Before the Orlando game on Monday night, coach Larry Drew told the AJC's Michael Cunningham that Marvin Williams could be out of action up to two weeks because of a bone bruise in his knee that he suffered against Detroit. Williams is set to re-examined later in the week.

"After the first week, it will be about how much he can tolerate the pain," Drew said.

With still no timetable for the return of Mo Evans who is out with a knee injury of his own, the Hawks may go into next week still without a small forward. In Williams and Evans absence, Josh Smith has been starting at small forward with Joe Johnson also spending a lot of time at the position. The results have been positive for Smith as he is on an apparent hot streak from the perimeter.

The Hawks are 1-2 since the Williams injury and have had many problems matching up with other opponents wing players due to the absence of Williams and Evans. The injuries have left the Hawks and coach Drew without a lot of flexibility.
