Compared to the leeway some other players get, it's atrocious.
And it's not even like he's barking at the refs the entire game. As soon as he says something he get T'd up. There's never a lead up to him getting a tech.

The refs hate Hunter.

Mo G with 11 points in the first half in limited minutes for the Skyhawks. Is it too late to call him up for the Knicks game?

A.J. looks so happy. The Gleague especially College Park has a good environment
Agreed. That Skyhawks team is a cohesive unit. I'm impressed by how connected they are on the court on both ends. AJ is clearly benefitting from his time in the G League and looks like he is enjoying the game again. On another note, Vit would be in the NBA right now if he could shoot. He has a unique skillset as a tall PG, but his lack of shooting is really holding him back.

They all miss Trae's gravity and the attention he receives from other teams defenses. There is a reason teams sell out to stop him. Hawks have to make up 29 points from Trae.
Without Trae, every other player has more responsibility, more eyes on them from opposing defenses, so they have to level up. Easy to do for a couple games, harder to do over a lengthier stretch when it doesn't come naturally. It's as expected.
The question was always can the defense be good enough to account for the offensive shortfall?
No. This stretch of games should get the blame off of Trae for the defense. Him shouldering the blame was totally unfair to him and lets the GM and ownership off the hook for not fielding a better team.

Ouch!!!
This is why I said the Hawks can end up out of the Play In by next week. They're going to have to hold on to that 10th spot for dear life now that they're only two games ahead of Brooklyn. They really couldn't afford to lose the last two games.

The Hawks have a VERY thin margin for error. They may be out of the Play In by the end of next week.

These head-to-head matchups versus Chicago and Brooklyn with so much at stake have been pretty disappointing. This stretch of very winnable games has been disappointing overall.

How did AJ look for anyone that watched? I’m eager to see how he and Mo progress.
AJ looked like AJ before Quin took over. He's not forcing a lot and is playing within the offense. Even the announcers stated how he wasn't trying to dominate the ball and get his and how the coach described him as being very coachable. I thought he had a three pointer or two go in despite the box score showing he went 0-3. Maybe his foot was on the line? But he had some really nice finishes inside. The Skyhawks really get after it on defense and they're more fun to watch than I expected. I'm definitely going to tune in for Sunday's game when Mo G gets back.

SMH. I tuned in to see AJ and Mo G. At least AJ is playing, I hope.

I can only see the box score due to Bally's incompetence. I guess Brooklyn didn't get the memo that they are supposed to be tanking.

For some refs, that's fine. For others, I think their natural tendency is to develop a thick skin and call fewer fouls just being contrarian. But yeah, it's pretty obvious some refs feel a certain kind of way about Trae.
With that said, my guess is this thread will turn into a bunch of criticisms against Trae, which imo, is unwarranted.
Pretty much. Everything turns into a "blame Trae" session no matter what the subject is.

Trae got nicked pretty bad against the C’s . He was dribbling one handed for like half the game
Yeah, I thought I remembered him hurting his hand sometime before the All Star break. I'm not sure if it's the same hand or not though. All I know is, he was a completely different player after that game and the games after.

Would love to see AJ getting Hawks minutes before the end of the year. I can't see any reason not to otherwise we'll have no idea what we have for next year.
Does the Gleague want guys like Baze for mentorship or is he really trying to get back into the NBA. I guess the latter but it's hard to imagine him getting back on a nba roster. there are too many guys that can do what he does.
If AJ has his shot back and is in the right space mentally, he needs to be back in the rotation ASAP. I don't even care about his defense since the team is pretty bad on defense all around. The team will need all the offense it can get, and AJ can provide that. Ideally, Kobe and AJ end up soaking up all of the backup PG/SG minutes for the rest of the season.

We will be in the play in. No one 11-15 is going to try. We'd have to really make a huge effort to lose enough to fall down to 11.
But it's also unlikely we make the playoffs. So we can just compete and let the chips fall. 80% chance we're in the lottery anyway.
The Hawks have 2 games coming up against Brooklyn. The margin for error will be really small if the Hawks lose those games.

Regressing back to old bad habits on defense. Get Bruno and maybe even Kobe back in there.

It doesn't look like Quin and DJ have an issue. Maybe whatever rift they had was resolved behind closed doors.

PLEASE give Kobe more minutes Quin. This kid has IT.

Bruno's defensive activity is infectious.
He's doing a good job on switches. BTW, Kobe makes play after play on defense. He's impacting the game without scoring.
