Mock Draft, Take 2: Projecting picks 1-29

By Sean Deveney -

"21. Atlanta

The pick: PG Marcus Moore. He measured in at 6-5 in Chicago, which makes him a good option next to undersized guard Jason Terry. He can push it and score."

NBA mock draft version 1.0 (6-9-03)

By Frank Burlison

"21 Atlanta Hawks Jarvis Hayes SG/SF 6-6 1/2, 220 Georgia

This could easily be slotted into the "safe pick" category."

2003 NBA Mock Draft

By Tony Mejia

"21. Atlanta Hawks (from Indiana): Boris Diaw-Riffiod, F/G, Pau-Orthez (France). The 6-9 Frenchmen has a lot of athleticism, sees the floor well and could develop into a defensive stopper. Those are three strong ingredients for a team that needs plenty of help. He's an unknown commodity, but at this pick, the Hawks have no choice but to shoot for the moon."

Personally I'd like to see us take a foreigner (unless there is still a really good college player left like Jarvis Hayes) in the 1st round. And for our pick(s) in the 2nd round I'd like to see us draft somebody like Rick Rickert, whose stock has seemed to slip as of late, but I think still has a load of potential. I remember not to long ago he was projected as a top 5 pick in the 2004 draft.
