  1. more after these messages: http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2010/07/08/the-balance-of-power-shifts/?ls=iref:nbahpt1
  2. This should give Sund and ASG some leverage on not offering Shaq anything more than the MLE. Come on.. Us vs. S.A.?? I would choose us ;) (Coaching a side that is)
  3. I would much rather aim for Fisher. I am a Laker Hater so I don't watch many of their games but I think he would bring that vet savvyness needed to help mentor Teague, but can defend better than Bibby I would assume. If we decide to go the younger route, I would assume Critt would be a better option than Livingston wouldnt you think?
  4. Even though the Hawks summer league has not started, I wanted to know how many people here have seen any of the summer league games? It seems as if the games I have seen have been the same three teams in OKC,PHI, and BOS. We are 4 days away from our first Summer League games and we don't know what that roster will consist of outside of Teague,Crawford, and Pape. 1. Has anyone seen any summer league action, and if so.. who has impressed you? 2.With the Hawks getting ready to max out our cap space(hopefully on Shaq) and 1 or two vet min contracts, does anyone feel like we will make solid additions from our summer league roster? For me, I am currently impressed, as I am sure a lot of people are with Sam Presti and the masterful job he has done in OKC. Mullins will be a great rotation of young big men like Ibaka, and Latavious Williams. You add Aldrige to the mix, and thats a pretty good scouting job.
  5. Man, that PG crop is even weaker than normal. Outside of Fisher, Farmar, Felton, and J Will, I will gladly ride the wheel :) off Bibby. The center crop seems like it makes it essential to land Shaq. Big Z, Anthony to a lesser extent, and mahinmi and Tolliver to an even lesser extent(still feel they are an upgrade over Morris/Collins)
  6. The only players who have verbal commited to teams outside of the names we knew werent coming here(Wade, Bosh, Amare, Boozer) that have commited is Outlaw, and Duhon. Was that who you wanted? Not really sure what the rush is since everyone knows that we are all in a holding pattern until ummmm about 9pm.
  7. Miami, Orlando,Atlanta,=Crazy good squads Charlotte=Odd man out Washington= Enigma The NBA's Southeast and Southwest Divisions would be the best in the league.
  8. I have always been a kirilenko fan, and have always wondered what a line of having him and Smith playing would do to opposing front courts, but I think he is a little broken down now. I didnt follow him much last year, so I will bite my tongue on saying he is better than Marvin. Same goes with J. Howard, expect I am not even a fan of his. I would however add S Jax to that list. I think he does a lot of the same things Marvin does ...BETTER. I would take Iguodala over Marvin any day. Isn't as big a defender as Marvin is, but is more athletic and rebounds at a very high rate. Outside of those two names, the super stars listed above, and maybe even Chillz in the mix I don't think there are more all-around better playersat the position than Marvin. Wow this is kinda eye opening. I looked at a list and most of the players might just be a bigger name draw that Williams, but can I say they are better at this stage in comparing careers, no. Now, can I say that there are some names that I think would be a better fit for what we need at the moment, yes.... Odom,Artest, Ariza, Miller, Barnes, I mean you can even throw out Butler in that regard etc.. Yes http://www.realgm.com/src_playerrankings.php?season=2009-2010&filter=sf&highlight=
  9. To his credit... I would say that Sund has pull two out his *ss since being here. It will be very interested to see how things develop. I have been on the fence with Sund, grading his tenure with the Hawks versus his previous ones. I know he has the ASG as a major factor in any decision that he makes($$$), but Sund=Sound for now. We have a solid core, some great assets and are only a couple of pieces away from having our first COMPLETE team(1-5) in what seems like 10yrs. I think with that being said we put out a very competitive product on the floor which is more than what we can say at the start of the building of this roster we currently have. Bring in Shaq. Try to upgrade our pg options, and patch up the SF and we are very impressive squad. Shhhhh Don't let ESPN find out....
  10. I totally agree with you on this. A free agent Shaq is way better than option than a trade for Shaq unless we are really talking a spare piece like Evans. Anything more than that or a future 2nd I hope they wouldnt pull that trigger. I would like to see Evans moved with multiple pieces for a star or upgrade of a player or just let that money come off of our books next summer than trade for Shaq.
  11. I was like WTF...lol Those were the days...
  12. +1 This also seems like a more realistic move as well. I would love to see Paul here but like most trade scenerios its just a dream and will never happen.
  13. Amare... Is a better offensive threat but on the defensive end <Josh Bosh> True PF.. yes > Josh Boozer= Josh IMO Duncan??? He's on the decline so are we talking about the Duncan of 5+yrs ago or the one from the past two years? Also is one of the best PF of all time.. hard to hold a measuring stick to that. Gasol.. yeah yeah 7 footer > Josh Dirk> Josh offensively but once again... on the defensive end..leaves a lot to want for. Aldridge <Josh Zack=Josh.... headcases Point is... Josh is one of those rare players that can literally give you 20pg, 5+rebs, 2+ Steals, 2 Blocks,4+ Asst. With that being said, you find very few players, PF/SF that can give you that kind of production on both ends of the floor on a nightly basis. Comparing someone like Stoudamire who has the ball fed to him from a HOF pg, and is a offensive focal point is like apples and oranges at this point.
  14. If I remember correctly, isn't Shaq only is interested in playing for REAL coaches? Doc>LD
  15. Is there enough ball for JJ, Crawford, and an Ellis? When I first heard of the interest/talks with optimistic. The more time pass I begin to think it's just one of those random rumors that will never come to pass. The more I think about it, most cases, the trades that go down, even blockbuster trades, are genuinely kept close to the vest until they are signed on.
  16. They are selling Joe on the point that he will play with a top ten PF/C in both Horford and Smith, and that he could not find that anywhere else. So no, doesnt seem like at this point that Smith will be traded. That is going to be our core going forward
  17. Part of the ASG selling point to JJ was that he would be playing with top tier PF/C in Horford/Smith. That he couldnt go to another team this summer that had a top 10 center+ pf. So the plan is to have those three as the cornerstone and add another huge piece is what I have gathered over the last couple of days. With all the excitement and hoopla with possible trades going down, fans have been putting smoove in a lot of trade scenerios. I think they forget that that is what they are selling Joe on, using other pieces we have to plug up holes. Would I trade Smith for a Melo or CP3?? In a heart beat. Is that most likely the move that the ASG is planning ...highly unlikely considering those facts.
  18. Why wouldnt you want Teague to start again?
  19. curtmcgirt=pape sy???? Trying to secure more playing time are we?
  20. Ditto. If this happened then ASG have answered my request from the previous 4 seasons. I have always thought that Biendrins is a perfect match for our whole at the 5 spot. If this is the case, could we then sign Felton as well? I am not sure how much cap space we would save with this move but if we can get a pg in FA that would be a great move. Guess this means that Chill stays.
  21. Best news all day. If this is nothing more than white noise I will be so disappointed. I really dont remember an offseason since the Dampier/Martin/Curry summer that had more action for hawks fans
  22. Sheldon got robbed in the west end rmbr....
  23. After what happened to Sheldon Williams no wonder why he floored it. I would too. And dont think that Rudy Gay doesnt do the same in Memphis.
  24. Any team with a quality PG and C are potentially better than us. Nothing else matters Drafting Gallon,Hobson,Jordan, and Sanders could potentially become one of the best front courts drafted specially from this year. Which solid front court depth > than the hawks anyway. Although I will give them kudos for their draft... Gooden=Jokes and jokes and jokes maggette= Spaghetti spaghetti
