexton Michael Scotto: The Cavaliers want to retain Collin Sexton. He’s going to demand starting guard money, I’m told. There are some teams who will be in the market for a point guard this summer, including the New York Knicks and Washington Wizards, who would have to acquire Sexton in a sign-and-trade if they want to get him. Last season, no restricted free agent signed an offer sheet, and players such as Cavaliers forward Lauri Markkanen switched teams via sign-and-trade. Michael Scotto: One executive told me, “I think Cleveland will extend a qualifying offer to Sexton and look to match an offer. I don’t see him receiving an offer, but I think Cleveland will use Sexton as a trade asset. I expect them to try and sign him to a deal in the $18-20 million annual range so they can eventually trade him.” Chris Fedor: My sources tell me at the end of the Sexton negotiations, the two sides were kicking around Bogdan Bogdanovic money, so around $18 million annually. I get the sense that the Cavs are more comfortable in the range of $15-18 million (annually). I think Collin is looking more in the range of $18-22 million (annually). I do think there’s a gap they need to close this offseason. – via Michael Scotto @ HoopsHype
  15. Like my gut is telling me not to go all-in on a one-way defensive center that so far has not had any the impact in the playoffs as one would expect.
  16. What the Hawks will do is trade and/or resign players up to the Luxury Tax of $149, then use the$10 mil MLE to get to $159. If trades and/or signings force us over the LT, then we have only the Tax payer MLE of $6.1 million.
