  1. The last two games nobody showed up but josh. The hawks need a full team effort to win.
  2. i understand that he plays a lot but why is it that when he leaves the game the warriors instantly get better defensively. Ellis is the central reason why golden state struggles. They have plenty of talent to compete but they have a player that doesn't care about winning as a team.
  3. When i was saying ellis is the worst defender in the league i wasn't just throwing that out there. He really IS THE WORST DEFENDER IN THE LEAGUE. the warriors defense would be better with only 4 players on the court than having ellis out there getting in the way. the thought of this trade is disturbing. 1st you trade a big for a small on a team that lacks bigs. 2nd you trade a shot blocker/ changer for a terrible defender (he is worse than bibby). 3rd the move doesn't fix any of the hawks problems. i.e. perimeter defense a center a point guard (ellis is a pg in the same way a.i. was a pg, with even less thought of passing the ball). 4th what happens to the lineup. we starting collins now? powell? is marvin moving to 4 while we run a 3 guard offense. 5th what if bibby and ellis end up on the floor at the same time. you would see less penetration in a brothel. what if ellis and crawford end up on the court at the same time. you'd see more passing in a game of one on one.
  4. Monta Ellis is the worst defensive player in the league. He by himself turns a decent warriors defense into the leagues worse defense. You want to trade our only defensive presence for a guy that plays no defense. That's subtraction by subtraction and subtraction by addition. The warriors are praying that we do this deal. That deal would put them in the playoffs next year if not this year. This deal turns us into the wizards with arenas butler and jamison. Yeah we'd score but we damn sure wouldn't stop anybody from scoring. How does this help us in any way. I'm not sure i do marvin for ellis. That how much of a liability he is on defense. I'd rather have someone that does nothing well than have someone that does something so important worse than anybody in the history of basketball. Okay maybe that's going overboard slightly but i think i made my point.
  5. very unfortunate. i really hate guns. usta love them, but they kill people. again very unfortunate.
  6. it would be a four team trade where 2 teams give two picks and 1 team gives 1 pick, plus a young player and an expiring contract. they are not going to get that though. they may get 3 picks. maybe. teams are just going to wait till the trade deadline. unless somebody gets stupid, and with the looming lockout i doubt anybody gets too stupid.
  7. I'm moving in a few days, and i'm probably not going to have cable for a few weeks, but i will have internet access. does anyone know where i can watch the hawks online until i get cable. or will i have to be at a bar every other night.
  8. without reading every comment (it's late and i'm sleepy) i'll say this. sometimes i don't understand how the hawks win games. our pg's don't get assist, our sg's are shooting terribly, our sf's are usually non existent, our pf's play like sf's, and our c is a pf. we should be a below .500 team. so why are we successful? it's because we play good defense (not great), we have good passers (not great), and we have good chemistry (not great). but most of all, we play at a slow tempo. we slow the game down. we make teams play defense the entire shot clock. sometimes i think we bore teams to death. even with our motion offense we still keep the ball in 1 players' hands for a long time. honestly i don't even know if we are still running a motion offense. i think we are just passing the ball better. usually when we lose it's because the other team was making shots at a good clip. that's what u have to do to beat us, because you're not going to get a lot of shots. we have some of the least efficient good offensive players in the league, but we still somehow run an efficient offense. we just play well as a team. of course we need to make some changes, if we had tony parker we'd be a much better team, maybe challenging for a championship. but, as we are, we are good (not great). the spurs have 3 very good players, we have 3 good players. that's the difference. to match the spurs we need 2 more good players without losing one of our good players. or at least the addition of 1 great player. as is, the hawks are what we think they are. good (not great). go hawks.
  9. won a game we were supposed to win. GS kept it kind of close but the end result was never really in doubt. they don't play defense, and monte looked like he was still recovering from a hangover. trust me i know it when i see it.
  10. crawford isn't a wasted pick. he's just not on the Kings. he's on an established team, he's not going to get a lot of playing time. he can shoot, i give him that, but there's more to being in the nba. he reminds me of salim.
  11. Collins is what he is. he's not a great player, but he knows that. he does what he can on the court. he doesn't hurt the team at all. and with the current construction of the hawks. he should start. he should play 20-25 minutes a game on this team. he's a big that doesn't need the ball on a team that lacks size, and has plenty of players that are willing to take shots. i could see if he was on the bobcats. as below average as he is, collins has value on THIS team.

    BOSSSSS!

al's a beast. the offense should run through him a lot more. the offense should be centered around al and josh. give them the ball and let them go to work. al has developed a good one on one game, and josh finds open teamates from the post as well as any big man in the league. quietly there's a shift going on with the hawks offense. this team has been dominated by the guards for the past 5-6 years, but now our bigs are making their presence felt on a consistant basis. the guards need to take a step back and just make open shots.
  13. i just think collins should get more playing time. he's nothing special, but he is a center, he knows how to play the position. we win when he starts. marvin's not some ultimate game changer so who cares if he comes off the bench. he plays well with the 2nd unit anyway. he's more aggressive because most of the time he's the 2nd option. whether marvin starts or not doesn't matter, but having al play pf does. we should maximize what we have.
  14. the hawks are a good defensive team. we just don't rebound exceptionally well
