After winning five of their last six games, the Atlanta Dream have climbed back into the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. Going into Tuesday's game against the New York Liberty, Atlanta finds themselves with an 8-10 record and just percentage points out of the fourth and final playoff spot in the East. Atlanta has played its best basketball of the season despite its 99-92 loss in Connecticut on Sunday. They will need to be at their best as the schedule turns tough the rest of the way with seven of their next 11 contests on the road.

Angel McCoughtry captured her second consecutive player of the week award while averaging 31.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.0 steals per game for the Dream who went 2-1. On the season, McCoughtry is now tied for second in the league in scoring averaging 19.8 points per game. That is a stark improvement when you consider that she was averaging just 15.5 points through Atlanta's first 11 games of the season.

It has been a slow go of it but finally the Atlanta Dream are getting close to being healthy as a team. Coco Miller returned to action from an ankle injury she suffered prior to the All-Star break. Miller scored 18 points off the bench in Atlanta's loss to Connecticut. Sancho Lyttle also has returned to action for the Dream after being sidelined with a back injury. Lyttle is working herself back into shape and came off of the bench against both the Sparks and the Sun.

Upcoming schedule:

Tuesday, August 2 - Vs. New York, 7:30 p.m. Fox SportSouth

Sunday, August 7 - Vs. Seattle, 3:00 p.m. SportSouth
