  1. Acie is a good PG that can break defenses down. But no way he can replace Bibby. Mike is a big shot maker, he plays the pg position very smart and no way can Acie replace those big 3's Bibby makes
  2. Just like the old Atlanta saying "who would of thunk it" WOW!!!!!!!! This is playoff basketball baby. It never crossed my mind that our team can be ready for this challenge....the almighty Celtics, best record in the league 66-16 has just come acrossed a young and hungry Atlanta team with the worst record of the playoffs team. Who would thunk it .........heck not even DIESEL would of come up with anything close to this. We want this bad, we want this just as bad as the celtics do. We want it just as bad as New York Giants wanted it....when no one gave them a chance in he11. Series tied 2-2....if we lose this series i'll be satisfied with what they have accomplished in the 2008 playoffs. I'm down in Miami and I cant go to any Hawks game only purchase NBA league pass and watch the games through there. I been a Hawks fan since 86. I want to start a new motto for these Hawks. "Give them Hell" heck even if we lose....Give them hell baby. Anyone going to the game on friday it be awesome if someone will make that poster it be freaking awesome. If anyone does and take a picture and post it here Give them hell
  3. Yes Ginobli is a great player and all......BUT make ginobli the first option and lets see what he can do. He plays with Duncan and Parker which always require more attention becus they have the ball more. JJ is getting doubled in every game, sometimes 3/4 of the game and still look at the numbers he puts up
  4. Thats why J smoove shoots 3's........for all those that said why does he stand behind the 3 point line.......well the OT says it all. Not 1 but 2 3's the boy hit and at a clutch time as well. I admit it he is not a 3 point shooter but this year i have seen him hit a bunch of 3's at clutch moment. Maybe he is just a good shooter at clutch, who knows. Anyways big win by the Hawks. that game remind me of playoff basketball....and the raps are a play off team

I know I know, some of u think make the playoffs and then what........hey this is the NBA you never know
  6. yes Imagine he didnt have that heel pain, I have played with heel pain and it completely slows you down big time, so kudos for him, give him time to be 100% and he is one tough mofo to stop
  7. Ok like i said before Woody should be fired now, but lets say he stays through the end of the season ..... if the hawks dont make the playoffs i dont care how many times he has given billy knight bj's .... but he should be fired
  8. I wish it can be as easy as saying, but is not. how can u 2 teams score on your team 120 points a game. Yes the players are the ones that play but the coach draws the game plans and they have to execute it. Artest is a great player but come on how do u let him look like an allstar and absolutely dominate your team. I mean if u gonna let Artest go wild then freaking contain the others guys And why does it seem that every team shoots great from 3 point land when they play atlanta, oh let me see why, because everyone freaking collapses to the lane when someone drive........thats easy basketball.....drive and pass out for open 3's.......stay with your man. I assume Woody teaches that scheme also. On another note this Jeremy Richardson can flat out shoot the rock. Another things I wanna you guys remember in December when we were making noise around the league and we were 15-12. Ever since we have gone a miserable 6-18 ..... thats not playoff basketball
  9. hey johnny bravo why, because thats 2 smart for woody to do, doesnt JJ like the ball in his hands, well then give it to him and west on chauncey.
  10. HE11 YEA. J Kidd in hotlanta anyday, even with a flu Getting Kidd will automatically puts in the play offs, i know playoffs arent guaranteed but with Kidd here it is. And is true, he has 1 elite scorer to dish off to, and 2 good scorers in Marv and Smoove. I can just see it now Kidd lobs it up to Josh for an easy 2 (monster dunk) Kidd finds Joe in the corner for an easy 3, cha ching
  11. Ok but you said it his BBiq, thats cus he still young, give him another 2 years...and Smoove will have the ability of Joe...he puts more heart into the game than joe does. Joe's problem is like Jack said, when his shot is not falling he completely shuts himself down he gets down on himself and stops trying at 100% . which he should every night in this league Another thing off topic. Sheldon should be in the dog house and Solomon should get those minutes
  12. Now think about it for a minute. Who is the Hawks best player? Joe Johnson or Josh Smith? Yes Joe is still young but has he reached his full potential? I believe he has, what other aspect on his game can he improve, maybe being more assertive and took over in 4th quarter when we need him....thats probably about it NOW Look at Josh Smith, the man averages about 3 points per game less than Joe, which is not much a big difference....he fills up that stat sheet quite nicely ever night. If the not the best definitely one of the best shot blockers in the league. avgs 8 rpg, had a triple double the other night and nearly had one last night. Now the big question is , has Smoove reached his full potential? heck no the man is only 22, still has so much to improve like being smarter, his shot can improve a bit more, because he does have a nice stroke....the skies the limit for josh right now and i think the hawks should offer him multi million dollar contract......best player we have ever drafted hands down. If the Hawks let Josh walk from them, this franchise would be again the laughing stock of the NBA, they have worked so far this year to not be it. And now they are choking, but hey that can be fixed quick by FIRING WOODY !!!!!!!!!!!!!! So who's the Hawks best player?
  13. Whats up peeps.... man i havent posted in like 4ever But here is what I think about the hawks 1. Fire woody, if we had a good coach in atlanta, we would had 20+ wins already 2. Worst pick in Hawks history? guess who- Sheldon Williams the guy plays with no energy, no heart and I would trade him any day over adam keefe. he sucks....with the upper body the man has he should be banging people inside , at least bang people up 3. this road trip coming i think determins our season if we gonna make the playoffs or not, at least get out of it with a .500 record....if they get 1 or 2 wins only it will be another losing season by the hawks and all because the administration likes Woody.
  14. Horford, are u serious? lmao, he is a guaranteed bust the man to pick is JIANLIAN, hands down and hope Conley is there at 11 if not then Crit or Law. Rather have Crit over Law though
  15. I see the Hawks picking jianlian at #3 and take a gamble and wait for 11 to pick conley, if not conley then for sure crittenton or law will be there. As scouts have it, they say conley is the pure PG and he was only a freshman, Crit is 6'5 thats awesome and Law reminds me of another luther head, PG body but SG mentality.

