  1. I’d be okay with this trade. I’d be onboard with picking up Claxton in the offseason too.
  2. I agree. I still want Trae to be our superstar. But i am very concerned if we can make changes fast enough before he asks out of Atlanta. It’s the sad but unfortunately reality imo. Who could we actually get that would make us serious contenders given the pieces we have now? We’d have to give up DJ + more to bring in a front court player who can actually move the needle. And we’d still need more than just one player. It would also have to be convincing enough for Trae to want to recommit to Atlanta. Otherwise, we risk losing him in FA in the near future. we should have built around Trae the right way years ago but we didn’t and now we’re stuck and desperate to make it work this off-season and all the teams will know it and won’t do us any favors in the trade market. I wouldn’t be shocked if they considered trading Trae in the off-season and seeing what they can do with DJ and Kobe. We’d get more for Trae than anyone else at this point. This all makes me sad.
  3. I missed most of this game but tuned in around mid 4th quarter. Somehow we didn’t challenge a questionable call I guess my question is, were we at least competitive the entire game?
  4. Is there any other big we could reasonably this off-season? I just don’t see minny letting go of KAT. They are doing and playing great right now. the more I think on this.. logic tells me we may be losing Trae next off-season or at the deadline. I’d hate it but can’t plane the guy to be honest. if this happened, what would that mean for Murray? Would we keep him or would he even want to stay? I know I’m going far down a rabbit hole at this point lol
  5. If we don’t do anything this off-season.. I think there’s reason to be concerned we could lose Trae
  6. What do we really lose by holding on to DJ and waiting until the off season? It doesn’t sound like we would bring in a difference maker significant enough to make a strong playoff push. Unless the person we bring in can help us get to too 6 seed - I’m leaning towards waiting until the off-season to see who else becomes available.
  7. I agree as long as we get a true superstar back. If we can’t do that, we should keep him. I saw DJ give up on a few plays tonight but I still don’t believe we win this game without him tonight.
  8. Love this win. But I’d still like to know why AJ can’t get minutes. Would have loved to see him get some of Matthew’s minutes. If he isn’t going to play and needs to develop the send him to the G league at least.
  9. Love this win for the team. I hope we can fix things with Murray.
  10. Can’t let Curry win with 60 points. Gotta hold strong with the defense
  11. They need to make things work with Trae and Murray. Love what I’m seeing from the team during this last stretch of games
  12. Perhaps . All that said, I think I’d still prefer him to start over Capela. I wouldn’t be shocked if his performance is reflective of a feeling he has of not starting. Has he given up on that prospect? Not saying it should be this way but how are players suppose to be motivated when bad play is constantly rewarded? That would be tough for anyone (again not making excuses) Capela should be benched at this point - imo at least. Bey should be benched. But Quinn says tells him to keep shooting we haven’t seen AJ at all for whatever reason. Forrest is OK but Kobe is balling out in the g league but he’s no where to be found. If we really wanted to complete you’d think we’d be putting our best talent on the floor and coaching them up. Instead it’s just… predictable and rewarding the same minimal effort play and bad performance. Oh and to top it off, we’re trading DJ who has been our most consistent player. so how do we reward great play? We trade them for peanuts. it’s insane. I think I need to take a break from watching the next couple of games. Each time I talk myself through what I see - it gets even more ridiculous.
  13. If we’re so desperate for first round picks, can we just package up Bey, Hunter and AJ? Between the three I feel like we can get 2 first round picks. i just don’t understand why the FO feels Murray is the only way we get to that outcome.
  14. I was thinking the same. Once upon a time OO was an untouchable. Not anymore.
  15. Instead of being on the phone and negotiating deals for DJ… Landry needs to be telling Snyder that he needs to figure out how to make Trae / DJ / JJ work. Makes no sense to trade your two best players. Put everyone else on the table until you can get a STAR. Otherwise, take DJ off the table.
  16. Here’s my prediction. And I HOPE I am wrong. But it’s our FO so 1. We trade DJ for two firsts and some mid player who is not a star. 2. Trae makes all star this year. He is playing incredible this year. Kudos to him. 3. We make play in and lose. Rumors swirl again that Trae may ask out if we don’t get a star to pair with him. 3. FO goes all in on this idea that we can get KAT or go and find a superstar to play with Trae in the off-season. 4. Because we are the hawks teams lowball when we make offers. We push hard for KAT or another star but some other team swoops in to get him somehow and then Trae asks out eventually. 5. We retool or whatever with Bufkin and Jalen and Snyder at the helm. I don’t want this to happen. But it feels inevitable, given our fortunate. Needless to say, we need to figure it out with Trae / Murray combo.
  17. Love the energy. Kudos to Murray for playing so well with all the trade noise going on. It has to be tough for him to hear all of that and still remain locked in for the team.
  18. When DJ said “don’t ever let anybody punk you” that did it for me. Miami has always punked us because we’ve historically played soft and predictable offensively. This guy has the culture we need to build here and we’re willing to let him walk out the door for peanuts Snyder has GOT to figure out how to make Trae and DJ work. They need to take him off the trade market right now and make Snyder use that basketball savvy intelligence and figure it out. DJ has the mental toughness that we need as a TEAM. He plays better as a natural PG. the team plays better when he leading in that way and we make less mistakes / turnovers. They clearly feed off of his energy which causes the team to lock in more. Guys are involved.. trae can still be our superstar. But he will either need to be open to playing more off ball or doing something else that Snyder needs to figure out. Either way, it makes no sense to trade DJ - right now at least. We simply gave up too much to not try again. it may mean literately putting every other player on the trade market to make it work but (OO, Capela, Hunter, Bey, AJ) should all be on the table. Shoot, maybe even bufkin should be on the table to go find us bigs who can defend around Trae and Murray. I know our FO loves Bufkin and I’ve heard reports that he is an untouchable but we can’t keep everybody if we seriously want to compete right now. seems like it’s too many cooks in the FO office to make a decision on this but they need to be decisive, bold and put the chips in.
  19. So let Bey keep shooting through the slump but AJ can’t play at all through his issues? It has to be something bigger with AJ, I believe.
  20. I like Snyder but I do have some questions about his decision making. I loved what we got from Patty tonight. Why don’t we play him more? He is a sniper shooter and a great vet presence. AJ.. what’s the deal? He has a ton of potential. If it’s something personal - I get it. But why not send him to the g league and get some reps in? and if I recall correctly, one of the reasons Quinn was brought in was to manage big personalities. Can he not do that with Trae and DJ? Clearly something is off when they play together but after tonight it’s clear DJ is excellent when he is playing PG. his natural role. I think it would be a mistake to trade him because the team really seems to rally around him and compete when he leads more. I want to keep Trae if possible. But we would be going further backwards to trade Murray right now. I hope I wake up in the morning and hear that they’ve taken him off the trade block. If Ressler really wants to win - then this is a no brainer. Fix the front court.
  21. Trade AJ (might as well since we won’t play him anyway) , capela and bey. I’d trade Hunter too as long as we get some solid defenders back. I know we like to keep the ball in Trae’s hand but Snyder needs to make it work and convince him that they are better as a TEAM when Murray runs point more.
