  1. If we’re so desperate for first round picks, can we just package up Bey, Hunter and AJ? Between the three I feel like we can get 2 first round picks. i just don’t understand why the FO feels Murray is the only way we get to that outcome.
  2. I was thinking the same. Once upon a time OO was an untouchable. Not anymore.
  3. Instead of being on the phone and negotiating deals for DJ… Landry needs to be telling Snyder that he needs to figure out how to make Trae / DJ / JJ work. Makes no sense to trade your two best players. Put everyone else on the table until you can get a STAR. Otherwise, take DJ off the table.
  4. Here’s my prediction. And I HOPE I am wrong. But it’s our FO so 1. We trade DJ for two firsts and some mid player who is not a star. 2. Trae makes all star this year. He is playing incredible this year. Kudos to him. 3. We make play in and lose. Rumors swirl again that Trae may ask out if we don’t get a star to pair with him. 3. FO goes all in on this idea that we can get KAT or go and find a superstar to play with Trae in the off-season. 4. Because we are the hawks teams lowball when we make offers. We push hard for KAT or another star but some other team swoops in to get him somehow and then Trae asks out eventually. 5. We retool or whatever with Bufkin and Jalen and Snyder at the helm. I don’t want this to happen. But it feels inevitable, given our fortunate. Needless to say, we need to figure it out with Trae / Murray combo.
  5. Love the energy. Kudos to Murray for playing so well with all the trade noise going on. It has to be tough for him to hear all of that and still remain locked in for the team.
  6. When DJ said “don’t ever let anybody punk you” that did it for me. Miami has always punked us because we’ve historically played soft and predictable offensively. This guy has the culture we need to build here and we’re willing to let him walk out the door for peanuts Snyder has GOT to figure out how to make Trae and DJ work. They need to take him off the trade market right now and make Snyder use that basketball savvy intelligence and figure it out. DJ has the mental toughness that we need as a TEAM. He plays better as a natural PG. the team plays better when he leading in that way and we make less mistakes / turnovers. They clearly feed off of his energy which causes the team to lock in more. Guys are involved.. trae can still be our superstar. But he will either need to be open to playing more off ball or doing something else that Snyder needs to figure out. Either way, it makes no sense to trade DJ - right now at least. We simply gave up too much to not try again. it may mean literately putting every other player on the trade market to make it work but (OO, Capela, Hunter, Bey, AJ) should all be on the table. Shoot, maybe even bufkin should be on the table to go find us bigs who can defend around Trae and Murray. I know our FO loves Bufkin and I’ve heard reports that he is an untouchable but we can’t keep everybody if we seriously want to compete right now. seems like it’s too many cooks in the FO office to make a decision on this but they need to be decisive, bold and put the chips in.
  7. So let Bey keep shooting through the slump but AJ can’t play at all through his issues? It has to be something bigger with AJ, I believe.
  8. I like Snyder but I do have some questions about his decision making. I loved what we got from Patty tonight. Why don’t we play him more? He is a sniper shooter and a great vet presence. AJ.. what’s the deal? He has a ton of potential. If it’s something personal - I get it. But why not send him to the g league and get some reps in? and if I recall correctly, one of the reasons Quinn was brought in was to manage big personalities. Can he not do that with Trae and DJ? Clearly something is off when they play together but after tonight it’s clear DJ is excellent when he is playing PG. his natural role. I think it would be a mistake to trade him because the team really seems to rally around him and compete when he leads more. I want to keep Trae if possible. But we would be going further backwards to trade Murray right now. I hope I wake up in the morning and hear that they’ve taken him off the trade block. If Ressler really wants to win - then this is a no brainer. Fix the front court.
  9. Trade AJ (might as well since we won’t play him anyway) , capela and bey. I’d trade Hunter too as long as we get some solid defenders back. I know we like to keep the ball in Trae’s hand but Snyder needs to make it work and convince him that they are better as a TEAM when Murray runs point more.
  10. I am officially on the wagon. What’s the worst that could happen if we keep him? His value could only go up at this point. make Quin make it work and figure it out for now.
  11. If we trade Murray now we will look absolutely clueless at this point. Especially if we pull off this win might as well run it with Trae and DJ until off the off-season and see if we can get a streak going now they already paid to go get Quin Snyder. Now it’s time for him to figure out how to make this thing work with BOTH of them. We’ve paid too much to be on the losing end and lose this man for nothing
  12. Why are we trying to trade Murray again?
  13. Love the effort and competitiveness we’re seeing tonight
  14. Ah ok. ’ll take that then. I just tuned in and saw him brick a three and thought it was business as usual for him
  15. We should play patty more. Proud of his effort tonight. How much worst could it get at this point? He’s a sniper from the 3pt line.
  16. If we can let Matthews stink up the joint then why not at least let AJ play?
  17. It feels like this is our only hope at this point. I hope you are right. Trae needs a big to play next to.
  18. I am wondering the same. And this is NOT what I want because Trae is our superstar and our FO has done a terrible job setting him up for success. BUT if we aren’t going to get much of a return for Murray and Trae asks out anyway due to lack of success and frustration here.. then it might make more sense to move him instead and get pieces to surround Murray. This is not what I want us to do but at this point I have no faith that our FO will get the right pieces around Trae in time. It can’t be easy for him to see teams like the pacers roll the dice on Siakam and pair him with Halliburton and the Knicks make moves to get OG. Everyone else is getting better and we’re sitting here baiting Murray
  19. I’d be open to getting Grant. At this point, I say keep Murray until the off-season when we have more trade options. Get Grant and another defender (flip AJ or Capela). Let’s see what we can do with that squad - maybe we do something in the play-in or maybe we don’t. But hopefully guys can get their value up so we can get a star big next to Trae next off season. this recouping draft picks ain’t it if we’re trying to keep Trae happy.
  20. I’d be down for this. And I’d say hold on to Murray until off-season so we can get a big fish (KAT or another big). If we can at least get better defenders then we can get more out of Murray / Trae pairing for now at least.
  21. I don’t think Murray is our biggest problem. But if we need to trade him to get Trae help - then so be it. But trading him for draft picks is not going to help us win now and it’s certainly not going to help us keep Trae here and happy. I’d love for a trade with the Nets (bring in Claxton and another defender). As much as I’m over the whole Saikam debacle, I’d be okay with rolling the dice on him. I just wouldn’t give up Murray but they can have Hunter and Capela. It’s super frustrating that we don’t seem to draft well.. Hunter was #4 overall pick! He has not lived up to expectations, unfortunately. That is also hurting us badly right now. It’s time to move on from Hunter imo.
  22. The noise is getting louder.
  23. If this is true then it doesn’t sound like he is demanding out. I’d honestly like to keep DJ too and see how it goes keeping him on the floor with JJ and Trae