if we get that 3rd pick, it be great ..... 3 and 11 awesome draft
  17. JTFan31

  18. Miami, Florida here, born and raised. Been a Hawks fan since 1985, whats up everyone
  19. Thats why this is a Hawks messageboard to talk about ANYTHING about the Hawks. We talked about Batista because a lot of people here believe that he has a lot of potential and could help this team in many ways
  20. Quote: Point guards looks to steal show By DAN WOIKE The State News Taylor VS Grundy Washington - Midwestern basketball fans probably know who MSU sophomore guard Marcus Taylor is. His emergence as the Spartans’ leader and gaudy numbers make him tough to ignore. Eastern basketball enthusiasts know all about North Carolina State guard Anthony Grundy. Wolfpack fans have seen him lead their team in the three major statistical categories - points, rebounds and assists - and opponents’ fans have seen him terrorize defense after defense. Eastern hoops fans, meet Taylor. Midwest fans, meet Grundy. But when the seventh-seeded Wolfpack (22-10) tangle with the 10th-seeded Spartans (19-11) in first-round action in the NCAA Tournament at 12:15 p.m. today at MCI Center, the two players will introduce their games to the nation. “Everything we’ve done has been kind of regional,” Taylor said. “This is a chance to shine in front of the whole country, and I just want to make the most of it.” Taylor excelled in Big Ten conference play, leading the conference in scoring and assists by averaging 17.7 points and five assists in conference games. Grundy has had the best season of his four-year career for the Wolfpack, helping give N.C. State its first NCAA Tournament berth in 11 years. His 17.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists were team highs and all came while leading the team on the defensive end with 68 steals. His all-around season earned Grundy a spot on the All-Atlantic Coast Conference first team and honorable mention All-America honors. The 6-foot-3 senior said it’s nice to have the chance to show the country what he can do, but helping get the Wolfpack back into the NCAA Tournament is more meaningful than the personal recognition. “It’s special. But it’s been a special season,” he said. “For us to turn our program around and for me to be a pillar of that is special and something I’ll always hold on to.” Grundy and special often collide in sentences about the Wolfpack guard. “Anthony Grundy is a special player,” MSU head coach Tom Izzo said. “I don’t think we’ve faced anyone like him.” Izzo said Grundy’s versatility makes him difficult to defend. “This guy’s their best post player in my opinion,” he said. “He can post you up and hurt you, or he can hit three’s and hurt you.” And Izzo has also seen his own 6-3 guard elevate his game and become a special player. And his teammates have seen Taylor blossom too, and have benefited from it. “They understand that he’s our best player,” Izzo said. “But what he’s really done a great job of lately is getting everyone else more into the game. “When that happens, you get to be a complete player.” Ok My conclusion is that they are going to let Ivey and Grundy battle it out. I never saw him play , but indeed he did have a good career in NC State and especially as a senior, he is a tall PG at 6'3 and plays great defense...and he also did all this playing in the toughest conference of the NCAA.
  21. Quote: Former N.C. State guard Anthony Grundy will attend veterans camp with the Atlanta Hawks, Grundy's agent told ProBasketballNews.com. Grundy played professionally last season in Israel, where he averaged 18 points per game. He also played in Venezuela over the summer, and was named 2004 World Basketball Association defensive player of the year. Grundy's agent, Jamie Knox, also represents Dallas forward Josh Powell, among others. Anyone knows about this guy. Well anyways I feel that we dont need another guard in this team, unless they are planning to let Ivey and Donta go.
  22. Ok seriously was the point of this post. Nah j/k, I wish he was that big for real, especially at 6'10
  23. Yes but watching Marvin last year as a freshman, as an 18 year old kid, this kid will be something else. He is 6'8, ok fine he is not 6'10, but he has the reach of a 6'10 - 6'11 player. He has very good post moves and he is also very aggressive around the basket. He also plays very good defense and he is just 19 years old I truly believe Marvin will be our power forward of the future and Smoove our Sf of the future.
  24. Man you guys are doing a wonderful job with the merchandising, props to all of you involved in this. And a big THANK YOU
  25. Well Henderson will be signing with the Cavs and Songalia most likely will be signing with the Bulls. That only leaves now Evans, and I rather sign a Center to battle it out with Edwards and Collier, because I think Zaza is a really good pickup for us.
