  2. Here is the thing I think we as Hawk fans forget due to our lack of quality pg play for years. When other teams draft rookies, its not like they start the first game of the season and are bonified quality players from the get green. PGs like Rondo, Jennings, Law, Holiday, etc all the new class of pgs so to speak, are allow to play and play and play thru mistakes as part of the learning curve. You learn what not to do by playing through these mistakes seeing how it affects the team win/loss ratio learning along the way. If you pull a point guard only a few mins in, or after a mistake then you run the risk of never getting over that hump. Where I think Acie had a bigger curve to get over, I think teague mos def has the skillset to be like these other up and coming pgs. Because we werent in San Antonio(Parker), Dallas(Roddy B) N.o.(Collinson) etc to see their mistakes and progress, its easier to admire the highlights of a more refined product. I say give Teague much playing time and let him and Bibby sort out the mistakes and see what he can do.
  3. Is Damp a FA this year? Thought it was only haywood this year. And I doubt Haywood would go for coming off the bench. Wasnt that the prob in DC?
  4. Same thing is what I find intriguing about Mikhail Torrance, 6-5, G, Alabama I wonder which has the better outlook. Even though I prefer to walk away with two bigs (1 center/1 PF) I have a feeling we will be drafting a JJ or crawford clone.
  5. Does anyone even know what figure Chillz is looking for?
  6. I know I know... thats why I say the trade that includes peja would be more realistic. They are trying to clear cap space and this is a way to get a decent player back, and with ZaZa included they add help to the front court too. Add the #24 and they move down in the draft to pick a player that would demand a lower payscale. Just saying, over the last few years we have to admit that there has been some draft day trades that before they were executed, nobody would have ever thought that the teams would have accepted it. Does anyone else think that Whiteside is a great fit for the hawks?
  7. Now that we have the coaching situation resolved, and a new outlook on play calling, wouldnt the perfect draft choice be Hassan Whiteside??? A defensive center who can hit a mid-range/ outside shot and could possibly be set up for pick and pop/roll plays? With the playbook opening up again a center that could bring these skills to the table seems like a godsend. I would honestly prefer Greg Monroe as the perfect perfect candidate but there is no way we could move up that high. With that being said.... which team would be more likely to make a draft day trade... N.O. trades the #11 pick (high enough for us to beat out teams like the raptors, rockets, or twolves who are in need of a big man) for Mo Evans. I know they are trying to clear cap space, but because of Peja's trade kicker, I cant match salaries. So maybe the #11 and Peja, for Mo and ZaZa. Giving us a line up of Bibby/Teague or Teague/Bibby J.J./ Crawford Chillz(Hopefully)/Marvin/ Peja Smith/F.A/Draft Pick Horford/ Whiteside/Draft Pick or Memphis trades us the #12 for Mo Evans(giving them cap room to resign Randolph/Gasol and a player in the two positions they need g/sf) or a deal structured similar to the one I proposed for the hornets. I usually dont propose trade ideas but just wanted to see what the thoughts were on A) moving up in the draft to get a player we def need. B) If others thought he would be worth the gamble out of the big men in a reasonable draft range. With the N.O. Peja trade, that would clear up space for the Horfod/Chillz resigning scenario. I would prefer to try to keep the #24 but if we have to include it so be it. Just figured that if we could walk away from this draft by clearing some cap space, and walking away with a center @ 11/12 range and another servicable PF, bring Chillz over... wipe hands, pat yourself on the back.... job well done Sund. Finally a COMPLETE line up. Thoughts...
  8. I would love for this trade to go down. This is the most sensible trade offer involving the hawks right now. It helps both teams out. I think the risk is equal on both sides as far as will Harrington sign with Den/How's Nene's health & will he resign. Contraire to popular believe... Miller seems to be the odd man out. They seem like like both the earls over keeping him(contract-wise). I think that if the deal was to go down.. including delk would have to be a sure thing, so that they would have that extra cap space to resign Harrington or go after whoever they might be interested in FA
  9. I would rather come up with a trade moving Al than Josh. It helps the bucks make a push for the playoffs this year, and they may resign him if their need is that high. A rotation with Harrington,Simmons, and Redd would be sick. I have no problem with taking on Gadzuricks contract as I see him as the same type of player as Dalembert and still has room to improve. Grab Gadz and move Zaza to the 4 and now you have some size
  10. Like I said in a different post...firing Woodson and hire who??? Calling for his head will get us nothing but another mediocre name in the ever-revolving coaching carrosel that is the NBA. Let him and his staff develope... gell with the players and next year if we start 0-8.. then start the website
  11. I think the major thing with these trades and deals that everyone is proposing is we are always looking for trades where we get the prime people back in return for who we don't want (which I am all for). But I think we can make nice moves by just being a player in some of these other trades. Sort of like what the Jazz/grizzlies where in the Miami trade. I would be happy just to get in and make what would just be a decent trade, into a nice one. BK JUST BECOME A PLAYER PLEASE!!!!!
  12. I think if we trade Chill for a PG ...Luther Head would be perfect. He has the range and the ball handling skills to do it. If a multi team trade developes where we can get rid of Chill and Al(although we need his leadership)in return for a PF/C and PG I'm all for it. Otherwise... I say we wait it out. See if the pressure of trade talks sink in with Chill, he breaks out of his slump and we continue to build through the draft.
