Meh. I do not want Wiggins or Klay. I have major concerns about Wiggins and his desire to even play anymore. If he can’t play for Curry and the fans at GS - I don’t know how motivated he’ll be here. Didn’t look up his salary but i feel like he’s overpaid last time I did check. Klay is nice but no thanks. He’s older, doesn’t help us defensively, and he’s also disgruntled on a team with a high standard for success - not sure how inspired he will be here. He also doesn’t seem to be interested in mentoring a young team who has won nothing. we need strong vet players who can defend, shoot, and not allow Trae to be pushed around. Again, Murray is the least of my concerns for this team as long as he continues to attack the basket and play consistent defense. I’d much rather get rid of Clint / Hunter and start OO for now. I hope Landry is on the phone with Brooklyn because they have the defenders we could use imo.

I hope you are right. I’d be much more comfortable keeping DJ and trading Hunter and Clint for whatever we could get.

So from what I’m gathering.. it’s not a rebuild because we don’t have draft assets but in reality, it’s essentially that (in my view at least). If we want to win now with Trae there’s no way going younger makes sense. Even if it’s to roll the dice during the off-season. I feel like Trae would get impatient and almost certainly ask for a trade. Who could blame him? if that’s the risk we’re willing to take, why not trade Trae now and keep Murray since he’s on a better deal? We could get more for Trae than Murray imo. I’m not suggesting we do this at all. I love Trae as our superstar in atlanta. But it makes no sense to lose both Murray AND Trae because we want to “retool” and see what happens. Just my two cents.

Candidly, I haven’t seen it reported anywhere. But we just can’t seem to build the right roster to support him. I can’t imagine he isn’t thinking about how well he could do elsewhere. I do think he likes Snyder as a coach and believes in him so that’s a plus.

I’m not sure how all of this will play out. But if they don’t bring in another star with Trae then I can’t imagine him wanting to stay here beyond this summer. And If he doesn’t make all star I can see that contributing to his frustration too. it’s unfortunate but it is what it is. I really wish we’d just push all of our chips in and go for a star now. It’s not like time is on our side before Trae asks out anyway. The only saving grace may be his relationship with Quin Snyder but we HAVE to make moves soon to show we’re serious.

If Murray goes to the Knicks I will be upset. I could live with and prefer the Nets where we get some defenders and draft picks back from them. If we truly are trying to get younger and play the rookies, that doesn’t necessarily scream win now to me. Hard to think Trae would be onboard with wasting this year but who knows.

Seriously. I’m about to go fold clothes.. and I HATE folding clothes but this is unbearable. If we’re throwing in the towel for this season can we at least give AJ some minutes?

So it sounds like Siakam is potentially out of the picture. But what about Lauri and has youth on his side. We’d still need better perimeter defense though.
