Literally nobody is saying this.

Just now, TheNorthCydeRises said:Now that is not to say that I'm completely sold on acquiring Brandon Ingram. But if he is our target, go ahead and get him. And don't let a guy with "potential" stop you from getting him.
After 4 years, I can't do the 'potential' thing. You gotta be, at that point.

Simple answer is Collins has no value with that contract. He was barely able to make outside shots the last year he played with us. Ingram is capable of being a primary focal point of an offense. Utah would trade Collins in a heart beat if they could get a decent return.
Not being an "insider" I can't say for sure, but it's safe to say there are way more teams interested in Brandon Ingram than Collins. What we think individually doesn't matter. The league perceives Collins as a much lower tier player.
You're taking me too literally.
I'm not suggesting they're the same, value-wise.

Yeah, there's no need. Ingram fits better there though, imho.
Here's where I'm confused tho. When we had Collins, and everybody in the known universe knew we needed to trade him, we had to accept a crap offer. Why in the actual F, if we're looking to acquire Ingram, would we need to give value? NOP HAS to trade him. We don't HAVE to acquire him. There are other paths to improvement for us.
As you say, ORL isn't gonna gut their roster for Ingram. Why shld we bother putting a plus offer out there for him? Why bid against ourselves?

Kinda hard to say until we actually know the lottery order.
Not really. It's an illustration that..
(a) duh, that's a major need for ATL and
(b) draft order is inconsequential when the #1 prospect isn't significantly better than the 15 or 17th guy - it's more about fit and need.

Pelicans to circle back with Hawks in trade talks?
Will Guillory: The Pelicans were also having conversations with Atlanta going into the trade deadline about potentially Dejounte Murray and maybe one of their bigs. I think that’s another team to keep an eye on.There's only so much time left in this crazy world ....
So just trade me Herb, so jus' trade me Herb ...
Eggsperts killin Trae, they jus' don't understand (what's tha master plan)

We are in a period of parody in the league, but all the teams being at the same crap level of kick out for 3’s bball.
So ya, few tweaks is more than enough to get us over and we don’t even need to trade Trae for parts to do it!
Waaaaat? You sayin' we could maybe keep the only all-nba level player on the roster, that wants to play here, if we wanna win?
Craaazy!
So ya don't think we shld trade him for oUr PiCkS bAk, then tank for another 7-8 years so we can maybe .... maaaaaybe luck into an all-nba caliber level player that actually wants to play here?
Ya think?
But seriously, we're not far off. Folks watching half these teams stank it up and think we need to rebuild. Really? When the only teams looking decent rn are the ones that actually went for it at the deadline. They're just trying where we (our front office) chose not to.
If we had tried, and got a bit more I jury luck, we'd still be playing. We didn't try, we just hung our best player out to dry.

All these playoffs are teaching me is how easy it would've been to still be playing. A mild upgrade at C plus a bit more health luck and ...
Half these teams are just as flaw as we were.

The same blind man could see Buden being a prime candidate considering his parents are in PHX, iirc.
I think it'd be a mistake tho. That's a toxic roster that a coaching change can't fix, imho.

The (Kn)Fix is In!
Its been a cool 40-sum years since the Knix had a 'chip. But leave it to ol' WackAdam to get them over the top. He couldnt do it for the playoffs. Nah, that would be too obvious.
Let's adjust the rules mid-season then lie about it. No one will suspect a thing, right?
We'll reinstitute fowl-ball just in time for the Knix to thrive. But thats not enough. We'll, simultaneously, allow their starr to get every call. Foul-bait, smoul-bait. Anything goes, as long as it goes for tha Knix.
Dont say I didn't warn you....
I Seen Enough!

@bird_dirt is on the run, evading the attempted murder charge. Also a destruction of property charge for the damage done to my keyboard. I'm seeking restitution.
